Bad luck, they just removed the CCIP for bombs today and replaced it with the CCRP. Still great for grinding by bombing bases in air battles, but good luck using the CCRP for CAS.
ccrp is still useful, and if you can get used to it you can do a lot more damage with the a4e and the walleye x 500lb dumb bomb loadout than the bullpups
CCRP is a gift for those who want to do some high alt cas since most SPAAs cant reach over ~3km, downside: you need the bigger bombs since 250lbs bombs are too inaccurate to do damage on bigger targets and of course moving targets
One big negative thing about this one.... once it gets even a little ding, it looses immediately 50% of it's already abysmal energy retention and gain... furthermore, any asymmetrical damage to the wings, and it pretty much goes into an unrecoverable spin any time you try a harder turning maneuver over the bad wing.
"For some reason the F-84F looks like a fish." Okay so I'm not the only one that thinks that. I much more prefer the other variants of the F-84, those fuel tanks on the straight edge wings looks so good to me
Gonna be honest, I hated this thing. Only flown the Italian one, long enough to spade it. Grew on me as an attacker, but that was when it had an air spawn. Taking this out against fighters is a pain, especially stock. At least it got its full 6000lb bomb load, and a CCIP... sorry, CCRP. Gaijin giveth, and Gaijin taketh away.
To me, this thing was good as an attacker and ONLY as an attacker. Taking it out to bomb bases, and then using my bullets to destroy light pillboxes to bleed enemy tickets. That's the only way i recall ever winning with this plane
I personally enjoy this jet. Maybe it’s because I haven’t really used anything better but as someone climbing through the tiers this jet finally feels like more of a modern jet compared to what I’ve flown before. I’ll grind further into the tree and see how I feel later on tho.
F-84s are in general very lacklustre to me, specially now that this one is missing CCIP. The early variants have BR on their side, this one I'll leave to the enthusiasts.
I have a question are the free fall characteristics of its napalm bombs are wrong? I did a high altitude CCRP drop on a base with them and so had be almost on top of the base and the bombs immediately lost forward velocity and fell straight down flopping like a fish as the they went down. I would think a bomb weighing close to the same as a 500lb would fall differently
I have a small bias to this plane. My state Air guard had one and its sitting at a museum at Ankeny airport just waiting to be restored. I plan on trying too later in life.

Hey Tim, just wanted to let you know some of your thumbnails are a bit of a hard read on mobile. I’d recommend to do screenshots that might show the silhouette of the aircraft better? I’d also recommended a shot that’s maybe a bit more close up- not saying to copy spookston but his more close up thumbnails are definitely easier to read visually. Maybe a good middle ground? Edit: your F7F thumbnail and SU-22 thumbnail are both great

Thats what the CCIP ballistics computer does, though I think they removed it from this plane sometime after I made the review. If you need more info about it, check for the guide to air to ground weapons on my channel, I go into a lot more detail.
If anyone has any tips for using the F104A and how to deal with missiles in early missile thunder that would be spectacular. I am new to topish tier and I just got the F104A… do I just suffer?
Just roll to one side and if the missiles follows you roll to the other side. You need to get out of the missiles seeker FOV or overload its msximum G tolerance. If you later get flares on other planes, always shut afterburner down and fly in a way that puts the flares directly in front of the missiles seeker while you getting away from that area. The missile wants a nice hot target and if you just drop flares in a straight line while flying it often wont change targets. But even if you no all this and can evade every missile in the game when you are fast enough without flares, you will get killed because players launch them at you when you aren't aware of enemies. That is just how it is. Good luck and don't be bothered, a kill ratio of 0,25 to 1 is very common for the first jet. The vulcan is great, don't upgrade gun for now and spray with it in head ons when the enemy is about 2,5 km away. Spray 1 second and break of. Repeat - you have a lot of ammo.
f104a and c have been powercrept, which basically means that plane was good when it was added to the game at 9.7. now its 10.0 and the game has changed so you shouldnt take it out anymore. if you have to i would say play it as a support plane and if you get a missile on you, you need to be going around mach 1 and learn how to outroll missiles. even 30g missiles can be dodged if you learn to roll. edit: when evading missiles you need to cut your afterburner or you will have no chance.
@@mtxdp4392 They should just delete or at least fold the two US F-104s. At 0.3 higher you can get 4 9Js instead of 2 9Bs and flares. Insane. If you have F-104 in winnie puhs tree then the F-5A needs that much of a grind compared to F-5E. Or just buy a A-5C 🙃
