Hi all! 💜 Here is the link to the corresponding blog post: www.orchidandopal.com/blog/how-to-make-a-sliding-knot-bracelet-tutorial-quick-easy. I hope you enjoy, and have a great evening!! 💜
Notes: Thank you for your detailed steps! This is so much harder than it looks, but your video is the clearest one I have found this far. It took three tries to get the loops on the knot equally tight. And now I keep placing the second knot wrong, it’s not tightening correctly. Also as a leftie I’m realizing tying the first knot with my right hand was hard but I will keep trying. *Single Strand Bracelet* Placing the knot 🪢 4:03 Make wise enough to fit around hand R end over L end Making Loops 4:27 Use pencil ✏️ in line with R side Loop L side around First Loop 4:46 Left side goes behind pencil ✏️ and R side and down. Slide the pencil out 5:05 To thread working cord through loops Loop strand through knot 5:17 Tighten knot 5:33 Pull both cords 5:37 Hold both cords in place and then pull to tighten knot
I have tried other people’s tut’s for this sliding knot bracelet but their directions always left me confused. Yours is the clearest I’ve seen yet, thank you for the clear instructions! I will be trying it tomorrow!!!
Love your video...thanks for taking the time to make it and then share it with us. Small suggestion/question...instead of wrapping the cording around the pencil, what would you think of using a crochet hook instead? You can find them in various sizes and it just seems like making those knots wouldn't be quite as fiddly if you had the hook to help pull the ends through while maintaining the loops. Just an idea. 💡
These are super cute, and I think they could make great gifts for many age groups, from preteen on up. I've seen tutorials that use a short cut straw or tubular object when making those type barrel knots - have you ever tried something like that to help make the knots, and if so, what did you think?
Thanks for the heads up, Alisha! I had seen a knotting method similar a few years ago on Pinterest, I believe. I hadn't tried it, but thank you for mentioning that option!
I'm so glad you enjoy them too, Crystal! They're also such a great way to use left-over beads when there aren't enough to complete a more bead-heavy project. Have a wonderful evening!
Love your nail color ; and thank you so much for this video. I want to make some basic MANLY bracelets for my husband's company for 4th of July and you explained it perfectly. Thank you. Can I do this with a metal stamped center piece instead of beads?
Does anyone on here have a tutorial for hemp cord? I want to make my son a bracelet. He is 3 months old so it has to be small? I can only find videos on little girl bracelets with beads. Thanks 😊
Gina thank you very much for this tutorial. I am wanting to make anklets and I wonder how much longer should I make the threads to do that and is it possible to use this method to close off an anklet?
Hi Barbara! Thanks for asking. If you go to the video description, you'll find a link to my blog post. There, you'll find a full list of materials including a link to the cord. Let me know if you need help locating it.
There is a one knot version too that I hope to share a tutorial on. 💜💜💜 This one is meant to have two as a different look. The one knot version has strands dangling off either side of the knot, which some don't prefer. Thanks for watching!

Your slip knot is the easiest one I've seen. Thanks
Awesome! I am so glad to hear that the tutorial is easy and clear! 💜

If you use a straw instead of pencil you can easily put your cord through ;)
These are great and can be for any gender or age, quick stocking stuffers or exchanging gifts too, now I just need some cord, thanks
They are so versatile! Thanks so much for watching!

@@ORCHIDandOPAL you’re very welcome 😊
I like that it's a variation on a barrel knot.
Thanks for this as I didn't know how to sort out the ends of the knot. Really like the bracelets you made too 😊👌
Truly enjoyed watching this! And I’m REALLY happy to see how you’ve used the tool to help get knots to go where they need to! Thanks 😅

Yes! I learned this using a long tube bead with a large opening. 😊
Thanks for the heads up, Alisha! I had seen a knotting method similar a few years ago on Pinterest, I believe. I hadn't tried it, but thank you for mentioning that option!

@@ORCHIDandOPAL Definitely a great way to use leftover beads or beads from your bead soup. Have a great week!

This is awesome. I'm glad I got to see the replay. My question is, can u do 4 wraps instead of 3? Or maybe even more?
You sure can! I have done four before. I would recommend three at a minimum. Thanks for watching!

Hey there! Bead awl 💜😁
Hi I had trouble with the knot on the first bracelet that you made when I tried it I did it over and over and over again but it didn’t work :(
I’m sorry to hear that, Frida! Don’t give up. Practice makes improvement. :)
Xcellent

What kind of cord are you using
Hi Barbara! Thanks for asking. If you go to the video description, you'll find a link to my blog post. There, you'll find a full list of materials including a link to the cord. Let me know if you need help locating it.

the coupon code say its invalid
Oh no! I will check with them - it should still be OPAL5, without expiration, but we'll see what they say... 💜 💜 💜
Is one knot not enough?
There is a one knot version too that I hope to share a tutorial on. 💜💜💜 This one is meant to have two as a different look. The one knot version has strands dangling off either side of the knot, which some don't prefer. Thanks for watching!
Ok
