She didn't win because she was competing against someone with "disabilities" and people are always so touched and amazed about how a person with "disabilities" can do something special. That's hypocrite. With "disabilities" or not, we are the same.
It was definitely enjoyable, but she made a couple mistakes when going ... "fancy." She usually seems to hit them, though. In this case, just a little more practice would make it flawless.
I think the one big mistake of this performance is the higher note she hits in the "I" of the "I will always love you". I think it's a stylistic choice but it's one that doesn't work at all. It sounds out of tune. As much as I love Leah, this was one of the worst performances in any of the finales.

Whitney did not cover Dolly's original version. Whitney covered Linda Ronstadt's 1975 version of the song. When Dolly found out that they were using Linda's recording as a template for their recording. Dolly called David Foster on the phone, to give him the final verse of the song, which Linda did not included in her recording. David who had go back and lengthen the finished arrangement to include the final verse.

Andrea's voice is scratchy and shakey. Listen to her audition again. Not consistant and NO ONE in any country is paying to hear Andrea sing. I would pay to go to a concert Leah was performing in. Andrea is blind and english so she got votes but by far Leah was a better singer. Not close

Yes, people always refer to Whitney Houston when talking about the originator of this song but Whitney sang Dolly Parton's song and Dolly is the original singer. Dolly's version is just as good and some would say even better, in that country heartfelt way that gives it emotion and pulls on the heart strings. Whitney's was more sterile in comparison if you listen to both.

I don't think so. Even though the voice type may be similar, Will is much much more similar in personality to Leah: quirky, unique, slightly off the wall. Christina isn't like this. Changing the songs up is what Leah does to be unique, and I think Will would support her far more in becoming an original artist and being true to the person she is than Christina would.

Everyone needs to understand that it is her own rendition, that's whats so special about Leah, she doesn't just sing songs exactly like the original e.g. Andrea, and most other talent show singers. That is why she is an artist and not just a contestant on a talent show. She has established herself and stayed true to what she does, so I credit Will fir letting her, as an artist, do what she wants. I'm just seeing this for the first time. Having just got into the current series of The Voice, I thought I'd look up some of the past performers. Wikipedia said Leah was the runner up in this series and there were mentions that the visually impaired woman that won only won because of a sympathy vote. Well, the first video I found was Leah's Minnie Riperton cover of Loving You. I was immediately struck that she has no control and I posted on the video. I have now found this, her final performance. Wow. Without any emotional attachment to any of the performers from this series, I can say that Leah's performance here is really dreadful, and I maintain my opinion that she has no control over her voice. The notes are very good, but like Eric Morecambe once said to Andre Previn in a classic piano sketch, she's "hitting all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!" This song was covered a few years earlier by Lucie Jones on the X Factor as her first audition and she sang it a thousand times better than Leah did here and rightfully got a standing ovation. This performance by Leah lost because of poor control and poor discipline. She has a great voice, but she needs a lot of coaching and direction to learn to sing.
She has more talent than everyone in the world put together. To be a good singer do you really need control? Maybe that's why she's so unique. Because she does not care.
