As a jazz rs owner and have driven the mazda 2, and i can tell you the mazda is more fun to drive, yes on paper the jazz has more power but mazda compensate for its better transmission and longer gears. Also, interior quality is better, not so much as the space, unlike the jazz.
I drove today the mazda 2 and it feels way better than city hatchback, specially on cornering, Ill probably buy it next yr, Thanks mazda alabang, cant wait to have you after i transfer to my new house with parking
lucky for you naka mazda 2 sedan kapa while I'm hoping na magka mazda 2 sedan rin pero phinase out eh sana yung hatchback nlng phinase out nila kasi mas practical in terms of trunk space ang mazda 2 sedan..option ko nalang ngayon is maghanap ng 2nd hand 2016-2020 mazda 2 sedan haha
Wonderful review. I'm glad the Mazda 2 won you over in the end 😊 Depending on where one lives - if it is similarly priced to its competitors than the Mazda 2 cannot be overlooked. I bought my Mazda 2 new in 2011. Very reliable, and fun to drive. Recently traded it in and my husband gifted me the 2024 Mazda 2. I did consider other vehicles but nothing could (for me) beat the Mazda 2.
Well done review, kudos and thanks. This hatch may be aging, but in the same way as fine wine (based on this and the other reviews I've watched, plus I've checked out an actual unit in a showroom). The way I see it, not ideal as an only car for families, but seems a solid choice for a 2nd car for 1 to 2 person economical commuting.
Yes, I agree. I don't understand the push for new generations so often. It's already great and needs minor adjustments - not an overhaul. We used the Mazda2 as our only car until my son was 6. Then we had to get a second car as I had to do after school pick up. My husband got the 2023 Mazda 3 sedan and I kept my Mazda2. But he still loves driving the Mazda2 😂
Guys, do you have experience of reliability and how good is it the automatic transmission on long term (>100.000 Km)?? We do not have enough record here in Europe. Thank you to share
That's the average consumption of the car given the traffic conditions and my pedal input. As long as those factors don't change, fuel consumption should remain the same.
He mentioned some points comparing the two cars towards the end of the video. Personally, I don't like the Mazda 2 rear exterior looks for this hatch variant. If they still have sedan variant I would take that in a heartbeat.
Yes, a lot of people are now buying SUVs so other bigger vehicles won't bully them. I bought my Mazda 2 new in 2011. Amazing car. Reliable and fun. It was a mechanical gem. Recently traded it in while it still has life left. My husband bought me a 2024 Mazda 2. I considered other vehicles but at the end of the day there was nothing better than the Mazda 2 (in my opinion).
I forgot to mention that I live in Australia and Mazda is very decently priced. When looking to buy a new car I considered: -Suzuki Swift - even though the lower trims of the Suzuki Swift are cheaper than the Mazda 2 - they are lacking safety features compared to the Mazda 2. The top trim (GLX Turbo) has all the safety features, and was comparable in price to Mazda. But I am unsure about turbo engines. I appreciate the quirky looks of the Suzuki Swift but I prefer the Mazda 2 looks, and the interior is inferior compared to the Mazda 2. -Toyota Yaris - more expensive than the Mazda 2, I don't like the looks, and the interior is inferior to Mazda. -Kia Picanto - great price with decent safety features, I like the look, and the interior was decent. But at the end of the day it was too small for my needs. I also considered the following subcompact SUVs - Mazda CX-3 (rear space is smaller than the Mazda 2), Kia Stonic (only GT-Line trim is now available in Australia which is a DCT and I am unsure about that), and the Hyundai Venue (I personally am undecided about the looks). So, as you can see - the Mazda 2 was the best car for me 😊
Mazdas naturally aspirated engines are very reliable. I bought a Mazda 2 in 2011 new. It was a mechanical gem for 13 years. Traded it in while it still had life left. And my husband gifted me a 2024 Mazda 2. Mazdas are are reliable daily drivers with good driving dynamics, and they look great. Not everyone wants a turbo engine or an EV. We don't all need to have fast cars. It's good to have options 😊
Mazda3 is a great car. I had my Mazda2 from new since 2011. So much fun to drive. I recently traded it in while it still had life. My husband bought me a 2024 Mazda 2. Actually, my husband fell in love with Mazda after driving my Mazda2. He bought a 2023 Mazda3 sedan last year. My husband drives the Mazda2 and Mazda3 equal amounts. They are both great cars. It depends on your budget and what suits your needs.

