To comment on the discussion of Malenia in chat: her lifesteal ability makes sense lore-wise because rot and decay birth new life from death. As the future Goddess of Rot, it's appropriate for her to have this fact reflected in gameplay. Also, we can tell she was granted that power from her Great Rune, because our Tarnished can get that same power when we activate her rune.

Agreed with virtsie, here. If we actually got a slightly game-breaking great rune that actually granted us a decent lifesteal % per hit (like, Butchering Knife gives you 1% HP back on hit, Malenia's great rune could give us something like 3 or 4% on hit) I wouldn't mind at all, it's an optional boss, and one that not only takes effort to get to, but effort to defeat. Seems like a just reward for all the trouble one can go through for it. But, no. We got the scuffed Bloodborne rally rune.
If her lifesteal actually functioned like the rally system, in which she could potentially recover some HP after we damaged her, that'd be perfectly fine, and it would also enhance her image lore-wise, as a warrior who would constantly suffer strikes in combat, but never faulter.
I'm 100% against her having just straight-up life steal because it diminishes her qualities as a warrior, in my opinion.
How is it that I'm supposed to take someone who says "I've never known defeat" seriously when they basically have the closest thing to a stacked deck in their hands? She is fast, she is strong, she is basically a true-form goddess, being the direct descendant of gods, and she has the power of the rot god within her, as well.
But, nah. Hey! She almost died in battle! But, no worries, she poked a bunch of lowly soldiers on the battlefield with her sword and got all of her health back, no sweat.
She would possibly be my favorite character in all of Elden Ring if not for the fact she is a script kiddie in a casual server who has a bunch of cheats on and has the gall to gloat about what a great player they are.

0 bias and key items being able to randomize to more than key locations. Exploration now mandatory.
what does it mean if there is bias in a randomizer speedrun?
@@Ramhams1337 higher bias = less randomized. Bias means great runes are more biased towards "high level" locations, such as major boss fights. No bias would mean the runes could spawn at any important location, major boss or nomad shop. What Vitaly suggested was 0% bias AND no lock to key locations, which would mean a great rune could sit in any dungean, in any chest, behind any boss.
It would be an absolute nightmare.

I dunno how feasible this is, but I'd kill for a "Elden Ring but Less Bullshit" mod that fixes all the dumb shit in this otherwise great game.
Garg poison breath doesn't do damage, only builds poison. Torrent is accessible in Elden Beast arena. NPC enemies have limited mana and need to drink pots to refill. Smithing-stone weapons need one stone per level instead of several. Godskin Duo works like a normal Duo fight where you just have to kill both once and they stay dead. Gargs/Dragonkin don't have huge holes in their hurtbox. Certain enemy moves have their damaged reduced by like 10 or 15%. Huge fire breath attacks have slightly smaller hitboxes. Bosses can't do invuln/stalling moves twice in a row. Just a lot of small annoyances fixed. It would be great.
And Elden Beast attacks would need to be made a bit lower to the ground to make jumping over with torrent easier for the sword swings and beams.

What about combining randomizer and bingo? People go their own ways with no idea if what they'll find there will get them a square, and then if they encounter, say, a remembrance boss and there's a square with condition for killing it in a certain way, they'll have to consider retreating and finding their way to completing it.
They tried it and hated it. Doubt they'll do it again anytime soon. Unfortunate because it made for good strategy
@@Ellias32188 I doubt it will make for good strategy. On the contrary, you can't plan anything because you won't know what's coming. It sounds like it's just random who's gonna win, best case it will drag the bingo out for a much longer time, because everyone has to get a grasp of the layout first, or has to just pick up every item because you won't know where the whetstones are, can't upgrade your weapon because you haven't found Agheel yet. I don't even have to try it to understand why they'd hate it.

Gotta say that was the most caustrophobic Placidusax fight I've seen yet lol.
On another note I gotta remember to get that spear (my favorite weapon type, especially when paired with med shield/tower shield) when I go back and play the game (took a break to play other games (mainly Star Ocean 1 thru 5 in prep for 6) after spending 60 hours on just the first 3 areas (completed almost everything in Limgrave, did a bit of the Lakes and Caelid).
