    @3:46 All the weight transfers from one cable spoke to another in the bottom position. Basically putting all the holding weight on whatever spoke is between the middle and lower area. That seems like too much weight for the outer ring to hold up.

      @normajean1186 Рік тому +5

      You're right, all the weight of the outer structure is being held up by those lower cables only.

      I'm not sure that's how spoked wheels work. You tension them so they share the load. The distance from each point on the rim to the hub barely varies between loaded and "unloaded" spokes.
      It's a huge accomplishment to keep details on the failure a secret. So many engineers must intimitely know what's wrong.

    • @jerseykevin27
      @jerseykevin27 Рік тому +3

      @@Cloxxki The wheels technically aren't spokes because they're not solid pieces. So the cables going from the middle to the upper position do nothing.. only when they're in the lower position are they holding anything

      @Cloxxki Рік тому

      @@jerseykevin27 Do you mean the rim doesn't have the strength to support its own weight and hold schape witout the spokes? Then how does the wheel go so high when it's only supported by wires, not beams as spokes?

    Such a shame, I had planned a vacation on Bluewater Island in 2020 and went in 2022, unfortunately I couldn't go on the Ferris wheel later because of Corona and the supposed technical problems, which was what I wanted. I really wish that Dubai could get the Ferris wheel running again. 😃

    My parents was on vacation. And I was bragging about the ferris wheel in bluewaters. With all pack up p and went there. We end up just to eat at McDonald's. Very sad experience. Anyway better luck next time

    Some of the craziest waste of money, there was no reason for it to be built on an artificial island..
    The same goes with many more projects.. They are either built on an island or way far than each other.. City clusters too
    I feel like if every city clusters and projects were built near one center of the city, it would've been much more accessible to all the residents and visitors
    People living in dubai marina can visit ain dubai regularly, but a visit to burj khalifa would be once in a blue moon considering that is almost 20 -25 km away from dubai marina

      You can drive from Dubai Marina to the Burj Khalifa in 20 minutes. You can also get a metro that runs every 4 minutes all day. There is no way it would be a once in a blue moon thing. When I stayed at Jumeirah Beach Hilton in September 2022 for 8 nights I visited Burj Khalifa and the nearby Dubai Mall 3 times. It costs around £1.50 or $2 US.

      @@ob_isaiah I think it is because it is such a disppointment not to be able to go on it after so much build up.

    They should have used roller bearings all because of some dumb engineers new experiment.
    Dubai is a ground for experiments because lots of money to spend unquestioned on dumb companies.

    Built too fast. Now they are not saying why it has been closed. Scary to say the least. It must be bad and chances are people were in danger riding it to begin with. Would never go there anyway. Equality is not a value there.
