I love seeing you have this podcast! I hope Mr. Callaway can read this or respond, but I grew up in cedar creek, tx… as a kid I saw him at a local gas station come to find out we lived close by his old ranch… my dad is an older Mexican man hardly speaks English but he would watch wrestling with my brother and I all the time… we would see him and my dad would scare us keeping Kayfabe to not bother him or he would put us in a casket… he had interesting name for the undertaker,…but I got him to sign a magazine for me at my local heb in bastrop way back in the day… I have his deadman action figure jejeje still have the magazine he signed for me.
pls ask him what is your favorite movie in Hollywood 😹👍 I think he knows that

I don't know if Undertaker owns the rights, but I'm sure he could get someone to let him do it.
Yeah that’s the closest thing we can get to a match
For being nearly 59 years old Taker still looks to be in incredible shape. God bless him.
To be honest, I thought Sting was the undertaker for a moment. The first time I saw Sting was in TNA, and I thought , because he would appear out of nowhere and say nothing, and then disappear.
Dude looks 40

You should have Steve on for a "Sting Meets The Undertaker" Episode in a one on one setting... You two could discuss your careers as well as your personal journeys leading to you both finding your faith.
That’s a great idea!!
I concur
It's disrespectful and inappropriate to refer to Sting ad "Steve". Only refer as Sting
Idk….to me Undertaker has always had it out for the WCW wrestlers.
Don’t think Undertaker wants anything to do with them unless it’s burying them. Shame really.
@@dallasparty316i interpreted it as a meet on Steve Austins podcast. Completely forgot that was Stings name
For me, this will always be one of the wrestling industry's biggest missed opportunities. Undertaker vs Sting at something like a WrestleMania would have shattered minds. Two of the most respected consummate professionals there are in professional wrestling. It's such a shame we never saw it.
It would have been okay I don't think it would have shattered minds. They'd of had a decent 10 minute match at mania but I wouldn't be Taker vs Michaels level good
@@theboxingboy7422 But when you think about presentation wise, I think it could rival it. It wouldn't have to be amazing technically.
The problem with having it at Mania is timing. If it's before 30 then Sting just gets fed to the streak. After that and neither man is healthy at the same time.
Hulk vs Austin and Taker vs Sting. Two matches that had no business not happening. All men were in WWF at the same time to have the match.
"Vince didn't want him.." Man, what a goddamn blunder as a booker..

I think taker was scared that sting might get cheered kinda like Hogan did against Rock... because if taker wanted the match it would of happened period!
You can tell from stings comments on the matter that it was definitely taker who never wanted the match. Take made so many poor decisions in the last part of his career @@shawnsdr3406
This was all on Vince. They could've easily pulled the trigger at Wrestmainia 31 instead of losing to HHH and Taker beating Bray Wyatt. The Wyatt match would've made better sense had he still been undefeated and lost to Wyatt to give him the rub. Once he lost to Lesnar there was no reason not to do the match. WWE did a great job introducing him at SS. He should've faced HHH at Royal Rumble and been in the rumble match, where he could've had a stare down with Taker and teased their Wrestlemania match and just build it from there. Vince blew it with Hogan & Flair for Wrestlemania VIII too.
Goldberg and Austin was another one I wanted to see so bad
I agree so much with statement
@@sunnylal888that would have been so dope.
Austin goldberg
Taker sting

All woulda been great but his handmade stars wouldn’t be put over in none of them matches vs the wcw counterparts and I think Vince knew that and it could’ve changed the landscape of how we view them and as far as after the prime it just woulda been an A+ ad with a C+ product due to age and wear and tear.. good thing we have wrestling games now tho
Scott Hall was behind the crow persona. Scott Hall pitched the idea to Sting to do his version of " The Crow" gimmick. It needs to be said now every time Sting is mentioned about reinventing himself. Credit goes to the bad guy. R.I.P Scott Hall🙏🏼
Not true.
It is true. Both men have said it in various interviews.
It may be too late for a Sting v Taker match, but a "moment" is possible. 30 minutes, entrances, face to face. It could be magical. It's mind blowing that creative didn't give us the match, or even a moment.
I still hope that one day, we get a moment.
They could have done a team Sting vs team Undertaker match like they did with Hogan/Flair in Saudi a few years ago.
Exactly at least we can get a face to face !
It would still be possible, especially Taker is just going 59 this year and Sting at 65, remember Hogan and Flair are still rassling in their early 70s, but the thing is, not just for a physical matchup but like a moment, face to face, talking to each other.
@djdecimator97 hogan and flair wrestling in there 70s wasn't good at all lol literally affected how I look at them as wrestlers.

