- Hello and welcome everyone!
To another Northgard game with the Horse clan.
This time with the solid choice in a ranked 1v1.
The horse clan probably has just as much of a spot in
the duel meta, as in the teamgame meta, since it maybe
isn't overpowered or has strategies that can't be stopped by certain clans.
But always has good starts and armies up to defend against rushes
or destroy players that go for greedy strategies.

Not as relevant in a 1v1 game, but I am still baffled why Horse clan isn't considered a support clan by the developers. They literally have them listed as a 1 star support but have one of only a few true support mechanics in the game.
The ability to trade double resources paired with some of the fastest mining in the game means a couple trade routes can quickly give an ally the iron or stone they need and allow them to focus their pop on other tasks.
I have yet to see this captiolized on in any game i have watched on YT other than with my own friends in a private game.
Is it just too slow to be relevant? Or is there some merit here in some strategies?
I have seen it benift raven clan who has a lot of iron needs if they want to max their raids, and a few others situations but we are far from competitive players.
What do you all think? Is receiving double resources a reasonable support trait or does it need to be buffed changed or something else?
I think maybe is fairly more simple than that: it's just that people prefer to keep the resource to themselves LOL. If you're not playing premade, hard to blind trust your teammates without knowing how they will perform, so it's better to keep the very limited resource (iron/stone) to yourself rather than trading.
Furthermore, that's pretty much the only meaningful supporte mechanics, thus why they shouldn't be considered a true support clan.
Why did it take you so long to build your first fields? You had the wood and a bunch of villagers just gathering. There is no reason not to build that earlier and have the extra food for winter
