- It's fun to create with just beads and string - and this bracelet is one of our classic favorites! We've combined a thin nylon cord and a thicker chinese knotting cord to make our "Feng Shui" Bracelet. Each one features gemstones combined with a tiger, dragon, phoenix or turtle for varying strengths of protection, luck, and strength.
Adjustable sliding knot bracelet is perfect for those who can't wear metal, or when you want it claspless, or a custom fit. Very little to no tools are necessary and easy to finish with a thread, zipper, lighter, or glue.

Bless you my dad and brother have been asking for these! Now I can gift them one for Christmas 🎄
I hope you made your gifts!! Aloha! jamie
Thank you very much for this demonstration. You know the cording like this is way better than the stretchy elastic which always breaks. From Canada!
We do love the adjustable sliding knot, the wear on it is a lot longer! Thanks for watching, aloha!

Good video. Thank you. I don’t understand how you use the fishing line to get the beads on the string. Would you please explain that? Thank you.
Aloha Aura! Please check our recent “shorts” to see the demo with the fishing line! Done per your comment! 🤙🤙❤️❤️❤️
Hi Michelle! Jamie ever had the time to finish the trade beads bracelet? See you soon!
Haha no, I haven't finished it yet... Very busy moving the store - new location in Nimitz Center starting Nov. 4!! Come visit us there! Hugs!!! Jamie
QUESTION: I know this can be bought as a kit, but if I wanted to make many of these, would I buy 2 different kinds of thread/cord? Can just one kind of cording be used for the whole bracelet? Thanks!
Hi Cindy! One kind of cording is possible, as long as it fits through the beads AND is the cord you want to do the macrame outside portion with! Aloha!
How do I purchase the little gold stoppers what are they called
that was so interesting to watch. I like that you don't rush through everything, me being 63 sometimes it takes me a little more time frame to get it. How do I go about ordering a kit? Does it come with instructions? I love your beads and your music you play in the background. Many Thanks, Debbie.
Glad you enjoyed it! Please contact us at request@thebeadgallery.com or text 808-436-4930 and we will be happy to help you!! Aloha!! We also have these kits online but we are always happy to "meet" our new friends, so please reach out!
What type of string do you use? Is it wax coated
Robin Kennison we use Chinese knotting cord- but anything burn-able is good to use. Contact our store if you need some!! Aloha!!
Can anyone tell me. I purchased tiger eye beads with the hole 1mm.. The holes are small. Is that the right size to use. The cord looks like I'm never getting this cord thru there or is that why I need to use fishing line. Do I need to get bead with larger holes.
If you didn't get an answer, I apologize for seeing this so late. If the holes are too small, then you can use a smaller cord for the center string, OR you can drill them with a bead reamer to make the bead holes larger! Let us know if you are still having issues and we can email you some solutions! request@thebeadgallery.com aloha! jamie
hello , how long is the initial string you don't mention ?
Hi! Your initial string can start at 3 ft, and then adjust from your next project depending on how much you have left over.. It's a hard call since everyone has different sized wrists, but hopefully that will give you a great start to measure from! aloha!
Could be a great video
Why is it called feng shui style ? Did I miss some thing was it cause of the clear bead. ?
Yes, it was a nod to the crystal quartz that has the feng shui mystlical animals etched on them! aloha!
How long is the Chinese knotting cord
hi hi! check the pdf that we supplied in the description, as it has two different recipes.. one for an 8mm and one for 6mm beads :) aloha!! jamie
👍👍👍❤️
What type n size string is this?
We use chinese knotting cord (the type that can be burned) and whatever size fits the beads. The cord ranges from .5mm to 3mm thickness, so use whatever fits the bead holes and or looks great wrapped on the outside of the bead. You can also use leather!
What type of cord do you use?
We use two types of nylon cord, a thinner nylon cord for the bead stringing call SuperMac, and we use Chinese Knotting Cord for the outside knots. Thank you!
How do you actually adjust the bracelet sigh!
what type of cord is this?
We use Chinese knotting cord- available on our website thebeadgallery.com
The only part that is unclear is how to use fishing line for needle. Otherwise beautiful bracelet! Ty!
Aloha Dorothy, did you see the recent video we did with the fishing line?
Karupusamy picture
Oh, I did't understand the length of the string in the beginning, I did the bracelet 15 min and I couldn't finish it.... oh... You shold have told that we have to let a log string in the beginning...anyway it helped in one level. thank you
Voice garbled and music TOOOOOOOOOOOOO LOUD ,background noise interference.
Yes and the jewelry noise
The banner on top is distracting and blocks out the video 👎😫
You dont tell us the size of the cord to use, you dont tell us the type of cord to use, you dont tell us the length to use. Yeah that would be extremely helpful! 🙄
Good point, as we made this as a video to go with a specific kit! Chinese knotting cord (which is what we used in this video) comes in many thicknesses ranging from .4mm to 3mm, so you will have to use what fits the bead hole. There's no generic size that will fit all beads, so we don't recommend a specific size especially with gems.
You can make this with just about any cord that fits (which is awesome!) and if your cord is not burn-able you can use glue instead to finish. Length is determined by personal hand and wrist size and the cord thickness, so again, one of the trickier projects to give calculated lengths. Hope you can still give it a try!! Aloha!
Good video. Thank you. I don’t understand how you use the fishing line to get the beads on the string. Would you please explain that? Thank you.
Hi! The fishing line is used as a "needle", so we fold it over the uncut thread side and pull it through.. HEY, I will add this to our upcoming videos, as it'd be better close up with video! aloha, jamie
