Thank you for filling my large bottle order from last month, Nathan. They all made it safe and sound to Winnipeg, after picking them up from across the border. Received the flattened boxes from Luxury Brands today, as well. Think I'll be good for a while, ink-wise. Hopefully you weathered the recent New England storm well. Merry Xmas and Happy New Year. Hope to hear from you again soon.
Another great video! Please upload more, I love your content and you have insights in pens I don't hear anywhere else. The not-so-subtle global commentary sprinkled in is a huge plus as well.
I'll try one more in a day or two on dip pen nibs and how to fit them to the "most hackable fountain pens" (a nickname given by a tinkering calligrapher for the Ahab and Konrad that I like a lot - as "hackable" means higher utility for the user in my interpretation). Inexpensive dip pen nibs can still be obtained with relative ease...there is no need to spend princely sums on "custom fitted to a plastic feed gold plated spring steel dip pen nibs" - that all still rust as spring steel does... Noodler's Pens still all have stainless steel nibs because stainless from even the 1930s lasted when cared for...often just as soundly as gold. Ideally, a pen design takes what was learned since the golden age to make it last while still being affordable...but "hackable" and durable as well - while also still having the easily recognizable classic utilitarian designs of the golden age of fountain pens. (self filling, ebonite feeds, durable nib tips, ..ebonite, classic plastics, etc..)
@@InkNeedLastForeverthis would be an excellent video! I’ve seen several people lately touting how wonderful it is to be able to use vintage Esterbrook nibs in modern pens, but I have no doubt that the Ahab or Konrad can be made to fit a wide assortment of nibs, vintage and modern. Also glad to see more content from you. I still go back and play your old Baystate Blue and Ahab videos at times for the entertainment and relaxation I find from them. Hi Nathan! Glad to see you posting a video. I love your inks and pens. I’ve been building a modest collection of Ahabs, Konrads and Nib Creepers. I like them all. After tuning them, they are beautiful writing instruments and are great for sketching. I hope you will eventually post more long format videos. Will we be seeing the Neponset and Triple Tail in different materials or colors? Will there be some new rollerball or brush pens? Konrad felt tip for highlighting? Just curious what the future might hold.
Artist feeds specifically designed for popular artist dip nibs, non-conventional flex architecture, and a pen made for a metallurgist fanatic - are all in the works....also, some acrylic ahabs and konrads for those people who prefer the smell to that of cotton butyrate resin (which I maintain from long experience with vintage pens is one of the best pen materials for long term + 80 year + color retention, UV light resistance, durability, shock resistance....in fact...no other vintage mandarin yellow survived without a majority of such pens cracking - the old phrase: "Your Mandarin Duofold is cracked, you just don't know it yet...wait and see and it will happen." NONE of the cotton butyrate resin mandarins cracked from 1938-39 onward - and the material survived being driven over. Alas, all my competitors mostly to entirely use acrylic - so that magically smells nice in social media - but cotton butyrate apparently does not....even though it is a better material by most measures. I have come to believe it is akin to cilantro - most people don't mind it as a spice/herb....but some just don't care for it.
@@InkNeedLastForever I’ve never had an issue with the smell. I actually prefer the feel of a cotton butyrate pen. The acrylics have a slick/soapy feel to them. But it might just be me. Hey there Nathan -- welcome back -- and with a great video! I'm so glad to see you're offering these large bottles. I will send Luxury Brands an email with what I would like. However, due to it now being the winter season, I'm concerned about freezing during shipping. Do you think this will be a problem if I place an order through them (my local retailer here in Winnipeg isn't willing to purchase Noodler's ink themselves during the winter, so I'd need to go through LB)?
The people at UPS and Fedex have often found the labels amusing "GLASS - FRAGILE AS HELL - DO NOT FREEZE". The ink is encased in polystyrene and bubble wrap - and none have frozen yet...even when shipped to Alberta in December. However, mailbox deliveries in the Dakotas generally need polar inks in December...especially if the mailbox is out on the prairie and a mile from the residence.
