Our countdown includes Buttercup from "The Powerpuff Girls" (1998-2005), Squidward Tentacles from "Spongebob Squarepants" (1999 - ), Stewie Griffin from "Family Guy" (1999-2003; 2005 - ), Ren Höek from "The Ren & Stimpy Show" (1991-96), and more! Oh, Squidward for sure. I work with the human incarnations of Spongebob and Patrick; my one colleague even has a "dumb guy" voice like Patrick. You can guess how much I relate to Squidward.
In all honesty, due to my anger issues I can totally relate to every entry on this watchmojo list. Especially Squidward and Benson.

That could factor into it, too. There’s a case to be made there.
That is the main reason why. Her parents were perfectionists who valued achievements over affection and instilled a "win at all cost" attitude in her, which made her highly aggressive and short-tempered because she was never taught to know her limits. That's also why she is so bent on nurturing Anais' gifted intellect and encouraging Gumball and Darwin to be more ambitious while also trying hard not to repeat the mistakes of her parents.
It's also the main reason why she loves Richard despite his immaturity and stupidity; because unlike her parents, Richard is always there for her whenever she needs emotional support and gives her all the affection she never got from her parents.

Same here. That said, Squidward has a good, genuine, reason for being angry all the time. And, yeah, sure he thinks he’s better than everyone else, but that doesn’t make it okay to let SpongeBob give him the business every now and again.

Here's an honorable mention: Candace from Phineas and Ferb. She's often driven to insanity trying to bust her brothers.
Only because she need to just let herself enjoy having fun with her brothers. the episode where she does get along with them, even pets Perry the platypus, are automatic good episodes in my book

While she may may lean closer to misunderstood, Raven from Teen Titans was pretty angry. Also, Vicky from Fairly Odd Parents comes to mind.

I can relate to Benson and Squidward the most. As a kid I used to love them for their anger issues, but now I relate to them more than any cartoon character XD
What about Poison Ivy who can get a little heated when someone harms plant life or her friend now love interest Harley Quinn?
The Earl of Lemongrab. The dude is constantly in a bad mood and is constantly shouting when the smallest of things seems UNACCEPTABLE!!!! to him. Not to mention when he gets real angry, he's freaking scary (like having sharp teeth and looking demonic in some cases)

I don't blame her though. When your boss is someone as strict as Mr. Herriman on your case all the time or Bloo causing as much trouble as he can, I'll always be mad myself. Especially since she's the show's biggest punching bag

To respond to both comments:
1. Frankie's not an angry character. Most of her released anger is because of Bloo and Herriman. When they're not pissing her off, she's a very kind, loving character.
2. That would be pretty predictable. #1 would either be SpongeBob, South Park, or the Simpsons.

Also Quagmire as he quick to be defensive and put everyone around him to impossible standers well not admitting he not perfect himself and putting everyone and everything to impossible standers shows you can set yourself and that person for a hardfall much like Steven in Steven universe or Diane in Bojack as they put things to impossible standers that backfired on theme

There was also a moment when he encouraged his class to beat up a student from the gifted class. That just goes to show how evil he really is.

As someone who has dealt with anger management in the past, I identify most with Raphael and Squidward as a combo.
How did Squidward get #2? He almost lost his voice in one episode. So, he should’ve been at #1.

Yea…while Grey Griffin almost lost her voice when voicing Lola’s tantrums.
He killed his "father" for his "half brother" and his mother for tricking him out of money. That alone makes him the angriest animated character on this list.
Azula should be on this list, too.
How about this honorable mention?: Henry Bear from the Looney Tunes franchise. He is a dwarf-sized father bear with violent anger issues. He would brutally beat up his own son, Junior, whenever he does something stupid or annoying. Especially when he saved him from a near suicide attempt. He’s even mean to his own wife as well. Whenever she tries to reason with him, he would simply tell her to shut up. His uncontrolled temper has always been the causes of his own problems and it literally gets him and his family into serious trouble. In one episode, his temper drove him to the point of nearly killing himself over a slight misunderstanding.
Rath from Ben 10, should've been on the list. "LEMME TELL YOU SOMETHIN WATCHMOJO!"

