Why does it only sound good when using apps like prime or Netflix etc. using it watching freeview tv or virgin box there’s no bass at all,it’s so tinny. Watching no time to die on Blu ray uhd is awesome. But terrestrial tv is no better than the tv speaker
@BobbyGrundy-pn4jx honestly, do you really need it bro lol you don't need surround sound when hearing the news and TV shows. Only content that really matters. Plus you can turn it on when you are watching a good TV show when needed. Plus you don't want to burn out your speakers in everything content.

Hello from Oregon, I just received mine this afternoon from Best Buy, Question? Do I need to do anything or is Atmos automatic when plunged in and paired with my LG C1 OLED? Wasn't sure if I was getting true Atmos. Thank you for the review.
Congratulations on your purchase! I know the awesome feeling 😃 The soundbar automatically defaults to Atmos when it detects Atmos content being played. In addition, a lot of LG TVs, including the C1, include an on/off button located in advanced sound settings, which you must keep in the on position to make sure that your TV is passing the Atmos content through to your soundbar’s processor. Great general review from the soundbar. I live in Canada and some shops have pre-orders for the soundbar, hence I am very tempted to give it a try. Currently I have a LG Oled C2, with Sonos Arc and two Five as sorrounds, but the missing rear Atmos speakers for almost two years plus the fact that it doesn't play DTS X kinda bothers me. Since you mentioned that this soundbar is better than the Sonos, can you elaborate a bit on it? Thanks in advance!
Hey there, I tested the Sonos Arc and was thoroughly underwhelmed, especially after reading the glowing reviews that it tends to earn from websites like Rtings. The sound coming from the soundbar was tiny and lacked immersion in my fairly large living room, even compared to the LG S95QR’s immediate predecessor, the SP11RA, which I tested alongside the Sonos. In my personal experience and opinion, both Samsung HW-Q950A and LG S95QR perform better than the Sonos Arc for movies, and both cost less than even just the Sonos Arc soundbar and sub, without rears. Bought 1 week ago. Excellent sound experience. Dolby Atmos is great. Listening to music is very good. subwoofer quality is very very good. I recommend it.

I Watched this review when first came Out, thank you! I like the bar a lot , even though I thought the Samsung 990bwas a little better sounding with regards to Bass response, crossover & handoff to the rear surrounds. The dropouts were sooo bad on two different 990B I purchased though so I went with LG S95 since I have LG C2. Plus, it’s crazy how few flagship systems have both DTS support & 4K HDMI passthrough, so the LG was my next choice! The movies sound great! I don’t use it for music for the stereo sound isn’t important to me.
Anyways, Anybody have issues with the latest update to the soundbar? My remotes basically don’t work anymore such as soundbar remote & my xfinity cable box remote no longer controls the volume but my LG TV remote still does. Also the auto power only occasionally works…I’ve tried turning off eArc & back on. I also feel as if the subwoofer sounds less powerful, that could be in my head though..
Any advice? Also has anyone noticed improvements with the recent wow orchestra/ wow interface update? Im hoping that the new AI calibration works better with this update.

I’m strongly considering getting this over the Sonos. But the one thing that bums me out is the fact that 4K 120hz pass through isn’t possible. I have a LG C2 and naturally I want to pair this with it mainly for the pass through but since it lacks that I might go with Sonos and get the two Sonos One speakers as backfiring speakers.

Hi. Any problem with the latency of the soundbar?
Nope. None. Everything works seamlessly, with no latency that I can notice. I don’t play video games through the soundbar though, so I can’t speak with authority to the specific gaming aspect.

How would you compare the LG S95QR vs Samsung Q950A? Also, how is the dialog and bass on the S95QR? My issue with the LG soundbar was dialog was vert poor during action sequences. Thanks!
The Samsung Q950A is a solid perfumer. The dealbreakers for me were its fabric finish and the LED display located atop the soundbar rather than in the front, where you can easily see it without having to get up from your seat and walking towards the bar. As for the S95QR, the dialogue and bass are much improved over its two immediate predecessors, the SP11RA (2021) and SN11RG (2020). Hope this helps.
@@aartstrong Thanks for answering. Is the dialog clear and not hollow sounding on the S95QR during active sequences? I went from the LG SN11RG to Samsung Q950T. There was a huge difference in audio. I just don't want to make the same mistake again. Also, how is the S95QR IMAX Enhanced? I heard it's a better DTS:X.

@@Franksmediaandreviews dialogue is clear and satisfying, as far as I can tell, and I’m a big action movie fan. I haven’t thoroughly tested the iMax feature, but I turned on that setting in the app, and I feel that it made the sound even fuller, deeper and more enveloping. Hope this helps.

@@keeyeanlee Hi there. I haven’t actually run the cables through my speaker stands because the power cords provided with the soundbar system wouldn’t reach my power outlets if I ran them through the stands first.
I am considering buying this to pair it with a G2. I understand this does not have 4K passthrough.... Is not having it a red flag? Thanks!

@@aartstrong it doesn't have 4K 120 pass through, but has 4k 60. If your gaming, and your tv has 120hz, best to run your PC or console to the tv then send audio to the bar from the tv using Earc. Your tv needs Earc for this, if not run at 4K 60 by connecting to bar then to tv. Why LG didn't support 120hz on the bar inputs is a real question only they can answer as other manufacturers are doing so.