@@InkNeedLastForever Very good, I appreciate the reply. I did have one issue when a bottle of Limited Edition 1984 shipped to here from Vanness leaked about 5 ml and stained the box during winter. Not sure if that was caused by the cold and/or the lid not being secure. Thankfully, the bottle didn't break at least. Will get in touch with LB. I just contacted your company! One of the best! That little geographic stamp of the state of Arkansas at the base of a bottle goes back many decades, as I am sure you know. Let them know a US made ink company needs them....!!
Hello Nathan, I’ve tried to reach out to luxury brands for these bigger 32oz ink bottles. I was told they could order and do them for me, but the next email I was referred to another company. Is there any 32oz and 16oz bottles out there? Any way I could still get hold of these? There’s some colors I love and would absolutely adore to have lifetime supplies of.
Happy to see a video from you again, Nathan! I hope you will start making more again. I don't think I'd ever use this much ink, so it's not for me, but that's great that such large amounts are in demand!
I would love to purchase a galon of X-Feather Blue but I'm sure I could never use all of that before the end of my life time. Now... a 32oz of X-Feather Blue, I am greatly interested in. Where can I order?
I believe through any Noodler's Ink retailer...or by contacting luxury brands usa - or PurePens in the UK... 32 oz will likely be available in a couple weeks, but 16 oz is available right now.
@@InkNeedLastForever I was able to finagle some of the inks I had sought through other means, but my MAIN concern was just you- after all the crapfest, I worried that you would become depressed, or ill, and just wanted to somehow encourage you and offer any help that I could. Now that I see you are alive and well, I feel much better!!! Thank you so much!
I have 3 of the 16 oz-ers. Aircorp blue black, legal lapis, and king Phillip. I wanted the two blue blacks because I love the inks so much I never wanted to run out, ever. Just in case something happens and you had to discontinue those. And the king Philip was just right place, right time.
How can we go about getting the “old” labels on the new bottles? I know you can never print them but what size can we put the old ones on like X Feather Blue with Churchill?
I MISS you, you just disappear for months sometimes and no way to get message to you to be sure you are OK or don't need anything. I stopped dealing with goulet after they treated you like crap. Hope you are OK, stay strong.
If one calls, please speak to the machine....otherwise, silence causes the assumption that it was a telemarketer. Sometimes I talk to customers while capping ink...can't email much or text, but I can sometimes talk. If anyone writes, please include a voice phone number in the note... My apologies for not getting back to everyone over the years. I think I might have at least a couple decades left. Thank you for your thoughts and concern, it is appreciated.
@@InkNeedLastForever I have tried to contact you. I sent a friend request to Instagram. I asked pure pens to send you a message, before I knew they are not decent people (spent hundreds BTW). I got into contact with Luxury Brands and they were great and was asked to give you a message, but highly doubt it. Mr. Goulet - THE PEN SAVER OF THE UNIVERSE - will never see one red cent of my money ever again and that goes for several others as well. I have been very vocal about this whole drama and will most likely be banned every where when I am ready. You are such a kind person and the crap you went through had nothing to do with you and Brian knew better!
Can't speak for the requestor, but I'd handle things by refilling smaller ink bottles from the gallon. Then it's just filling pens from the bottle as per usual. Of course, failing that, an eyedropper and an inkwell would probably work fine.
The most ingenious I have seen was an art studio that had a simple clear tube set through a hole in the cap with a plastic ball valve on the end...when an ink well was empty, the spigot would fill it up precisely using gravity/siphoning.
Should be from your preferred Noodler's retailer. It is a product that nobody has the space to stock and you might have to request specifically (and they are heavy...and if dropped...well, some retailers can deal with a 3 oz bottle falling to the floor...but a gallon?).
10 years ago I bought mine through standard retail channels, it's just not in the item list but anyone who carries Noodler's Ink "should" be able to get these for you.