Taker needs to keep the fully grown goatee. It honestly makes him look younger and more intimidating.

@@Viking0201 😂
@@Viking0201 I loved that look Taker had during that Orton feud so much. So dynamic.
The thing is Undertaker versus sting have worked out in any capacity old man Vince just didn't have the mindset for it
The bottom line is Vince hated WCW so much that he wouldn't let sting anywhere near undertaker. I mean he put HHH over sting at mania and everyone knows that was the wrong decision. Sting should have buried HHH at mania
Both too old for it a that time and it would be a let down.
@@JJ-cv6bc Hell no, HHH was ten years younger and in great shape. Sting did the right thing by losing and then HHH had the win to put over Reigns and Rollins the next wo manias. Sing wasn't hanging around so they couldn't get much out of him. And people just didn't care as much about Sting at that point due to his age. He should have come earlier. The only match people wanted was him vs Taker.
It should have been taker and sting not HHH. And I would be ok with taker going over sting but not HHH. In my opinion sting was brought in to be a 2-3 match attraction not to put over HHH and Rollins. Vince misused sting horribly
Sting deserved and earned to have his mania moment and it was ruined by having the match with HHH going over and the stupid interference by nwo and dx
it’s crazy how throughout Sting’s career, he rarely went hard on his body in matches (e.g. taking hard chair shots, table bumps)…Dude hits age 55+ years old, goes to AEW, and is taking the craziest bumps I’ve seen him do. He retired on a high, like Terry Funk did. Terry was badly injured late in his life, dude took the craziest bumps at age 60+. Rare to see wrestlers that old going out balls out.
Mark ‘The Undertaker’ Calaway’s candid reflection on the much-anticipated match with Sting that never came to be is a testament to his integrity and respect for the sport. It’s clear that both legends prioritized the quality of the performance and the fans’ experience above all else. This level of honesty and insight is why Six Feet Under is a must-watch for wrestling fans. Thanks for sharing these stories with us!
Thanks for touching on why the Taker vs Sting match never took place along with his retirement..
Sting was always my hero growing up. I was on the WCW side of the Monday night wars. That being said I love these podcasts where guys from competing companies can talk about their counterparts and with someone with a career and impact on the business like Sting and do it honorably and with tremendous respect. Always loved the undertaker as well. What a guy
While obviously it is Taker’s decision whether or not he steps in a ring again, I do have to say that people temper their expectations based on things like age. Nobody was expecting Sting to have a Great American Bash against Ric Flair classic at this point in time. You’re just happy to see him in the ring doing something. Taker doing cinematic matches is the answer here. The one he had with AJ was unbelievably entertaining. Now, if Taker considers that a step down and is not something he wants to do, so be it. But I think most fans would be very happy to just see him in storylines and the Undertaker character lends itself to those cinematic matches probably more so than any other. The supernatural elements to the character make the possibilities endless.
I completely agree with everything you said here.
Man I love how refreshed and healthy Taker looks... Glad he was able to retire before he got too old and he's now able to sit back and enjoy the benefits of all his years of hard work.

