Keep up the great work man.... I enjoy your videos.... they are very useful... I had to change my own timing chain and didn’t know how, until I came across your videos.
Are there any primary checks to do before ripping off the valvecover and do this? I guess there are some other checks to do before suspecting the timing has become offset when it is hardstarted? By the way, thank you for a very good lesson. Regards Daniel, Sweden
Peter i have yaris with 130,000 km and i have problem that when i ON AC my rpm goes to 800-850 then after 5 min it drops to 650-700 like we have when AC is off and on red light it drops to 550 and comes back to 700 but not return to 850 and when i restart the car the rpm stay 850 for 5 min only and i clean Throttle body and everything else
@@applepoop10 my yaris don't have IAC valve its electronic Throttle body, ecm raise the rpm on load but after few minutes rpm drops to 680-700 even the compressor is ON
Hello Peter im Wayne i love your videos and they have been really helpful to me rebuilding my motor for my 04 toyota carolla CE. My question for you is what do you recommend for me for this issue. My car idles roughly at a stop and it sucks up gas my car has new ignition coils and spark plugs. My car does have way over 299999 miles. Im thinking it could be my vails what do you think bud
I am a bit confused because in your other video you said, the yellow marks must match the small holes. In this video, the yellow marks do not match the lines (holes); and, you still think this is a fine position.
So when you replace water pump on Toyota corolla you have to adjust the timing chain all the time ? Why would replacing the water pump throw off my timing chain?
Is my Toyota engine shot the reason I am doing head gasket and then piston rings because I overheated the engine on freeway and in town a few times so can it be fixed or should I put it in trash
Hello.. What will cause a no start on this engine if the timing is off.. Will the spark plugs not fire.. Or will the fuel injectors not spray fuel? I wasn't clear on why it would not start. Please advise.. Thanks
Excellent analysis Peter!
👍😃
Welldone and great job. Loved your video. Salute 🫡
Thank you so much 😀
Excellent. What is the purpose of 0 to 10 mark on crankshaft pulley?
Thanks.
Great point!

Valvecover is must to open, because we must see the camshaft's top positions.
And if the timing is not OK, then what? How do I fix it if the timing is not OK? What is the purpose of the yellow link on the chain?
You install the timing belt again. Yellow link is marker
@@PeterFinnTheCarDoctorCan you show us how to correctly replace a timing belt.
Do we need to drain the engine oil before changing timing chain or no need?
Thanks, I appreciate your post.

Clean out your IAC valve also known as your Idle Air Control valve. It helps maintain your idle speed depending how much load is on the engine.

Good comments Sirs 👍😃
@@PeterFinnTheCarDoctor what is your reply Mr Peter
I love your videos, they are excellent.
Could you do a video timing a 3ZR-FAE valvematic engine please? I can't find any literature on it.