Thanks for your first-hand feedback! Very helpful to me!
True, mazda 2 is funto drive bit limited space...almost got one but finally lande on the City V.
That's because your Jazz RS has a CVT Transmission.
I drove today the mazda 2 and it feels way better than city hatchback,
specially on cornering,
Ill probably buy it next yr,
Thanks mazda alabang, cant wait to have you after i transfer to my new house with parking
I own Swift and it's a fun car to drive. But i got a chance to test drive Mazda 2 and i gotta say it was on another level of fun.
I own 2016 mazda 2 sedan. i am happy with my decision back then no problem at all till now..
Kumusta po ang fuel consumption po?
lucky for you naka mazda 2 sedan kapa while I'm hoping na magka mazda 2 sedan rin pero phinase out eh sana yung hatchback nlng phinase out nila kasi mas practical in terms of trunk space ang mazda 2 sedan..option ko nalang ngayon is maghanap ng 2nd hand 2016-2020 mazda 2 sedan haha
Not even one saw it in the road, city and provnce..but true it's really beautiful and elegant inside...
Hoping to have this as my first car. I am waiting to see the facelift when it comes out here. Thanks for the video.
Wonderful review. I'm glad the Mazda 2 won you over in the end 😊

Ridiculous that America stopped making them. Huge mistake. They would sell by millions of buyers
10:50 engine sound ❤

The drive looks fun and engaging. The problem is it's small in terms of size.
That's what makes the ride fun, you can chuck into corners with ease.
Fun fact mazda 2 is one of the biggest in a mazda family, even bigger than mazda 6.. Only CX5, 60 and 90 are bigger
Which is fuel efficient:
mazda 2?
Mazda 3 hev?
Suzuki spresso?
How is the speakers?

Small car with a 1.5L engine. Sarap idrive tapos matipid pa
Does the estimated 26kpl mean that it is the consumption of the car @72 kph until it gets empty?
That's the average consumption of the car given the traffic conditions and my pedal input. As long as those factors don't change, fuel consumption should remain the same.
asfaik there was a mazda 2 MT sedan base model for sale previously
Mazda 3 2023 base model pleaseee love the vids

pls ask Mazda PH if they will bring the CX 50 and CX 60 (CX 70 in the US)... by the way, CX 90 turbo and CX 90 PHEV has been released in North America
I'll ask them when I get the chance.
This or the honda city hatch?
same ng pinagpipilian boss, pero parang mas goods service ng mazda and transmission pero sa space and better engine ay city
Hey, nice review, but I did not understand what the automatic transmission is? is it DSG?
No, not DCG. It has a naturally aspirated petrol engine and is a 6 speed automatic.
This or the city hatch rs?
He mentioned some points comparing the two cars towards the end of the video. Personally, I don't like the Mazda 2 rear exterior looks for this hatch variant. If they still have sedan variant I would take that in a heartbeat.
City sedan
city hb rs more practical 😅
Plus one I owned City Hatchback. Torn between Mazda 2 and city hatchback ended up choosing city hatchback
Good looking car but impractical in price. You will just get bullied in the metro by the tall SUVs and vans.
Drive a small car but carry a big gun 😉😆😅

Parang mababa resale value ng Mazda 😅
mazda owners don't really prioritize resale value..
Bagal niyang Mazda 2. Nilagpasan ka ng 30-year old ko na Mazda MPV at around 10:00.. don't but it. tsk tsk #mazdaMPV #efini
No turbo/electro - no fun. This is slow, overpriced car.

Go fot Mazda 3 its worth it
