I am a traveling nurse for the VA. I often do a music exchange with my patients to break the ice. You show me yours, I'll show you mine type of thing. I often share this.
From 19 to 85, my patients have related to this. And that line in particular. ❤

No matter how many people I see react for the first time to this song, one of my favorite things is the confusion they have at the start where he does the yodel part, but the total understanding, appreciation for, and acceptance of it at the end. I'd like to recommend that you DON'T tell people about him having an immunity illness, and let him reveal it in the spoken word at the end. One of the great things about this whole thing is he kind of tells his story in a reverse order. You see the battle first, and then he sheds light on what the battle is, why he has it, and how he manages it with the spoken word at the end. I'd also like to see your brother back for more Ren. The three Tales videos, The Hunger, as much as he's willing to sit for.

This reaction was fire! I loved it when Danny said, "and he sings too" - I thought the exact same thing the first time I saw Hi Ren. After being mesmerized by the performance and lyrics and guitar and visuals for 7 minutes, and then he started singing? I was all in at that point! Really enjoyed this and hope you bring Danny back for more Ren! I would definitely recommend the roller coaster effect by maybe doing one of the busking videos and maybe Seven Sins.

I had watched the episode on Pegasus’ channel first after saying I wasn’t going to watch it many times because it was flooding the reaction channels & I’m so glad I chose to watch on his channel first because, then he was doing the episodes showing everyone else, including yourself Joey.

I love the brilliance and insight of recognizing how that shadow-self-voice is and has always been present 'since the dawn of creation' - i.e. has had names in every culture, every civilization, of which he named a few more recent, well-known ones. The 'archetypes' basically. And the contrast of "some people know me as Hope" again, an ageless archetype. It's so wide-reaching he got us _all_ in one fell swoop.

Great breakdown! First off, YES, definitely bring little bro back for more. He’s only dipped his pinky toe into the Ren ocean (btw, that’s another great Ren collaboration song). I have to say that I feel for his cold first time viewing of Hi Ren, he pretty much picked up what Ren is putting down. In regards to this song and the multitude of reactions to it, I feel one thing seems to get missed. I’ve watched at least 3 dozen reactors watch this and while I love all the pausing for the informative insight on the audio, video and performance, I do think it hurts the true impact of what Ren is doing. I know everyone mentions it, but until you sit and watch it straight through, you can’t really appreciate the combination of just the taxing physicality of the playing and vocals (done simultaneously) to go 7+ minutes non stop (before he sets the guitar down). Throw in the timing and the memory of the lyrics for those 7+ minutes. Just incredible. There is so much to choose from as far as little bro’s next Ren, but I suggest either “Power”, “What You Want”, “Life is Funny” or “Genesis” for the next one.

I love how Ren manages to forshadow the final poem with the lights when he was singing just before.
When "suffering Ren" talks, the lights flicker and its kind of unsettling. When "real Ren" talks, light stay on bringing a sense of relief.
At the end he embraces both Rens and the flickering of the lights not only now feels right, but actually empowers his voice.

Yes, exactly; you DO feel like it’s two people having a conversation because the way Ren performs is so convincing. Apart from all his other talents, he is a natural actor and a brilliant story teller. I think that is why time has no meaning when I’m watching him because I’m so engrossed in the performance, and so it’s really jarring when it is over and I come back to reality.
I am not sure what I enjoyed the most watching Danny be amazed or watching you watching him! He articulated his observations so well for a first reaction. Y’all’s chemistry is so effortless and authentic! Please bring him back for more reactions! This was the highlight of my day!❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
