Fine…” a little dissapointed but it does set up season 3 quite nicely, so, here’s my go at my theory for the timeline of season 3: Btw, short version at end End of episode one, angel and Crowley see each other again, do meet eyes thing, but the ‘oh no, we’ve made our decision’ look with be exchanged , they’ll grit their teeth and Aziraphale will play on heavens side and Crowley on his own side. Up till 3/4s way through season 3, they’ve been playing against each other and every time they see each other, knowing what’s coming and how they wish this was easier, it’s just a heart wrenching scene after scene, yadda yadda, boo hoo. Then, the thing that kickstarts the last act, last fourth of the season, Crowley and aziraphale finally, FINALLY, have their moment, the one we’ve waited for, it’s sweet and lovely and emotional, ecetera, and then they bring up, ‘oh by the way about the second coming’ and they fight, ending the romantic moment, and they are either caught being sweet by others after all the fighting of season 3, similar to heaven and hell finding out they were best friends and working together all along, OR sweet moment ends with the most heart wrenching of all scenes and they leave, hearts broken all over again, especially after they reconnected in earnest, and kickstarts the last act of season 3 where they have one more chance before the big event to choose a side, except Crowley will never turn angel again, and Aziraphale has so many on his shoulders and so much power in his hands that if he gives it up, could send all crashing down for his best friend. So really the ending either ends with Aziraphale unable to make a different choice than season 2 ending, which leads to season 4, possibly 5, which breaks Crowley because he sees Angel doesn’t think he’s worth more than heaven, and it just makes him more determined and closed off in the future, or he makes a choice for Crowley, they band together again side by side and stop the second coming miraculously(😂), or final option, they still band together, but also get rid of heaven and hell interference once and for all, either realistically or virtually. So essentially it goes downhill, then they have a moment, and then goes farther than rock bottom, sliding to end of season 3 like fish in a barrel and a terrific ending or cliff hanger. One note I do think is sad is how in episode 2, season 2, Crowley let on in the end how being on your own side is indeed lonely…and now he doesn’t even have Aziraphale
Yes, Neil said s3 is the last one and that it's going to be based on the plot he and Terry had planned out for book #2. He already has the last 15 pages and episode 1 written (pre-strike) and I remember seeing that book 2 was meant to start with them separately and Azira leading heaven before the second coming. But with how Neil talks about these characters, openly calling it a romance story, adding little bits like "they like holding hands" etc I'm more than certain they get a happy ending. But something definitely goes very badly and Crowley has to save Aziraphale (which we know makes him sooo happy). Now we just have to wait another 2-3 years minimum before it gets produced :')))))
I admit I'm a real sucker for the fact that Crowley wants nothing to do with helping Gabriel but then immediately declares himself all in (if begrudgingly) the second he realizes his Angel may be in danger.
Oh yeah. Learning how much danger Azriraphale was in wouldn't have made him realise he was wrong, it would have reinforced more strongly that he was right. But he knows Azi won't change his mind so he'll change his because he won't let Azi face that danger alone.

As an ambulatory wheelchair user due to a congenital condition, I literally burst from happiness seeing one of the angels being ambulatory. I’ve never seen that before in a show. Canonically, this is because demons get their miracle "power" from below and angels get theirs from above. What I find interesting is that they don't always do the same (or any at all) hand motions during their miracles. If they don't need the snaps/ hand motions, why do them ever? Possibly just a visual indicator to us (the audience) that a miracle is being performed to go with the miracle "chime" sound effect.
The full apology cabaret with multiple tutus could be a minisode- I'm all in for that! And if they don't do it, just call on the fandom - someone will write and animate that for you, in several versions, each becoming more NSFW...

