Ooo, this got me thinking! I've made honey lemon jelly in the past, and I think it would be good to make cranberry/honey/lemon jam. Thanks for another fun video!
I made this jam a couple of weeks ago. I just put the cranberries in a pot, added enough water to cover the berries, bring to a boil, then lower the heat to a simmer. Stir frequently so nothing burns. I added drained pineapple chunks to my cranberry mix and a bit of demerera brown sugar to sweeten to taste. I don't like to use a lot of sugar either. If you simmer it long enough it will be reduced to a jammy substance then you can spoon it into a jar and refrigerate. Turned out pretty good!! I like your mix with all the extra stuff...I'll try that next time.
I made a cranberry, orange, almond conserve jam kind of stuff. It is amazing. I canned them up in the pretty crystal 12oz jars thinking they would make great gifts. Honestly though I am hoarding it. I also made jellied cranberry. Very easy and way healthier and better then the store stuff. Love your videos
I love your interaction with "the camera operator". You guys do fun content and it's always nice to find a new video in the middle of the day. Have an awesome day!
Thanks Tommy, The CO isn't always available when we shoot a show, ( work and life get in the way! ) but its great to have her here. always good questions.
Yes we definitely missed you! Glad to hear you're voice. This looks like a great recipe. I actually have some of everything you put in there so I'm going to try it. Happy New Year you guys!
Eric, Zest the orange to get essential oils and don't use the pith of the orange, only the fruit part. The pith has a bitter taste and can mask a lot of the flavor. - Dave
Beautiful jam! I think that would be delicious on top of brie cheese or pâté! It would also be great to finish a sauce to accompany any venison meat. Sorry French Canadian here, my mind just go wild for these kind of food ;)
yes, you can cook it a few mintues less, but make sure you taste it so you like the flavor before the canning. it will thicken a bit more while in the canning bath. thx! eric.
Hi all. I wanted to make just one jar so we would use it up and not waterbath this time. tasts wonderful not to sweet. try this gardenfork . 2 cups cranberrys, 1/2 cup water, 1/8 cup maple syrup, 1 cup sugar. when comes to boil cook 20 mins. use stick blender or any other kind and blend, makes a not to chunky jam for bread. I do not like real sweet anything. thanks for your recipe.
This is more like preserves not jam. Jam is pureed preserves has whole fruit or chunks in it and jelly is the juice. To make this stuff you need to use a thermometer and bring it to 118F. Making 24 pints right now half with ghost pepper. Love the dog and thank you for the video.
Can I use half sweetner and half sugar? Will it still set? I love cranberries. Healthy for women. I love your helpers. My helper is Sammy, a chocolate lab

+Eye on art Yes! cranberry jam is super for pancakes! eric.
How's it different from cranberry sauce?
I have 1 bag cranberries, 1 orange, ginger and some sugar.... And no I know what to make with it! Thanks Eric!
Use What You Got™ sir! eric.
I am going to make a mini batch with leftover cranberries. THANKS, your vids make me giggle. ;)
I made the Jam today. Kinda tart with a zing of sweet. Easy to do!
jewels454
great to hear, i like tart and a bit of sugar. eric.
you can use real maple syrup as the sweetener instead of sugar
Do u think adding cinnamon will make it still taste good?
not sure about cinnamon, why not try it on a small portion of a test batch? eric.
ok thanks I'll try that
thanks
marmalady = new word! great video
yes! maybe it should be "marmalade-y" ? thx,, eric.
What happened to the seeds ?
Those cranberries you used were absolutely huge. You don't find them like that in the wild :-) And they might do what to one's teeth?
the berries are kinda hard, and i was joking, but they might crack a filling! eric.
The orange has pectin as well.
what about the seeds?
Cranberries don't have much in the way of seeds. thx!
Jimin's Jam....