Depends upon the country - PurePens in the UK, Luxury Brands in the USA, & it is possible to ship to Taiwan and Korea, etc... It would be shipped direct to you from Noodler's Ink after your order is received by the distributor...as these are very heavy and large (just two take up the space in a box that would normally fit 144 bottles!). Any reduction in shipping is vital for any bottle this heavy!
Serious question. What’s the feasibility of acquiring Baystate Blue and/or Black in 30 or 55 gallon drums? Wha are the most indelible blue/black inks you carry? Any sort of bulk discount? Approximate cost? Can it be sent via air or only by land via truck. What kind of DOT hazard classification would Baystate Blue have? Do you have SDS sheets for Noodler’s Inks?
I could never find a 1 gallon Glass jug. They sent me the ink in a plastic container even though I asked for glass. Although plastic has it’s advantages now that I think about it. 😢
Only one customer received plastic gallons in the past year, and I was told it was requested to avoid breakage - and if I remember correctly...without any label (seemed odd at the time). Most people want a giant glass gallon with the huge label to display in the corner of their office or art studio. My apologies for the apparent bad data.
There is more space to spare in the 1 oz, 16 oz, 32 oz, half gallon (4 lbs), and gallon (8 lbs)...but the 4.5 and 3 oz don't have any spare space and get filled as much as they can take.
Hi Nathan, I'm one of the owners of the Pen with No Name, I was gifted it from a friend. Is it safe for me to remove the inner white sleeve from the section? It seems some ink has gotten in there somehow. P.S. I realize this question isn't related to the video, _however_ I loved seeing images of the gallon jugs in the past and I'm glad you're doing them again.
Hi there Nathan, glad to hear from you and the gallons jugs are really nice. Anyway, really satisfied and would like to wish you well... 😀
In elementary school in the late 90s, all my classmates always shared bottled ink. Only..... in regular size..... Those inks definitely have wow factors! AMAZING! Thanks!
I was also in elementary in the 90s, but I don't recall anyone having fountain pens or bottled ink, at all! I think the common writing instrument was the classic yellow No. 2 pencil. Must be a regional thing.

You should try and get the inks noodlers did showing jews with devil horns. The owner thought there was more antisemites who would be ink buyers. They had a helicopter on the back in reference to how south american dictators would throw students out of helo's to murder them. Fun stuff! Great inks for drawing swastikas.
Those bottles hold enough Noodler's ink that i could paint my bedroom.haha I do like the different size bottles, very cool.
I miss Apache sunset.

Finally a real use for the Conid Giraffe!
Looks like the 128-8 gallon jugs we make at Arkansas Glass.
I just contacted your company! One of the best! That little geographic stamp of the state of Arkansas at the base of a bottle goes back many decades, as I am sure you know. Let them know a US made ink company needs them....!!
This was a great video! Those bottles are fantastic! And this reminds me; I'm out of Heart of Darkness. Best black ink I have ever used.
A half gallon of Zhivago with a pump installed would keep me in good shape for at least 9 months. That ink is the best ink ever made by human hands.
When you want to drench your in-laws indelibly.
@@InkNeedLastForever Luxury Brands has never, ever replied to any of my queries...
@@Julian-bq9qv Yikes! OK, I'll ask for your phone number - if you can somehow get it to me privately/private youtube message?
I love 💕 this ink I want to get the complete archival colors
Wow that's crazy you'd never run our of ink with those.
I… haven’t even used up my HoD from college. 😅. It’s been over a decade. I just can’t commit to a color.
I think those jugs should be filled up to the very top. It's disappointing to see some space between the cap and the ink level. 😁😁😂😂😜😜Jk!
I think that would be 9 lbs instead of 8 lbs by weight? If somebody wants that...it can be done... ;-)
How can we go about getting the “old” labels on the new bottles? I know you can never print them but what size can we put the old ones on like X Feather Blue with Churchill?
if he ever replies to you please please please let me know. I would be so grateful!
I'm a huge fan of your General of the Armies
Yep, Gooly and that one subreddit can both pound sand. Stay strong Nathan!
@@poppyglow Commonwealth of Massachusetts, corporations division...you'll find my number there. Would be a pleasure to hear from you.
