WHEN THE SKY COMES LOOKING FOR YOU
    A film by Pep Bonet
The rider’s bike thunders down a dusty desert road, no apparent destination and no apparent expectation.
The young hitchhiker girl waits, guitar and hope all wrapped up in warm, youthful exuberance.
    Until she’s dead.
    Just like that…
…and the rider continues towards the Excalibur Bar, where headbangers ’n’ drinkers, gambling thieves ’n’ rogues have gathered.
    Biker? Devil? Devil biker? Death?
“What are ya gonna do now? roars Lemmy, and in the ensuing minutes, we see some answers to his questions.
"Life deals with you as it needs to. And when death comes looking for you amidst it all, there’s no date, no appointment, often no rhyme and usually no reason.
“When it comes, there’s nothing you can do,” says Pep Bonet, award winning photographer and director, “it’s placeless, timeless and ageless. It doesn’t care about any of those things, and it doesn’t care how young or old you are.”
Director Bonet (who has photographed Motörhead since 2008) made this all-digital short film in only a few October days, deciding to make the piece in his hometown of Majorca where he got 50 extras to meet at his friend Javi’s Excalibur bar, which has certainly hosted a few hundred bashes in its time (for what it’s worth, Javi got a war-pig tattooed in real-time on his arm by the Barcelona-based tattooist Javi Castaño (owner of Barcelona Electric Tattoo) during the shoot. The entire production was a labour of love and friendships for Bonet, whose editor Miguel Angell Font also helped write the script. The biker/death is played by Majorcan biker Santi Oliver.
“Santi’s father was the first Majorcan in a Olimpic Boxing games in London 1948 and wrestling European Champion explains Pep, “Santi himself was an addict for a while before escaping the clutches and becoming a blo-kart World champion since 2008.
Getting people in to shoot was a rapid task, the film being green-lit for production literally a week before the planned shoot-date. This saw Bonet reach out for 50 actors to come and hang at Excalibur drinking, smoking and double-dealing cards with each other via Facebook. This unsurprisingly led to over 500 requests!
“Once people were told the band wasn’t going to be there, that helped thin out the people we needed quite a lot,” explains Bonet, “that and when they realized it was in Majorca!”
It is Bonet’s first music video piece, and from its Sam Peckinpah’ like approach to the calm mystery of Santi Oliver, the style, frame and intriguingly off-kilter atmosphere all encapsulate the best elements of Bonet’s photography, which has won World Press Photography awards in 2002, 2007 and 2009. The feral ingredients of both human instinct and circumstance have long-been hallmarks of Bonet’s work, and have seen him in Sierra Leone, Haiti, Honduras, Brazil, South Africa and many other electrically-charged places and situations. Bonet has become a filmmaker with true verite qualities, and his short piece Into The Shadows (about the inner-city struggles of Johannesburg) saw him win another World Press Multimedia award, receiving first prize in the ‘Online short’ category.
When The Sky Comes Looking For You is the latest in a series of creative endeavors between Bonet, Motörhead and their label UDR GmbH, which have included Roadkill - Motörhead softback book, We The People Of Wacken which documented the fans of the festival and his instangram online photo-journalism from last year’s Wacken Festival.

Lemmy had his softer sides too, for example he was a big fan of pretty pop idol girls, exactly like myself i may add. For example, Lemmy was a fan of Samantha Fox, OPENLY, many metal fans tried to hide it. Well i dont hide it too, this is the kinda music i listen/watch beside metal - ua-cam.com/video/LbyPpwtZA9w/v-deo.html - so be like Lemmy guys. nothing wrong about loving pretty girl pop music, Lemmy approved.

That should count for something. I hope an angel meets Lemmy halfway between here and heaven and helps him make his way. God bless.

good works doesn't get a man into heaven character and integrity does which Lemmy had. he was what he was. people were put on this earth to become somebody not to do something. the sooner people get that i think the better the world will be but fear keeps most from becoming the person they were meant to be. i heard Lemmy say once concerning the afterlife during an interview "i'm goin where the pool tables are" well Lem i happen to believe that God is down to earth enough to enjoy a bit of pool in the afterlife and anything else that is simple and ordinary and pleasurable. so yeah i believe you did end up where the pool tables are.

+Cimersies All too true ... I've wanted to go see Motörhead live for the longest time, but either couldn't afford to go or it was sold out when ever they did a concert here. I made the mistake of always thinking "next time, next time I'll go." But now the man that was Motörhead's living, breathing heart is gone, and the band that claimed to be louder than anything else has fallen silent for the last time ...
I have been fortunate enough to see a lot of my favorite bands live, but I will always regret not going to see Lemmy and his crew when I had the chance. All I can do now is honor the man by doing my very best to live life on my terms and chase my dreams with all I've got til my very last breath. Just like him.

    Verse 1]
What are you going to do now
    Out in the lonely times
How will you ever get through now
    Remembering all of your crimes
    [Chorus 1]
    What will you do
And what will you do, who do you think would attempt a rescue
Dreaming, screaming, knocked right out of your shoes
Who would you blame, who could you sue
If the sky came looking for you
    [Verse 2]
How are you gonna live now
    Out in the lonely fields
What do you have to give now
I wonder how do you feel
    [Chorus 2]
    What will you say
    What will you say
What will you say when God turns away
Running, jumping, praying it wasn't true
How would you look, without a clue
When the sky comes looking for you
    [Instrumental]
    [Verse 3]
Looks like the same old story
Looks like the same old game
Don't think you're bound for glory
I think you might be insane
    [Chorus 3]
What do you think, what do you think
What do you think with your nerves on the bring
Dodging, weaving, trying to find a way through
Gonna be bad whatever you do
When the sky comes looking for you

First saw Motörhead/Lemmy post-Hawkwind, when they supported the very same Hawkwind in ‘77 at Camden Music Machine in London. Turned up early and bumped into Dave Brock and Lemmy at the bar. That was entertaining! We came dressed up (v badly), at Bob Calvert’s open invite, as Robots. Remember Lemmy turning to us and saying ‘what the fuck...Here are your space buddies Dave’ and having a damn good chuckle at us! Saw MH later that year (I think?) at the West Runton Pavillion - with about a dozen others in the audience...no bodies to absorb the sound...a total Sonic Attack. They opened with City Kids...and closed, as ever, with the eponymous. I’m 60+ now, so a big hello to recent Motörhead fans. He is still Lemmy...he still plays Rock ‘n’ Roll.

I took my son Danny to see Motorhead at the Webster Theater in Hartford CT. in 2004,. From then on, it was his favorite band,
Just as they were my favorite band for many years. He drank himself to death and died on March 22nd of this year at age 27. I held a tribute to his life and made Lemmy and Motorhead the centerpiece of his tribute. I miss the kid so much.

Bless Lemmy. Bad majic has been in my truck since I got it, forgot how long ago and I listen to it at least 2 to 3 days a week. If you listen to the lyrics you can kind of hear the struggle or lack of that Lemmy power in his voice. There will never be anyone better than Motorhead.
