Thank you Ari! Your passion, compassion, and honesty are a great combination. I love the academy you’ve set up - the software and your excellent videos have helped me confirm much of my plan and consider new scenarios that I’m exploring.
Thanks for sharing this. I found your history interesting. I also had bad advisor experiences (pitching front-end load investments and then resigning from company with my commission, telling me paying cash for medical and using my HSA as an investment account is not smart, or stating they are not allowed to give me tax advice). I've searched for holistic advise and finally gave up on advisors. I think James and you both have great podcasts and I've been telling my friends and family about them. I've done so much research and have never come close to the great data and easy explanations you both provide.
Well said!! The financial industry is gross. Love that professionals like you and James are out there creating awareness to the unethical moves that happen behind the scenes and then providing a better way!!
I love that you made this video! I knew some of it but not in this detail. I'm so happy for you and the whole Root team that you understood this type of retirement planning would benefit so many people. You didn't just accept the norm and saw there was a better way. Your passion and dedication to this is amazing. Keep up the great work!
"STOP Doing These 5 Things To Enjoy Your 50s And 60s More: Wow, this video really opened my eyes to common pitfalls that can impact our enjoyment of later years. The financial advisor's insights were eye-opening, especially highlighting how small changes can lead to significant improvements in lifestyle and financial security. Can't wait to apply these tips!"
I just stumbled on your site yesterday. I like what you’re doing here. Thank you for being informative and creating awareness for my retirement planning.
Excellent! Knowing your why and what drives you is very important. In my own life, bad experiences have led to some great ones. They also help to clarify what it is that we really want. Thank you for that!
Appreciate you sharing your story, puts a little more humanity to it, rather than just numbers. Your videos have been very insightful for me, in figuring what things to think about with my plans
Thank you Ari for your open and honest story! I completely get it when you said how you “felt it” when you met James and started working with him. I am recently early-retired and doing fine financially thanks to luckily having done the right things without knowing it, and thinking my next step might be to share this knowledge with others to help them be successful in preparing for their retirement. Since my background is not financial, maybe will be more as a financial coach rather than as an official CFP, but will see. I have learned a ton from you as well as confirmed what I informally already knew, and hope I will be able to find the right spot for me where I can help others while at the same time I am fulfilled by “feeling it” as you did and kindly shared with us!
Have not watched this yet, but looking forward to it. Thank you so much for all the insightful videos. I am profoundly, preternaturally risk-averse - but watching your content (and James C’s) has enabled me to consider different perspectives and tactics.
Thanks for sharing your story Ari. I learn a lot from you and James. I listen to your podcast and James' while I'm driving, working out. I'm not a financial major but I should have been. I just find all the financials stuff fascinating because you and James make financial stuff fun. I'm no where being financial savvy but at least I don't feel like an idiot talking to a financial advisor and asking all the right questions.
Ari - great introduction. I have a similar passion for volleyball so I can completely relate. My daughter played D1 softball starting 2020 and had a similar experience to you. Your talk resonates and makes you even more personable. Trust is important.
Appreciate that, Amy. Sorry to hear about your daughter’s experience. My brother now helps people who went through experiences like your daughter (and me) for a living.
Thank you for letting your UA-cam community get to know you better. I'm always interested in the background of people that I'm dealing with. I've been wanting to know more about you. I thought it was weird that my son's 401(k) account only gives a few options, and only 1 from T Rowe Price. It is the wide variety of different accounts of different institutions.
Honestly didn't expect to end up at the pitch. Pretty cool. Next step, broker check, CRS, Adv etc! So cool! Made me want to put my 65 to use sbd get my CFP. You should have been a Gaucho!!
Thanks for this video. So question on the early retirement academy, does it have full access to different tax strategies upon retirement? That is what im really in need of help on for early retirement.
