That' really cool , as there's nothing nowadays like we had at that period ! Congratulations, Jammel ! Good work. For the next, Elton John songs : - Philadelphia Freedom ( 1975), Someone Saved My Life Tonight ( 1975) and The One ( 1992).
I had such a huge crush on Kiki Dee when I was a kid. She was gorgeous. I remember seeing her do "I got The Music In Me" and I thought I was going to pass out from her stunning beauty.
I love your reaction to this one. It makes me happy to hear this early Elton John and Kiki Dee classic. The plaid suit and the sunglasses are pretty conservative for Elton at the time. Elton John did an appearance on The Muppet Show many years ago whichis one one of my favourites. Crocodile Rock with crocodiles... Hilarious!!
The song started playing in my head as soon as I read the title. Just the kind of music I need today. Elton John has so many songs to choose from. Have you done Philadelphia Freedom, The Bitch is Back or Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting yet? How about Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, I'm Still Standing, Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me or Levon or (Get Back) Honky Cat? The man was a walking hit machine. And oh, the fashion! Please keep doing Elton John! He has so many beautiful, fun songs. Levon is one of my all time favorite songs by anyone, ever, I'd love to see you do that one. Philadelphia Freedom is a lot of fun, too.
Jamel, I feel cool knowing I remember when this song was released and you feel cool decades later. Every time I hear this song a wave of the 70s hits me and I'm back to simpler, happier times with much better music and TV. There's nothing like watching an episode of Charlie's Angels, The Bionic Woman, The Six Million Dollar Man...and then to hear this today!!
Check out Kiki Dee too,she was on Elton's " Rocket" record label, and had many great songs such as "Amoreuse" , " first thing in the morning, last thing at night", " I got the music in me"," lovin and free" and another song she did with Elton was an xmas hit in the uk " True love" 👍👍👍
This was my daddy and my duet when I was 6-7 years old. I love music and I have been singing since I was 3 years old. First time in public was at my parents’ friends nightclub. He would put me on the bar and I would sing along with the jukebox. My daddy passed away in 2016. Every year since on my birthday, this song plays at some point of my day. I was shopping at the Paula Deen shop when it hit me last year. It gets me every time. I say it is his way of telling me “HAPPY BIRTHDAY baby girl!!!!” Love it..........
Ah, memories of the Summer of 1976, as a 12 year old kid in the car, on the long drive to Florida with the family for vacation! We must have heard this song at least once an hour on the radio, along with the songs "Afternoon Delight" by the Starland Vocal Group, and "I'll Be Good To You" by The Brothers Johnson!

Jamel you keep playing these songs from when I was in high school and its bittersweet. Nice memories of a carefree time but then I think about too many people I've lost since then. 40+ years can take its toll (Mom, Dad, older sister, older brother).

Such a fun, carefree song...perfect for today after an emotionally draining night last night!! This is one of the first pop songs I remember hearing on AM radio as a grade schooler. Immediately takes me back to more innocent 70s days!! 🥰

The first time I heard this song, was on the "Totally Minnie" TV special in 1988. On which Elton John and Minnie mouse danced down a boardwalk singing this song together. This was my intro into a life long love affair. And I will always have special feelings for this song, amongst all of his others because of this memory.
Funny how a song brings you back to a place. When I hear this, I'm 25, driving my L'Eggs truck through the wilderness of the Adirondacks on my sales route. Singing along to the crappy AM radio in the step van the company gave me to drive.
Kiki Dee had a popular rock and roll song in the '70s called I Got The Music In Me. I know there used to be a live version of that on UA-cam. Its a MUST!
Thank you for that song and video Jamal. My oldest was born January 1977 and this song came out in 1976.