They forgot Sarah from Ed,Edd,and Eddy,Catra from She ra and the Princesses of Power,Bumper from Johnny Test,Rick from Rick and Morty,Batman from The Batman cartoons,Cotton Hill from King of the Hill,Tom from Star vs the Forces of Evil,Gideon from Gravity Falls,and some others.
Son gohan (who rarely gets angry but when it happens u don’t want to be anywhere close) and especially the hulk (who whenever he appears is angry) should be on this list too
What about Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic X as I've noticed unlike most Sonic media Knuckles has extreme anger issues in Sonic X such as blaming Sonic for getting them all stranded on Earth and even getting into an intense fight with him

First of all, let's get something straight: Ren's surname is pronounced ho-eck, not hawk! More importantly, there is no fount of anger in any animated universe that equals the endless overflow of rage that is Ren Hoek. America's favorite Asthma Hound Chihuahua is just a few gamma rays shy of presenting the same level of world-ending threat that the Hulk does - like Bruce Banner, Ren is *always* angry. Only the Happy Helmet can come between Ren and impending global catastrophe!! (Now cue Stinky Whizzleteats.)

*Mickey Mouse - South Park
-The only other character on South Park with the rap sheet to rival Cartman is THIS version of the beloved Disney icon. Do NOT be fooled, this version of Mickey is NOTHING like the traditional Mickey we all know and love. He's a ruthless, uncaring, maniacal tyrant who's willing to resort to some cruel and quite frankly, dickish methods to get what he wants.

-"ANDREW!"
*Gregly - Big City Greens
-An irate boy with a seemingly constant chip on his shoulder, this minor character was introduced in season 2 and is known for screaming many of his lines. Although he does say that bird watching DOES relax him.
*Eddy - Ed, Edd & Eddy
-Greedy, arrogant, and ready to blow when things go awry, it makes you wonder why Ed and Double D are even friends with Eddy in the first place.
Wouldn't Sarah fit the anger profile better given all her fits of rage?

Ren Hoëk was so angry, he started talking calm and he’s trembling. That’s terrifying.

• Trina Riffin (Grojband; including her anger "diary mode" in every episode)
• Twilight Sparkle (My Little Pony Friendship is Magic; can be seen she bursts into flames in anger once in "Feeling Pinkie Keen")
You forgot Retsuko from Aggretsuko. She's so relatable! And she sings death metal as stress relief!
I feel like Benson should’ve been closer to the top because his anger can be quite dangerous. In fact, in that one episode where Pops told him to chill out, he held back his anger so much it nearly destroyed everything. And shockingly, in the scene where he lets it out, it took so much for Sam Marin to pull off the delivery that he actually developed a migraine from it.
Damn really? He really deserves more credit. That is dedication to a roll.
Damn right his anger is dangerous, i still remember the episode where Benson bottled up his anger and it almost destroyed the park and he made Mordecai and Rigby go deaf when he released his anger.

Dan should’ve definitely made the list. Also Raph may be hypocritical at times but he’s nowhere near the hypocrite his brother Leo was in that series.
I can relate to some of the characters on the list like Nicole and Squidward, mostly because of my life experiences and because they have to deal with a lot. With Nicole, she has to deal with the fact she is basically the only real parent who acts like an adult in her house and she had two parents who were either cynical or had anger issues. With Squidward, well watchmojo just listed all the reasons.
The only character I can say I could never fully relate to is Eric Cartman, who has repeatedly killed the loved ones of people who have mocked him the past. Also to answer watchmojo’s question on where his behavior comes from: it came from his mom’s side of his family because all of the members of his mom’s family act exactly like him, which can be seen in the episode titled “Merry Christmas Charlie Manson”
Benson and Nicole are only 8th and 7th place?
He turned into a sun when he bottled his anger, and she can make the world tremble with a snap.
I'm assuming Vegeta and Zuko are on completely different lists.

Nicole, when I was young, I used to look up to her(along with Anais), she was way better than Gumball and Darwin because her anger is reasonable and she’s a feminist icon, but “The Hero” episode in season 2, she’s right to get mad at Gumball and Darwin, but the tone in that scene, it’s so hard to look at her nowadays because I used to look up to her

I mean, the harsh scolding is one thing, but the entire tone in that scene feels like it’s more on painting Nicole and Anais as Toxic Misandrists and that disgusts me

When I was a kid, I used to think Ren Hoek was a Rabbit LOL especially I used to think Benson was even angrier than Nicole Watterson just because Benson easily turned into a sun, destroyed the park but possibly the world and then possibly get mad VERY LOUDLY back when he was turned into a sun and then easily destroyed M&R (Mordecai and Rigby’s) ears but I do agree with Nicole despite that Nicole is a mom especially Nicole has temper whenever the family messed up considering that Gumball, Darwin, and Richard are quite stupid though.
