Tak pokud vybudují vodní cestu a železniční plus silniční spojení tak to už bude úspěch. Jestli k tomu přidají každých 5 km 250 m vysokou budovu co bude vysoká 500 m i to bude zajímavé. Já bych pochyboval jen o výšce 500 m to už je na takhle dlouhou stavbu moc. Ale pokud řekněme zvládnou 100 m vysokou stavbu po celé délce s úseky cca 200-250 m vysokými budovami tak to bude dobré. Nechme se překvapit.

The problem with neom is that there is no place for lower class people as they are the ones who provide essential services

170 Km traveled in only 20 minutes? that's just over 500 KPH or 300 mph. Well, it comes from a primitive mind with more money that any one person should have.
Chinas high speed rail is faster than that, but if you make any stops at all it completely kills your time.

Cool idea but one thing that I can't stop thinking about is this seems like a huge target for a country's adversaries. I don't think Saudi Arabia would have to worry about that too much but it's just such a huge target for attacks

The only prject that makes sense is the floating city. You should have seafood availability. With a decent desalinization set up you should have water. And if the environmentalists are correct about the sea level rising, they should have no major problems. Just lengthen the anchors and build wake barriers.

As a Saudi if I got really good job with the high salary of course I will move there immediately but the city is not just for Saudi. It's also for everyone.
I dont think their oil pools are big enough to complete any of this. And thus far, have they created an environment that would attract international tourism? A bit volatile I would say.

Even if they complete it in time, something about it doesn't smell good. I would've preferred if they implemented more traditional Arabic aesthetics instead of a post modernist monstrosity. Its just pure simple maths. Walls 500m tall x 200m wide x 1m depth = 100,000 cubic metres.
Length 170km or 170,000m is 170,000 x 100,000= 17,000,000,000sqm or 17bn cubic metres.
At a cost of $1tn dollars $1,000,000,000,000/17,000,000,000= $58 cubic metre.
That's without carbon neutral power stations, a train that will take to from end to end in 20 minutes, an airport or external sanitation and water facilities.
Population density for 9m people 6x greater than the most populously dense city in the world, Manilla causing crowding.

Give it few more months, the scale and design is no longer what has been touted originally.
There are just so many reasons, this project can never be materialiaed from the get go.
1) 500m walls on eack side are not structurally viable, wind load etc
2) most inefficient city
3) Saudi Arabia is not a secular state, henceforth, current institution is not conducive for capitalism
4) it us in a desert afterall
5) costs of construction is grossly underestimated