@@InkNeedLastForever Thank you and it would be an honor to talk to you.
Could we get a video on how that special requester refills pens with a gallon?
Can't speak for the requestor, but I'd handle things by refilling smaller ink bottles from the gallon. Then it's just filling pens from the bottle as per usual. Of course, failing that, an eyedropper and an inkwell would probably work fine.
The most ingenious I have seen was an art studio that had a simple clear tube set through a hole in the cap with a plastic ball valve on the end...when an ink well was empty, the spigot would fill it up precisely using gravity/siphoning.
Where can the larger bottles be bought? I for sure want some.
Should be from your preferred Noodler's retailer. It is a product that nobody has the space to stock and you might have to request specifically (and they are heavy...and if dropped...well, some retailers can deal with a 3 oz bottle falling to the floor...but a gallon?).
How would one go about ordering a gallon - contact Luxury?
10 years ago I bought mine through standard retail channels, it's just not in the item list but anyone who carries Noodler's Ink "should" be able to get these for you.
Depends upon the country - PurePens in the UK, Luxury Brands in the USA, & it is possible to ship to Taiwan and Korea, etc... It would be shipped direct to you from Noodler's Ink after your order is received by the distributor...as these are very heavy and large (just two take up the space in a box that would normally fit 144 bottles!). Any reduction in shipping is vital for any bottle this heavy!
@@budthecyborg4575 Correct....that is how it usually is still done now.
@@InkNeedLastForever Thanks for the info! I've already emailed Luxury. Is it possible to order any ink or will it be limited to specific ones?
Serious question. What’s the feasibility of acquiring Baystate Blue and/or Black in 30 or 55 gallon drums? Wha are the most indelible blue/black inks you carry? Any sort of bulk discount? Approximate cost? Can it be sent via air or only by land via truck. What kind of DOT hazard classification would Baystate Blue have? Do you have SDS sheets for Noodler’s Inks?
Love it, wish I had use for the bigger bottles!
I know it's ink, and I love your inks, but holy moly. They look like fruit juices, and I just want _one_ little sip.
Only Noodler's bottle I haven't seen filled up to the brim
😆
There is more space to spare in the 1 oz, 16 oz, 32 oz, half gallon (4 lbs), and gallon (8 lbs)...but the 4.5 and 3 oz don't have any spare space and get filled as much as they can take.
Ha!
Where can I get a 16 oz of noodles ink and do more videos I love this channel
Hi Nathan,
I'm one of the owners of the Pen with No Name, I was gifted it from a friend.
I use both X-Feather and Baystate-Blue as my daily drivers and both are fantastic to write with and low maintenance (especially Baystate-Blue!).
Would like to find something like St. Pattys and a red that is the same hue as a Pilot V5 that are bulletproof; but maybe that is not possible(?).
OMG this is awesome
This is hilarious and I love that they exist. Sadly I don’t think it will be economical to get one of these in Europe.
I could paint a fence with that! 😮
Very Cool!
Wow. I don't think I could ever use that much ink, Nathan. That's so cool though.
Fox red is a go to!
Nice to hear from you maestro… I hope your okay 😉 💙
Amazing.
Awesomeness!!!!!
Gosh seeing that bastardized name on Apache Sunset makes me sad.
It pisses me off!
Every man has his price.
Looking forward to a Baystate Blue in a 1 gallon jug...
That is actually the ink with the largest number of gallon and half gallon jugs in existence...it even exceeds black and Heart of Darkness.
PADDY NOT PATTY
Missed you at the show last year, sucks that they cancelled this year....
I'm going to need a couple gallon jugs of Baystate Blue if the state senate comes up with garbage similar to what Michael Day vomited up this session...
I gotta know how much that gallon of Dostoevsky is! 😮
'Promosm' 🎊
Do want.
Do you have any of the bottles with the "jews with devil horns" images or the helicopter on the back (signifying the way that south american dictators used to kill student protestors)? Those were pretty neat and really expressed the owners nazi sympathies and antisemitisim.
