Hey Mike , I'm an older man and I always keep this phrase in my mind when dealing with relationships personal or otherwise. " Never set yourself on fire to keep someone else warm" It's simple and straight forward. Know when to walk away.
Hey Mike! I'm a 47 year old black male born and raised in Baltimore, MD. however I haven't lived in the city for over 20yrs. I've been following your content for some time now, and I'm a huge fan/supporter of you and Field Craft Survival. That said, I've always thought that the BLM organization was full of shit. I support the moment to a degree, but not the organization. BLM the organization is always SILENT on black on black crime and murder. If black lives truly matter to them, Go to Baltimore, go to Chicago, go to Los Angeles, go to Atlanta, etc. The organization BLM is full of shit!
Black male here and I have been telling this very thing to my “woke” relatives and as a teacher my students as well. BLM is a scam and “useful idiots “ for the globalist agenda. Mike and FCS have been instrumental in helping me get a true readiness mindset.
@GambleSTARS its quite literally because they truly don't care, they just suckers thousands of people out of money and that's always what it's been about, money.
Emotions/Fear/Fight or Flight. I am so impressed by your understanding of chemical reactions in the brain; the physiological issues. Due to a situation before I was adopted at 4 by an amazing Christian Family, my brain is hardwired for survival. Not just living. Highly sensitive emotionally as well. Not a victim; and with that I have empathy & help vulnerable people at street level. If someone stays Positive if you get stuck & overwhelmed, that person moves into action and is a great asset versus a liability. Thank you so much for your video.
Please don't give up on people. We are unbelievably strong in action and keep at it until a goal is achieved because we fight. I don't take flight. Very nice until someone starts something that is wrong. Then it's on.
I started learning about urban survival on the streets of New Orleans in the 80s and 90s, but got serious about it after Surviving Katrina and the Superdome. Not trying to compare My situation, but It opened My eyes about human nature. I live in San Antonio now, and It was A Friend who served in Iraq and Afghanistan Who helped Me to Get My mind right. Now I feel everyone needs survival training. Thanks Mike, because every time I watch Your vids, I learn at least one or two things.
Appreciate you Mike. I have so much respect for folks like you. With your background you could choose to do anything. It is clear that you focus on areas that try to help people and make them safer. The fact that you invest so much time and energy in medical emergency gear speaks volumes. There are so many things that would be easier to do, and it says a lot that you put so much time and energy into these areas. Keep fighting the good fight. Shalom
Mike, thank you so much for making this video. As someone who actually lives in Atlanta, when I heard about that poor man being murdered by a thief, and the fact that no one came to help him but instead rob him after he was left for dead it made me extremely paranoid and also sad. I live in an area where thankfully crime isn’t bad, but it was certainly a wake up call to remain vigilant and increase my own situational awareness to make sure nothing like that ever happens to my family or myself.
I want to start by saying I am not former military or law enforcement, but I wanted to extend what I think is a tip that could help urban people like me. Every night I walk around my apartment complex practicing situational awareness, but also learning everything about my complex incase of these crazy situations. So, a little tip or food for thought. I also do this at my families property up north in the woods, I just think it is good practice for situational and environmental awareness.
Thanks Mike, again super important content and even if the video is one year old, it is more up to date now. The way I see it, we all need to prepare for the urban situation. I do live in Vienna/Austria and we have on average 4 knife attacks per day. The media of course sweeps it under the rug and so many people dont see the problem at all. Prepare yourself
You’re a good dude. I’ve been living this life for years regarding the statement of “do you.” I don’t compare myself to others, I compare myself to my previous self to determine success and my own improvement. People that constantly compare themselves to others is a toxic mindset. God bless.
Garandthumb recently uploaded a fantastic video illustrating an urban survival loadout/ go bag, as well as expanding on the topic and tactics. Thank you for sharing your knowledge Mike! It is greatly appreciated!
Mike…thank you for doing these podcasts. Thank you for sharing valuable, usable information. As an older female, there are vulnerabilities I experience when I go out to the store or go to/from work. Situational awareness is now something I practice everywhere I go, everyday, and even just here at home. I want to be strong enough to defend myself, my husband, my neighbors, friends, family no matter the circumstance. Can’t wait for the day when I can take some training with your team, which I intend to make happen this year. You’re looking great; I can see the weight loss and muscle improvement in your face, chest, and arms. Keep it up! Love from Minnesota.
Amen. While it's terribly hard, I've had to do so with my entire family, spent more than half my life feeling like a crab in a bucket, as I grabbed the rim and pulled myself up and nearly go over the rim and out of the bucket, it would never fail, someone would grab my leg and pull me back into the bucket. Since then, I live my life, and I'm doing better personally and professionally than ever before. Dont let those claiming to be in your corner hold you down, those who truly love you will help you get where your going. Thanks Mike
