I've always been thinking that they should definitely have it in this kinda episode because it would be very hard to guess, nothing about it screams Sweden. I'm Finnish myself and I have few swedish family members so we've been eating this since I was small. I think it's very popular dish here also. Thanks to our big brother Sweden for this amazing dish! And yes definitely make some rice with it!

Not really. Rhett's "knowledge" is often inaccurate. For example, peanuts are just as common in South America as in SE Asia.

Flying Jacob or Flygande Jakob is great! And Swedish pizza with banana, peanuts, chicken and curry is also very good.
I legitimately looked up a recipe for this. I probably won't make a full on dish of it. But I want to try it. Half the recipe perhaps.

Ah, æbleflæsk. Brings back memories here in Denmark. Where i grew up, we had an appletree just outside the kitchen window. It was Cooking apples, to sour and grainy for eating raw, but for æbleflæsk they were great. So every autumn, it was staple dish. For a tiny country as Denmark, there are still regional differences for such a basic dish. In Jylland, the apples were slices, and still had some bite to them after cooking, while on the island Fyn, the apples had to be mashed almost into a puree. When my family moved to Fyn from Jylland, there was almost ourage when the Jylland version was served...
never heard about it. and i was raised in jylland now live in copenhagen
As a dane and even grew up with what most danes would call "good old danish food." I NEVER seen or heard anyone eat this and actually just now had to google this dish.
My family is from Booth Fyn and south Jylland and we always had a rough pure form with the flæsk mixed in but it bits and not full slices. Still the best ever

Æbleflæsk, is from the island of Fyn (in the middle of Denmark), where i'm from. It's a dish we mostly eat around christmas and as Stevie said, with beer and snaps :)

I’ve been waiting for Guatemala to make a dish debut! We have so many good things and I’m glad they liked rellenitos. To be honest, I’ve never eaten them with chocolate!
As a Guatemalan I can also say I’ve never eaten or thought of eating of them with chocolate 😅

That Swedish dish (Flying Jacob) was made popular in the 1970's and is probably my favorite Swedish dish of all. I make it all the time! I like it so much, I have the same ingredients on my pizzas minus the rice, absolutely super yummy

I'd love if they ever try "peras al vino" (cooked in wine pears, dehidrated plums/figs and peaches with sugar and cinnamon) from Spain, because it's weird and unexpected.
