    Coconut water, green tea, or chicken broth always help me feel better. White rice and boiled eggs when I feel ready for solid food.

    I’m not even through the video yet but just had to come here to say thank you and this was SO timely and I’ve never clicked so fast, I have been having the same stomach issues for the last little while, I even told my husband it feels like the lining of my stomach is just inflamed and my stomach doesn’t want to accept any food right now… so thanks for sharing!!! I will definitely make some of these things!!!

    This is so excellent for me. I have digestive issues, even to the point of having had my colon removed. It can be really challenging for me when I'm having flareups. I will add your recipes to my "Flare-up Time" routine! Thank you!
    My go-to has always been pastina. Like you, I slowly add more substantial things to it as I start to feel better - spinach, some chicken, onto broccoli and so on. Pastina is my "mother food", as a Sicilian-American!'

    Great video Cafe Maddy! I deal with stomach problems. I make cucumber water to help reduce from overeating. Cucumber water is a low calorie drink which makes it easy to feel refreshed or full so you won't overeat. Also I like eating cucumbers because it is easy for my stomach. Eating other vegetables is hard for my stomach so I eat cucumbers.

      :) love that we share a similar experience in such different countries. What do you like to put in your chao?

    • @Soulfood_Thao
      @Soulfood_Thao 4 місяці тому +1

      Yes, I also love to see all the similarities in food around the world. My latest favorite recipe is with Shitake mushrooms, carrots and onions. Just blend them in a food processor and fry them in a pot until the onion is translucent. After that I wash the rice and put it in the pot with a lot of water. You can also use leftover rice. It will cook much faster. That's it. Easy and really delicious. At the End I like to top it with some scallions or optional add some crunchy fried onion and some pepper.
      In vietnamese cuisine we have a lot of Chao variations. You can also cook it with chicken (Chao ga) and eat it with goi =(cabbage Salat with the in Chao cooked chicken meat, herbs and a wonderful fish sauce vinegrett, seafood (Chao do bien) or duck (Chao vit). But this recipes takes more time to cook. ♥️🥰☺️

    Good tips, I took some notes. I hope your digestion has improved. I usually chose ingredients as simple as possible when my stomach is bad. I eat fruits or vegatables or small portions of oat meal or natural cereals with almonds milk. I reintroduce milky products totally at the end after I fully recovered. My doc prescribed me pills for acid reflux. It makes miracles. Btw I remeber very well the eclips, because I couldn't see it, I was in Busan celebrating my birthday!

    hello there maddy!!... I know all too well about tummy troubles.... keeping a journal when the tummy is bothering you can really aid in what's going on.... when different things are happening at once sometimes they overlap n can mean different things so it's important to be able to check n if you find you need to see a specialist bring the journal with you n your doctor will be very proud n anyone reading this gathering info is the 1st step to learning more about your body tummy n understanding is this normal or something more.... when my tummy is bothering me I'd stop all food for 24/hrs n look for easy hydration (meaning you're not putting anything inside that causes the body to work harder only smarter n drinking plain coconut water nooo extras like pineapple/mango/ect because different fruits can be harder for the body to digest or certain fruits veggies grains ect can make you potty or bind you causing constipation n all while you're wanting to feel better.... I did read some comments 1 on cucumbers n though cucumber adds hydration n potassium back into the body unless you normally eat cucumber I'd stay away from it even cucumber water because it can agate cause constipation bloating n more.... many foods ingredients n beverage can add or subtract varying levels of tummy-town-troubles.... there's alot to talk about n share with eachother n to find out that one ingredient may cause discomfort or an allergy can be just as helpful as it can be disheartening.... plain apple sauce, banana, greek yogurt, tuna can in water, peanut butter n munching on saltines or salted pretzels is super helpful n these items are easily digestible while our bodies are trying to repair.... I could've gone on n on about the subject (kinda did) n what works for 1 may not work for another but geez when something works n helps that means sooo much!!! I'd be happy to email back n forth it's a lifelong project because our bodies are constantly changing n being we're girl's the monthly gifts only add to tummy-town troubles.... fun fun fun!!... hope alls well n maybe we can help eachother along the way on our life journeys!!!
    ❤️🪷❤️

    Great recipes & video, thank you! Late last year, I had to go on a very strict, close to zero fat alkaline-only diet a couple of months before getting my gallbladder removed. If I ate any of the trigger foods you described, I would pay for it dearly pretty much right after consumption. I wound up eating a lot of the very same foods you mentioned here (save for rice - I couldn't even eat that!).
    Just as a precaution, and because I don't wish the kind of pain I experienced on anyone, it may be a good idea to get your gallbladder checked to see if it's full of gallstones. Fatty, greasy, and/or acidic foods can cause awful flare-ups that can become incredibly painful. I was very surprised to learn that gallbladder removal surgery is actually quite common! At any rate, good luck to you, Maddy 💛

    There are a few things of cultural shock to me!
    Firstly that packaged cabbage juice! My grandmom would kick me out of the house if she saw me drinking that. She has always told me that packaged food is unhealthy and processed and cannot replace the nutritional value that homemade cabbage juice provides.
    Similarly for the use of air fryer. My parents brought one but after being told off by a radiologist that air fryers are a gimmick product and might be unhealthier, we stopped using it!
    When I compare my Indian diet with yours I find that we almost have the same frequency of eating habits. It's the genes ideally which I believe result to that world reknowned korean beauty!
    Nice video! Keep it up!

    My staples when I’m having digestive issues are rice, potatoes, toast, and home cooked caldo de pollo (chicken soup) like we make here in Mexico ❤ I actually had to eat almost exclusively that with a few other things for almost six months, slowly introducing other foods, because I was so sick back in 2022. • @sirah.a
      @sirah.a 4 місяці тому +1

      @@CafeMaddy Hi, I didn't expect a reply, haha. Firstly, I soak a cup of long grain/basmati rice in water for an hour or so. Soak a cup of brown/green lentils for the same time. You need to fry 2 large, thinly sliced onions until golden brown. I remove about 70% of the onions from the pot and add the lentils and 1 tbsp of cumin seeds, toasting everything until you can smell the cumin seeds. Then, add 3 cups of water to the pot. Be careful because it will spit when the water hits the pot, so I'd pour it a little at a time. Cook for 15ish minutes. Then add the rice, stir gently, and cook for another 15ish minutes. Remove it from the heat and let it sit for a few minutes before you dig in. Add all the extra fried onions to the top of the rice before serving. You can have it with plain yoghurt; it's a gentle and inexpensive meal. If you don't want to use dried lentils, you can use tinned if that's easier; then you can add the lentils to the cooked rice and add the rice when you add the cumin and follow the same cooking instructions. Sorry this has become longer than anticipated; I hope this helps and sorry if it doesn't, haha.
