I was fortunate enough to meet Mickey Rooney back in 1976. Did some work for him at the old Downingtown Inn, Pa. Bought me lunch in thanks for said work. Wonderful man ,one of the highlights of my life for sure.

Amazing experience. I saw him in Little Rock Arkansas when I was kid performing in Sugar Babies. I’m thankful for that experience but yours is amazing.

@@jetpilot3714 yeah, he was a very nice person overall. Not conceited because of his fame. Just a regular guy. He went as far as actually eating with us in the dining room so yes it was a very special occasion. Asked us to look out for his son who was starting work there in the near future. Unfortunately his son was a ass. If I remember correctly Mickey sued him for theft later on in life. Just an aside, I was fortunate enough to meet Bob Denver, Dawn Wells ,and the professor down in Florida when they played at a dinner theater nearby.

I'm 71 and loved the Andy Hardy's series of movies so it was great to see this again after all these years. Wish there was a way to find them all and see them again.

What’s sad was this was Lewis Stone aka Judge Hardy’s last AH film, as the last one was over a decade later and he passed away about 7 years after this.

Hated that they kept Andy a silly adolescent. Despite his underclassman status, he had served a long hitch during World War II. The movie should have reflected that and let him move on. His scenes at the end with Dorothy Ford hinted at that, and there should have been more. Rooney could act as well as anyone if they gave him decent material.

I love the "Andy Hardy" movie series but not this one too much. It always seemed unsettling to me that a guardian, who is basically a substitute parent, would fall in love and marry who is akin to their child (offspring). I felt the same way when it happens in the movie musical "Daddy Long Legs." I don't know but it makes it seem like the only reason the successful businessman supported the girl financially for all those years was to wait until she grew up and more or less "purchase" her love, devotion and loyalty and he then becomes basically a "sugar daddy" to her rather than a guardian.:(

This is a film from the 1940’s wartime. A feel good flick and you want to social engineer the aspects for modern day bullshit of oppression of the female. Gees what shallow person you must be.

Andy should’ve really ended up with Kay. It would’ve been a great way of ending the series, and it would’ve been nice to see them married in Andy Hardy Comes Home.

Ah , yes very tall about 6 ft 2 inches . Not many roles for tall woman like that where a lot of leading men are 5 9 . . She appeared at the beginning of the movie THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH before you know who comes to take over the show . She was followed by a bunch of men ! She also was in a Ozzie and Harriet episode paired with a small husband .

It was certainly slang at the time.
      From english stackexchange:
[Where did the usage of "Uncle" to refer to unrelated individuals come from?]
"If this helps, a similar use of the word is common in all Spanish-speaking countries. Not in the sense of 'guy' or 'chap' or 'dude' (typical of Spain), but to show familiarity or affection to someone who is so appreciated, but not a member of one's family. You will typically say to your children: 'Go ask 'Uncle' John if he wants to take you fishing today,' and John is just a very close friend of yours".

Andy Hardy’s mother is a basket case; unreal. A nervous wreck. I think even audiences even in those days must have thought the premise of this film ridiculous, especially after WWII.

Why not make sure that you are truly saved by Jesus Christ and practice this way. Remorsefully confess with your heart your sins to Jesus Christ who is God and tell Him that you right now are repenting of your sins and you want to be born again of the Spirit from above. Tell Jesus that you are remorsefully sorry for breaking His commandments and that you are begging for forgiveness from Him. Allow His blood from the cross to wash away your sins. After this is done with your heart successfully the Holy Spirit will come to live within you and He will rebuild you from the inside out.
Look for signs that you are saved. Things like spreading the good news from Jesus, getting other people saved, a craving for the word of God, reading the Bible, etc… These things are known as a calling and fruit bearing. If you're not bearing fruit then keep doing it. Sometimes it takes time to get saved. Read Matthew chapter 13 from the King James Bible. God bless!!!!!!!

Return to The Truth, forsaking EVERY false way. Praying doesn't accomplish that, and Creator doesn't turn a blind eye to rebellion. He has said many, many times to return to the Truth, forsaking Every false way! People would rather adopt some sort of "religion" than to return to the truth, forsaking every false way. Remorse doesn't accomplish anything if one continues in The Lie. Begging for forgiveness doesn't accomplish anything if one continues in The Lie. He SAID, to return to The Truth, forsaking every false way. Trying to substitute for that won't suffice. There is no substitute for returning to the truth, forsaking every false way. People use "Christianity" to evade having to return to the Truth, forsaking every false way. They use it to continue in the original Rebellion, to continue living The Lie, as if Creator will forgive them while they continue in the Lie, and He won't.