Thanks for sharing your background and experiences, I appreciate your love and dedication to providing holistic financial advice that is so valuable to me and others around the country. Ron Buckley
Love the content you bring us! Thanks for the background I love it. One thing you said stuck out at me and was looking for some clarification when you were talking about financial advisors not being happy with some things that You're saying about rebalancing(9:05) - you said don't rebalance(8:40ish). Can I get clarification on the statement about not rebalancing. Is there a video I can go to? I could not find one in my search. James had one about three different ways to rebalance but I could find nothing for you. And I'm even more confused about his three ways to rebalance and your comment about don't rebalance.😵💫 Help! Thanks
Our philosophy is simple: rebalance when it makes sense and don’t when it doesn’t. Most advisors say “I’ll rebalance quarterly”. What if markets have fluctuated and after a quarter your portfolio is the same as 3 months ago? They’ll still rebalance when unnecessary. What if after one month there’s significant fluctuation? I may rebalance then if the allocation is completely different from the goals discussed. Summary: don’t have a cookie cutter rebalance strategy and rebalance when it’s optimal for each person based on their income goals.
I enjoyed hearing your story, thank you. You put out a few talking points with regard to what one should ask a potential financial adviser, such as fiduciary responsibility, cost etc. I have never heard a CFP state that a fiduciary is legally obligated to carry, (for the lack of a better term), malpractice insurance. If I’m working with a CFP and they steer me into an investment that is sizable and goes negative $. If it can be proved that the fiduciary breached their obligation, how would one recoup those losses? Is insurance required for all fiduciaries?
Thank you for sharing. Please keep up the excellent work. You said something that resonated at least with me. You said that when you look at your retirement plan you need to feel that this is the right one. I do believe that this is the problem of many people. We received report after report, nice graphs, Monte Carlo projections, scenarios, what-if analyses, etc. but very seldom we "feel" the assurance that we will be OK (we don't sleep well at night). Perhaps, a podcast on the 5 things one must get right on a plan in order to build up that confidence will be interesting, 5 points that will help us to feel that we are in a safe spot during the next 30 or 40 years. I know that 0% risk is an utopia, but perhaps if you get a 100% on 3 of the 5 things that build confidence is a good start, then we can see the light at the end of the tunnel and start feeling that confidence that is essential. Hope this makes sense.
Enjoyed the video! Are the Right Capital enabled "actions" you offer identical to what James offers? I joined James's academy, but I'm more interested in early retirement planning.
Thanks for all of your honesty. You and James give me a lot to look at in my own personnel finance. As my wife and I near retirement makes me question our financial advisor and where his loyalties are. That is one of the reasons why we don’t have all of our money with him. Do you take clients out of states? Again thanks for all of the information you provide, it allows me to question if I am being taken advantage of
Queens Park Rangers supporter here in Maryland. Need to thank Burnley for playing a real stinker against us in Spring 2023 to keep us in the Championship. Local club is Loudoun United. I absolutely and obviously love the soccer and of course your videos. I will only ever own a club in the Football Manager game 😂
Was at Loftus Road last year! Producing Eze must be a proud moment. You’re welcome re: Spring 2023 🤣 Appreciate you sharing that and for the kind words.
@@earlyretirementari waiting for Palace to sell Eze so we can get that sell on fee! 😂 An incredible player. We're going back to Loftus Road in September for the first time since 2009. I can't wait. The atmosphere there is incredible.
Best video yet. I do know of your football club, though I have been a long time Real Madrid supporter. Who do you have for Euro 2024? Hopefully, England can get their first championship. Maybe another Bellingham stoppage time winner. 😜
I appreciate that. Sounds like a good year for you, that’s for sure! Retirement and Real Madrid go hand in hand…hoping England can bring it home but I’m predicting España.
Hi Ari. Would you be open to connecting with me to discuss your summer internship? My son is starting college next fall at a good Big10 business school (hoping to focus on sports business) and is very interested in interning for a Premier League soccer team in the summer of his sophomore year, and we're trying to chart a path to increase his odds of finding this kind of opportunity. Thank you.

I assume less then 10% of people u talk to actualy become a client.. and u know that going into it with a new person….getting new clients is the purpose of your business…
