Just curious, what is the crossover for the Thomann with the "German" taper? I have 3 flugelhorn mouthpieces now, but I ordered all of them from Thomann and just selected the "german" taper from their website. Honestly, the nonbrand that came with the horn seems to fit better than either of the brand names they sent me, which were claimed to be German taper. Both of those seem a little fatter and do not penetrate the lead pipe quite as deeply.
Hi! Great video, lot of info! I've got a doubt and maybe you can help me. I recently bought a Roy Benson flugelhorn (cheap and chinesse but kinda good for its price) and I bought a Bach corp 7CFL used, which was the only one abailable to buy where I live (Uruguay). I'm not sure it's the right taper. It's not the same length of the mouthpiece that came with the flugel and I also read somewhere that this flugel is done based on a yamaha, so it should be a big taper right? But the thing that is weird is that both mouthpiece fit well, neither of them falls too deep like in the video. Do you know how can I figure out which taper is?
one no really? wow that sounds like some of the new Schilke pieces that are also marked "Universal" but don't even fit into some of their own older horns...

Curry Precision mpc used to make the 3 different tapers for each mouthpiece, but now offering only a "universal" taper that fits none no more... 😏

Can you please mention your ebay shop? Looking for a flugel mpc. Thanks!