Great content Mike 👍 I am always telling my family and friends they need to have more situational awareness even during the most mundane tasks or times just simply to prevent injuries or other surprises if nothing else. I had an incident recently where about 30 people Including my Wife were waiting for takeaways at a food van. Whilst everyone else were on their phones or chatting I was in my FJ watching a bunch of juveniles near all the parked cars as we currently have a very high rate of crime at the moment and they're getting more brazen. So 15 minutes in a couple of them walk off to an unlocked vehicle as soon as I saw the door open I hit my horn for a solid few moments which made everyone look up and then I got out to yell at them as they ran off. I couldn't leave my vehicle as I had my kids inside but what got me was no one moved they just stood there like rabbits in the headlights.
I'm a small guy small hands. I just purchased a Sig P320 full size nitron finish 9mm. This is my first Sig Sauer probably. The best gun I have ever fired.
Great call on not being a conduit for gossip and toxicity. I learned (and am still learning) that lesson later than I should have. Also really appreciate you working to keep the pod listenable for all audiences.
Can’t believe you’ve never been to the Olympia area. It’s a beautiful area and you are going to love it. When I was serving as an infantryman I was stationed at Ft. Lewis with 2nd ID. Have a great time out there brotha and good luck with your race.
Im a mechanic and have a few lock pick sets and lots of other tools for getting into stuff. I've helped a few cops get back into their cars when their other key fell off the QD between the seat and they didn't ask me a thing.
I'm a diesel tech and some lady locked her keys in the car. an officer pulled up as me and 2 other workers were working on getting the handle to snag and the officer said "good luck!" and just dipped.
BLM is against the use of state power and abuse of power on citizens unjustly. Black on black crime is another issue, because criminals are not held to a higher standard like law enforcement who we’ve given the power to enforce laws- not kill innocent children and people.
As always thanks for your expertise Mike! Thanks also for explaining how you don't keep your carry gun chambered because you have small children. I also do this, it sucks because of the time sacrifice but I CANNOT imagine how I would go on if my child got a hold of my carry gun with a round chambered and something terrible happened. Thanks for bringing attention to this, very important!
I’m just finding your channel today listening to it while I’m at work. I have subscribed and sit for notifications. It was nice to find somebody speaking among my mindset. I’ve tried to have conversations with a few people one gentleman who I consider a really good friend retired man from the 101st airborne, but there’s really not much discussion in him for he also was a prosecutor and a judge but he is a really good guy. Just not much for conversations of such seems to be extremely anti-2A
Incredible Content! Can't wait to watch the Rural portion to this series. Watching this for my 2nd time through, soaking up every detail I can. Keep the content coming.
Hey Big Mike, your a hell of dude . The composure to try to save your friends life like that is astounding. Your a true professional and friend. Sorry for your loss.
Thankyou so much for doing these videos you are putting out the best advice on how people can stay prepared in this crazy world and country we are living in. Thankyou Mike.
Excellent video big Mike! Your part on situational awareness was spot on. I tell this to both of my kids every week whether it’s driving or just walking the dog in the evening. Also, I live in Southern California and it is difficult to get out of the area on a holiday weekend so if the SHTF event ever happens Your only choice will be to bug in for a while as the freeways will be at a standstill. I can’t wait to move!
Love your podcast Mike. Very knowledgeable and informative. Preparedness, EDC and everything included has been on my mind alot lately. Thank you for putting this out brother. God Bless.
I been to Washington State it is a beautiful place I lived in Mukilteo Washington you will enjoy it there and I just kicked a lot of people out of my life recently I been listening to you about rotating food I love it and be safe going to Washington I be saying a prayer for you safe return home❤
Long time Locksmith/safe & vault tech here from Michigan. Here you do not NEED a license or certification to be a locksmith. It is situation depended on the state you live in. There for you can possess lock picks but it comes down to “intent” with the items. If you looking for brands to buy, look at Sparrow or HPC. Keep up the content!

I'm guessing I was 9 years old growing up in Brooklyn when a guy going to work in the city walks out of his home. Shot and Robbed for $5.00. At his front door. That was 50 some years ago, story always been a lesson for watching and knowing your neighborhood.

A Raven Concealment Vanguard trigger guard retained to the inside of the bag is a solid budget friendly option for keeping pistols in bags too.

Hey Mike thanks for using the picture of Joel and Elie from The first "The Last of Us" on this episode picture....👍
Mike my sister lives in the Midway and Heber area. She was the owner of Süss cookies till she sold it. It’s gorgeous up there.
Love your content, BIG Mike G!

Good stuff. Thank you for the time and effort.
Thanks for talking about not keeping one in the chamber because of your kids. It's the same reason I don't keep one in the chamber.
Could I suggest adding a window break/ seatbelt cutter added to the Medkit and or EDC, I apologize if you mentioned it and i missed it.

Am I the only one whose gonna appreciate the Last Of Us thumbnail??
Mike your intros always sound like some dope Muzak is about to break it down and then you do the smooth jazz voice it gets me every time! 😂 ❤️
Great information.