I love the fact that Crowley apologised even though he wasn’t wrong. In fact, he was right from the very beginning. If they dumped Gabriel on Dartmoor Street, no trouble whatsoever would have happened to them. Ahhhh, Crowley, we love you ❤
Actually no. Crowley is valid in not wanting to do anything with Gabriel but, then dumping Gabriel in Dartmoor wouldn’t solve anything. Gabriel would still be found by heaven and demoted. Heaven would still go forward in ending the world again. At least kinda helping Gabriel made Crowley aware of the situation. And the Metatron would still have convinced Aziraphale to take Gabriel’s place. Aziraphale was always more faithful to heaven. At least now he can slowly open his eyes with how toxic heaven is. I know it hurts that Crowley and Aziraphale divorced but, Season 3 would explore so much.
My favourite part of this scene is that little snippet where Crowley is like “FINE!” His face gets me every time! He looks so put upon, but you can also see his love there for Aziraphale. It’s like “The things I do for you Angel…” 0:55
I just wanted to say congratulations to you both, because you make all the emotions go by in 30 seconds, and it can't be easy to play. Within 30 seconds we could see and feel relief, hope, deep sadness, joy, love, madness, surprise, anger, grief, envy, hesitation and disappointment. Bravo, because few people can play all this at the same time, you are very great actors. Congratulations. I can't wait to see the 3rd season.
Crowley totally came up with the dance to mess with the angel. I'm sure he was kicking his feet and giddy like a little school girl whenever Zira messed up and he got him to do the dance. However, I am sure it has backfired and this is not the first time Aziraphale has made him apologize this way.

This show is such a gift, I love it very much, and this season, I've said before, really feels like a warm hug. Even the ending felt so soft, despite the tragedy it left in liTERALLY EVERYONE WHO WATCHED, EVER. Goodness, I really, really really hope S3 happens. Such unique television characters who mean the world to myself and so many others here. Not to mention, I've read quite a few married couples around who have taken to learning the apology dance for each other, and I think that's so precious of them. True love right there!
I'm actually okay with not seeing the historical dances; I think there will be more interesting things to use the screentime for. But I'm very glad previous times were mentioned, because knowing this is a little ritual of theirs rather than a once-off thing is glorious.

I think Crowley expected an entirely different reaction from Aziraphale on his return to the bookshop, gratitude of the "Thank God you're here!" variety, instead of a thoroughly peeved angel who dug his heels in and demanded a proper apology.
The interesting thing is that Crowley is never actually sorry when he "apologizes". In season 1, he apologizes because Hell found out that he messed up the baby swap and desperately wanted to run away with Aziraphale and didn't come back to help Aziraphale with Gabriel in season 2 because he thought he did something wrong but because he found out about the "extreme sanctions" (something he never seemed to tell the angel).
Great show. I enjoyed David and Michael's performance. An angel and a demon working together and secretly being best friends. I also enjoy John Hamm's performance too. 😊
I'm half-convinced Michael mainlined a bunch of soft!Dom Aziraphale/sub!Crowley fics and whispered into Neil's ear to include this bit, just so he could deliver the "Very nice" line like *that*...
What I like about this is how, it instantly implies that Gabriel helped with the miracle, hence how immense it was, but at the same time doesn't by having him clueless.

Crowley totally came up with the dance to mess with the angel. I'm sure he was kicking his feet and giddy like a little school girl whenever Zira messed up and he got him to do the dance. However, I am sure it has backfired and this is not the first time Aziraphale has made him apologize this way.

This show is such a gift, I love it very much, and this season, I've said before, really feels like a warm hug. Even the ending felt so soft, despite the tragedy it left in liTERALLY EVERYONE WHO WATCHED, EVER. Goodness, I really, really really hope S3 happens. Such unique television characters who mean the world to myself and so many others here. Not to mention, I've read quite a few married couples around who have taken to learning the apology dance for each other, and I think that's so precious of them. True love right there!

I'm actually okay with not seeing the historical dances; I think there will be more interesting things to use the screentime for. But I'm very glad previous times were mentioned, because knowing this is a little ritual of theirs rather than a once-off thing is glorious.

Moffat does not deserve any sort of positive commentary; he spent years queerbaiting his audience. Gaiman, however, is living up to his name quite nicely. 😂

I think Crowley expected an entirely different reaction from Aziraphale on his return to the bookshop, gratitude of the "Thank God you're here!" variety, instead of a thoroughly peeved angel who dug his heels in and demanded a proper apology.
The interesting thing is that Crowley is never actually sorry when he "apologizes". In season 1, he apologizes because Hell found out that he messed up the baby swap and desperately wanted to run away with Aziraphale and didn't come back to help Aziraphale with Gabriel in season 2 because he thought he did something wrong but because he found out about the "extreme sanctions" (something he never seemed to tell the angel).
Yeah it's more like picking the wrong choice in a visual novel and then going back to the previous check point.
Great show. I enjoyed David and Michael's performance. An angel and a demon working together and secretly being best friends. I also enjoy John Hamm's performance too. 😊
