been to dsm in both ginza, london and nyc. I have to say it is hands down the greatest fashion store there is. The amount of creativity and effort put in to that store is amazing.
I've been in DSM in London and NY and i love it soooo much. You will find alot of clothes that really fit your style because there is so much variety in one place. It is more than a fashion store, it's an experience! I think even people who are not into fashion would like it because it feels a bit like a museum.
I actually never went to the dover street market in london. But I have been to the little dover street market in paris and they recently opened the Dover street parfums market which also looked super nice and had beauty and if I remember correctly skincare products too. Next time I am in London I gotta go check out the og
Cool story of mine was going to Dover street NY mad early and when walking up saw a beautiful rolls Royce all white parked outside with a driver in it but didn’t think much of it so I head in and instead of the elevator I took the stairs to the Rick floor where I ran into Rocky in the stairwell and ended up chatting for a minute , now I always take the stairs just in case
Got to visit the location in Singapore last year. Having never seen the clothes of like 99% of the designers they feature in person was probably why i didn't realize how interesting the store itself looked until the flight home. I don't think they go in as hard on the brand specific displays there as they do in London, but it was still a nice experience. The staff were all nice too :)
If Looks Could Kill By Destroy Lonely: I just like to ball hard, ball like Dellavedova (Dellavedova) Don't shop at Dover's (Nah) Don't shop at Neiman's (Nah, no)
For someone living in a city with veryl ittle Designer/Interesting Brands Stores, visiting DSM in New York City was crazyyyyyy. All these brands I've only seen online now in my hands.
Ive been to the london one and the little market in paris, the london employees were super nice, iirc the vetements staff stood there a solid 10mins talking with me about the state of the fashion industry hahaha
@axntt I think his point with this line was that now he doesn’t have to shop at Dover’s because industry connects such as Matthew M Williams send him free stuff and his other stuff is archive/vintage. Still funny tho
Been going to Dover in Manhattan coppin Supreme before people even knew Dover holds Supreme. Shoutout to dsm i copped alota good drip from there and the employees are cool.
I was actually in London for the Lone show, and decided to visit DSM, the staff and even security and other customers were super friendly however the staff at Balenciaga were so pretentious and grey in classic Balenciaga tradition
when i was in london i went to selfridges and my dad was like we should go to dover street market so we went and it was shut but there was ppl in there my dad was not happy
Took my teenage son into Zara today. Thought we might check some starter pieces for him. Ten minutes later he's off to Game Stop and I'm buying myself a closeout puffer coat for forty dollars. And he didn't find any good funkos. Ha. It was a wonderful afternoon. (oh yeah and this was fascinating, thanks! will hit the LA one)
I've been to the one in LA, idk if it was permanent or not and it was cool. Probably spent a half hour just walking around. Sadly its mostly like M/L stuff not a lot of size variety. Knowing it is owned by CDG makes a lot of sense now.
I live near NYC and now I really want to go visit the DSM there it’s only about an hour away. I’m very tempted from this video. I had no idea the store was so conceptual I thought it was just a bunch of brands that Rei likes and she wanted to curate a store for them. Another great video 🙏🏻🫡
Bro do a background check on Christopher Nemeth next, very intersting story. I mean a UK designer moving to japan, that's the anti fashion of Yohji and Rei Kawekubo of Comme des Garçons' Comme des Garçons (of Comme des Garçons).
@@fashionlover4 For sure, I'm not having a dig, Nemeth is not very well covered or talked about engouh IMO, but the little I know of him sounds very interesting.
THANK YOU BRO I AM HEADIN NEXT WEEK LONDON. Some Other recommondation?? Stuff in the range of 100 to 500 max. Maby as well scnd hnd but not like a trash Vintage loaded with everything more of a one with Designer n nice brands all around. Like dover steet market stuff just scnd hnd:))) I would be grateful thank you
DSM sells trendy garbage. Go and feel the clothes yourself it’s literally outlet designer. I almost pulled the heel off of a Margiela Tabi when I was grabbing it from the shelf because it’s literally glued on. If you think I’m hating go and see and feel the clothes yourself. I think this reflects the overall downfall of fashion in the past 10 years. Corporate greed has bled into everything including fashion.
Some of the staff are friendly and up for a chat, others are VERY cold and just look down on you. Gotta find the right people to talk to!
Yea I heard the newyork store is H e ll
they prob look down on you for a reason, you look poor or dress bad
@@ChickenKormaGarlicnaan do you know any cool friendly stores I can go to?

Yea that's the vibe I got reading about it, management can also be shitty but I feel like that's the retail for you really anywhere you go

Love the layout of the one in NYC, the LA one is close second to me

I hope I made you proud

I really appreciate your research and explanation of what DSM is, and how it works for the vendors.
tip re: dsm shopping: elevator up to the top floor and walk down. you really dont want to start with the basement. thank me later
Yea you right but then you don't end with some cakes
Elevator has been out of order everytime I've been, so sod walking all that way lol

Hot tip: when they reopen after renovation they have free baked goods and Prosecco
when i had their prosecco a few months ago it got me a little buzzed and I impulsivly spent wayyy too much money on a pair of cdg socks hahaha

Hopefully some time this year!
Fashionlover4 mixtape when!?!?!
Can't shop at DSM. Lone followed up on a new track, clearly stating "Don't shop at dover". Sorry.
You should have seen Atelier New York back in its heyday. Jeez that store blew everything out of the water!!
I clicked thinking this would be an actual market market 😂
But they do actually play music
Also my favorite was the little Ann D display from early 2022
They sell "Vans" - yeah, tres avant garde!
Gucci (Kering) is right next to Loewe (LVMH) in DSM.

NYC staff is very nice imo
Don’t shop at Dovers
