This is my favorite of the book, already managed to play it, just a little bit sad the the others don't feel as good as this one.

I am working on this piece - around where should you be in the adult book all in one course 1 before you attempt this piece ? The first three songs in the book seemed much easier. Thanks for adding these videos!

Hi all! I've been taking piano lessons for a year using the Adult Piano series book that is partnered with this book. I just started practicing music off this particular book and have been assigned to learn this piece this week. I'm having a really difficult time learning it and it seems to me that there are a lot more movements here (moving around in the treble cleff a lot more than what I'm used to) and wanted to hear some advice from other learners or teachers. What do you recommend in order to be more confident with learning this beautiful piece??
i know this an old post. but go slow and if it's too hard and demotivating just go to something else. the piece will always be waiting for you!

I found this particular piece hard for me. There's something about my left hand not being independent enough without having to copy what my right hand is playing.
Any tips?
Try this: Sit at your table, and with your left hand start to draw circles about the size of a tennis ball just using your index finger on the table. Keep up a circular motion anti-clockwise.
Now do the same with your right hand index finger, drawing circles at the same pace, and anti-clockwise on the table.
Now change your left hand finger direction to clockwise without changing the right hand finger direction.
Try to keep it smooth and non-faltering. Not easy right?
Use this technique vice versa and try to increase the speed.
However, it goes without saying - keep practicing the piece and it will come. You brain is learning how to use both left and right sides independently and it takes time.

I'd say this piece is in totally the wrong place in the book. It needs to be much much later. I've finished the Adult Piano lessons book and this one still causes me a lot of grief. It's way too much for new students and is likely to put people off.
Probably true. The hand independence is difficult. But it's good training to play a (sort of) repeating phrase in the left hand with a melody in the right. I think I have had to 'come back to' nearly every piece in this book... ;)
Oh so that’s why I’ve been struggling more than usual with it. I learned Jurassic park in a couple sit downs and I’m on sesh 3 and still on this one. Getting it down tho. Independence is there