A sting and Taker sit down would be amazing. Also Taker that first dark sting is the "Crow Sting"
Sting was a WWE hall of famer. It made sense for several reasons to recognize him. I’m glad they did.
It's crazy how Mark / Taker seems to have regained a lot of vitality since he retired. He looked exhausted the last few years of his career.
So glad to see him healthy again.
As for the match with Sting... well they probably had that dream match in an alternate reality, somewhere. But FUCK, I wish that match happened. Like so many of us. That's the biggest dream match that never happened in the whole industry, PERIOD, not just in WWE.
1. Vince is an idiot
2. No one talks about Sting's gimmick change in the right context. The Crow movies show a man coming back from the dead for revenge bc the adversaries took everything from him. Sting's gimmick was that nWo took WCW from him, fundamentally changed the promotion, so he came back as a crow type figure to avenge what Hogan & the nWo took from him.
3. It is too late for Taker v Sting just bc of age and physiques. It wouldn't hit the same and it wouldn't be a real match. It'd have to be a cinematic match and it just wouldn't be the same.
I think the Vince thing is just that Sting was the face of WCW throughout its whole post-Crockett run. that's why HHH went over him at WM. just to stick it to WCW one last time like all the other guys that got buried during Invasion. his pettiness and unwillingness to do what was right for business is one of his biggest flaws as a person. (current issues aside)
@zachsabbath1 out of shape??? I've watched that starrcade match several times and sting looked like he was in great shape??? Was he not moving as fast as he did sure but that was the character he didn't need to move fast for much of the match. Was it the fact that he wasn't tanned enough???

Took everything and in the graphic novel Eric is downed first shot in the head but is powerless and immobile having to watch that scumbag club of scumbags with pirate nicknames violating Shelley. Lives stolen, everything taken and an extreme wrong that must be avenged for his soul could rest. Sting was framed,by Bogus Sting and the NWO, to seem as if he betrayed his friends, made Luger turn his 96 era huge back to real Sting so over the next couple months he waited and watched WCW get punked then debuts one of the best character changes twix the Crow look and teases friend/foe to the NWO invites and his babyface former homies. Cracking heads with his trusty bat, thankfully successfully repels from the ceiling looking cool as fuck every time (RIP Owen) , uses confusion and mind games like Batman who? Sometimes using more than a dozen lookalikes to strike sneak attacks on NWO and even from underneath the ring mat preFiend to attack Bischoff and Hogan(RIP Bray). So many different ways that may look familiar cuz last year TNA era Styles, The Wyatt's/theFiend and many others in many companies have used parts of in various angles the past 24 years. 96 to 98 Sting before joining NWO Wolfpac is worth checking out if you possibly never got to watch promise.

So true, I say it all the time. Sting does not have the same wear and tear as Taker and many other guys. Sting had a long career, but he wasn't bumping every night on houseshows. When he went to TNA, things got even easier. Great career nonetheless.
Michaels was working a part-time schedule throughout the 2000s. It's not something that tends to be held against him.
And worked a light ass schedule the last 20 years
Taker should bring Sting on the Six Feet Under Podcast its only fitting to have a conversation between two of wrestling’s legendary icons with parallel careers that never got to meet in the ring (Mean Mark Callous vs. Surfer Sting doesn’t count). It could be a very interesting conversation.
You are doing great Matt, and the new studio looks cool.
You gotta think, Taker has been wrestling for 30+ years man! It's what the man lives and breathes! Being one of the tops of WWE for that many years.. All of the other wrestlers never having anything bad to say about Taker.. Man was loyal to his Company through the years, when many jumped ship for more money (To businesses that went under) Taker never did! The thing is now he's facing retirement and probably has no idea what to spend his daily time doing really, which Is why these podcasts are a great thing.. Taker doing this podcast and Deadman shows and keeping himself busy is a good thing. Running out of things to do, getting bored.. Would definitely make him miss wrestling even more.
Perfect example of why Vince should have just let him have the damn Sting match when he wanted it.
The quality has greatly improved! Good job to the people producing the podcast, kudos
I can listen to Taker for hours. Taker is my all time favorite WWE superstar of all time. One of my favorite matches of all time is HBK vs taker at WrestleMania 25. Mark, thank you for getting me into wrestling.

Stinger is one of the goats! I wouldn't have had him defeat Taker, but I would've had him take him to his absolute limit!
I dont mind watching older Wrestlers still doing their Thing. Of Course some Guys (most Guys) cant perform on a good Level anymore once they turn 50 or 60, but some really can. It always depends on if you stay in good Shape, if you really want to have great Matches and of course how many injuries your Body took over the Years.
Sting (64) was still in great Shape, he moved quick, took moves great and dealed them great. Billy Gunn (60) is also a great example, he is in amazing shape for his Age. I feel like he could still wrestle 10 more Years if he wanted to.