@@BillyKueekSG I just got mine and the sound is soooooo good. Setup was easy as. Build quality is superb.
I run my consoles straight into the tv and just use E-ARC to pass audio thru to the bar, so no biggie getting 120hz gaming if your tv supports E-ARC and hdmi 2.1 at 120hz. I use the LG C9 oled. The bar supports ALLM and Dolby Vision at 60 hz when connected directly to the bar via hdmi.
The sound is super clear and dynamic high res audio, bass is impactful and dynamic. The dtsx/Neuro is phenomenal as is Dolby Atmos. Music sounds great thru the bar. There are a number of sound modes, my favourite is the AI sound mode, it detects content and changes on the fly as needed. There are ways to adjust the speaker levels independently, but doubt you'll need to after proper AI calibration. There is no graphic EQ adjustment, but the presets are great so its not missed.
I get no audio delay at all with E-ARC, either to the bar from the tv, or from the bar inputs to the tv. There is a audio delay adjust, but it's so flawless i cant see anyone needing this with E-ARC enabled devices, or directly connection to the bar. I never use optical on anything.
I don't use DRC, I leave it off to let the dynamic range soar unaffected by any compression. Its a good feature to have though in case you need to lower volume level for night time viewing, differences from loud noise to voices are even. There is a night mode on the bar as well. Either option, or both used together if you choose to use them works well.
The AI room scanning calibration is subtle, but does add to the immersion. The only thing is, when using tv apps most seem things seem to track in stereo from the youtube app, but its high quality lpcm that seems to track to all the speakers equally. Netflix and other entrtainment apps will switch on the fly to proper dolby/Atmos/or DTS surround sound formats.
The up-firing speakers in both the front and rear speakers do a crazy good job with height separation. The up-firing front middle speaker does great at making dialogue stand out. I have had no problem hearing voices over any sound effects like some other soundbars, its a subtle addition, but a welcome one.
So far there's no Imax enhanced audio I can find to test out.
I think this is probably the best sounding bar I have ever heard. Not sure if the new soundbars from Samsung will top it, they'd have to be pretty meaty to do so. Its probably like comparing apples to oranges, or what works better with your personal setup. I try to stick with all same brand components in my home theatre, like LG soundbars with LG tv, Samsung soundbars with Samsung tvs, Sony with Sony, ect ect. I do this because a lot of tvs and soundbars have features that work specially with one another within the brand that you may not be able to use if you mix match.. Features like the symphony sound in Samsungs newer tvs.
For me, the Q95SR a solid 9 out of 10. If it had all 2.1 ports, I'd have given this bar a solid 10 out of 10. I doubt you'd find better sound without running a very expensive component system. I use mine in a medium size to smallish room, so it works amazing.
I can 100% recommend this bar to anyone, especially owners of a LG oled made after 2021, or the C9 oled models.

Hi there i purchased this soundbr just yesterday do you think i do it weong commecying to wifi because once i watch netflix the internet connection is too slow it keeps loading the movie. and it looks like the sound is not good.
Are you connecting the soundbar itself to Netflix, or are you connecting the soundbar to a smart TV that has the Netflix app installed on it?

@@arkincarlislemayo9062 then you should first check the speed of your internet connection. If your internet connection is reliably fast, your soundbar should perform just fine. For the sound quality of the soundbar, you should try adjusting the bass, sub bass, treble and individual channel volumes on your remote control or in the Smartthings app on your smartphone. Nope
I just got mine yesterday! This is 100x better than the SN11RG. My previous system was the Q950T, which was a good system. I would say the S95QR dialog is just as good as the Q950T, but the S95QR is much more immersive and has better bass. I was able to experience IMAX Enhanced with Bad Boys, and it's definitely better than the usual DTS:X. I just wish their was more IMAX Enhanced 4k movies.
Anyway, I highly recommend this system. It totally surprised how good this was.
Does it auto active your tv's earc function? I have currently a SL10YG and it was just ok on sound quality, but I had sound and video sync issues. I'm hoping Earc eliminates this. I have a C9 oled that I'll be pairing the new bar with, currently ordered this bar last week just awaiting delivery, possibility of a 7 week wait.

I’ve got mine today and the bass seems to not be powerful is there a way to set it up so it’s more stronger on normal tv or cable

@@MrKBhamm Have you played enough with the various sound modes and the individual settings for each speaker in the system? Have you downloaded the LG app and used the extra settings that it offers over the remote? Even the way you position your speakers can have a major impact on the sound you get. Try fiddling with the system a bit and see what you get. Ultimately, my experience may differ from yours, and that is okay. Hope this helps.
@@aartstrong i went from a highend audio system with a denon 2700h to the soundbar because of space. Music is okey now via music mode. Have to look further into that :-) did you use the calibration ? Did it improve the audio or rather not ?
Have you tested imax enhanced
Imax Enhanced movies are Bad Boys For Life, Zombieland, and Jumanji Next Level sound amazing and there is a difference between the regular DTS:X. DTS:X sounds good as a whole, but it did seem like the IMAX Enhanced movies were more immersive. Just wish there was more IMAX Enhanced movies.

@@satyajitroy726 I didn't. I have 3 4k UHD that are IMAX Enhanced. Just gotta Google to see which movies are IMAX Enhanced. There's only a few.
