Jim Broadbent nailed it
GENIUS - we still have the video recording from when it was first aired. For us oldies that remember , and loved the original detectives, this episode is LEGENDARY with a select group of our mates! The lines are priceless. " I'm a ten Gov a day man " " Minicab for the Bullshitters" still freakin cracks me up. And Jason Bentley/King - well, indeed-e deed -e , he's just so hushy hushy . Comedy masterpiece x
‘ I remember when there were ships on the Tyne...big ships.........................with funnels ‘ 😂
Who's the squatter!?
Shat it
Northern ponce
One of my very favourite things Iv seen, so funny and totally nailed the characters from the Sweeney / The Professionals / Spender / Jason King. All superb but Broadbent nailed it 👌🏽🙌🏽👏🏽
SHUT IT!!!!
And whilst especially copying The Professionals and the same always that everyone can do copying with The Equalizer as well by copying Edward Woodward as Robert McColl

It's not mid-seventies bullsh*t it's THIS! BANGING TABLES AND SHOUTING LOUDLY!
4:17 I look all around me, and I think it's shockin'
Then I park ma car, it's got central lockin'
Pure genius , one of the best Brit comedy skits ever made!
I'm a ten Guv a day Copper .. brilliant..
'All you eliminated was five bottles of Claret'
Both the 'Fives', 'Cheques' and 'Detectives' remain the Comic Strip at their best - NEVER get old/stale - always enjoy watching. Plus a relative of mine is actually in the force so any time we meet up ~(family/weddings etc). myself and my eldest WILL do the "I'm a Copper" routine at some point - drives him mental. GREAT STUFF!
I’m a copper who takes his time
I live in a world of villains and crime
A look all around me an a think it’s shockin
Then a park me car It’s got central lockin
Keith Allen playing himself, as usual.
Great episode. Given the piss take of The Bill at the end, it's funny how you could recreate the exact same premise with the different eras and styles of The Bill itself; 1984-1989, 1990-1997, 1998-2003, 2003-2007, 2008-2010.
Love the Jason King parody in this.
Indeedy-deedy!
🎵 Shut up freeze and cover me, cover me and freeze, shoot in’ straight with a 38, firing from your knees 🎵 😂
Shuuuut uuuuup
Jim Broadbent
Such a fantastic episode. This and GLC are my faves.
Interesting to see the influence this and The Comic Strip Presents generally had on Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. There’s a LOT of Hot Fuzz in this.
Broadbent
‘....he ain’t like us, a surge of boots, he wears expensive Armani suits ‘ 😂
Or ‘Five go mad in Dorset’. “Blah blah blah Mr knuckles. Blah blah blah atom bomb! Blah blah blah leave it out blah blah blah!” Not to mention gay uncle Quentin from Crossroads. Sheer genius!
I always thought is was "... in search of boots...". Live 'n learn, eh GUV?
“In serge [the material police uniforms are made from] and boots.”
We want our guns baaaack!!
"Guv! Guv! Guv! Guv! Guv! Guv! Guv! Guv! Guv!"
GUVNAR
‘ ...I care about women’s knickers...what are u wearing ? ‘😂😂😂
This truely was the best episode they made... and I still use quotes to this day while gaming.
Shooting straight with a .38, firing from the knees!
The Bullshitters & the Yob.... Classic
Mini moke!

Shuuuut uuuuuup

Guv.....!!!,
@@milligan8838 Listen here nobody calls me Guv.
Why don’t we do it MY way???
why no ending
At 25 minutes, Spanker (Spender) answers his phone whilst in the car chase and as he answers whoever is calling him, he responds "Ah Tickner man" - I've been trying to find out the geordie slang of "tickner" but I can't find it. I guess it means "Yes, I'm OK thanks, but I need to know the actual word of anyone can help?
ticker short for tickety boo - everything's ok, but northern slang it's ticker.
In the bbc tv series Spender which Spanker is based on, the titular detective’s sidekick is called Stick so I think it’s a name change sort of thing.
Hope that helps
Shuuuut iiiiit
The rendering is out of order. Backwards.
I'm still a 10 guv a day man.. 😂
