Always a great discussion. As a farmer, I want to put a plug in for getting to know the local small farms in your area. That's such an important resource to network, and to learn. Ask if they have volunteer days, what varieties grow well in your area...etc. They're always happy to connect with people who want to get involved. Farming is a community lifestyle, and it will definitely teach you patience and humility.
As someone who served only 8 years in the military. I don’t have a big leg to stand on. But, I will say, I wouldn’t ask anyone to go serve for this country right now. Not under this BS administration. We need all the real warriors and patriots at home for what may come. Even if nothing does, no way would I ever tell someone to go serve right now.
Thank you for standing up for life and gender roles. They latter are reality, not hate. And they're important. Everyone has different gifts. Also, we need more duck and goat videos.
As a homesteader of over 30 years, I’m excited to see you on this journey. You’re in for a wild ride Mike. Also, thank you for having the courage to speak the truth regarding abortion and gender. So refreshing. Your take 100% aligns with mine. Thanks for all you do for the community. One of my greatest honors was to be on your AC podcast. So excited to hear you’re a dad. Enjoy every minute of it - it will go by so quick. Blessings - Patriot Gal
Having read Scars and Stripes, that part of the book Mike was in stuck with me. Hearing Mike read it aloud I could almost recite it word for word with him. It's nice to hear Mike's side of that story to add to it.
My 4 year old daughter also hates dolls and enjoys “fixing stuff” with me and her grandpa. I found a nice pink and brightly coloured tool set, so she can feel that she can help us out. She likes to do some guy stuff but she also likes to do make up with her mom, because she knows and likes being a girl.
I'm loving this homestead journey you are on. We are a city family due to work, but the in-laws are farmers and ranchers so my kids fortunately have the ability to learn farming, ranching, butchering, gardening, hunting, etc. Once the kids are out of school and "on their own" I will be on a similar journey that you are doing now. Can't wait to learn from you.
I just recently found your podcast and I really appreciate listening to your views on life and on survival. Thanks for being willing to speak up and be a light in this crazy world.
Excellent podcast. It's refreshing listening to someone who isn't afraid to speak truth and isn't afraid to challenge the narrative that we are being spoon fed as a society. Particularly the kids who are manipulated so badly in the public school indoctrination system. Keep doing your thing.
Glad to get your take on family and kids. Get a harvest right freeze dryer and preserve that garden food for 25 years ! I have 2 of them. Stack your food to the rafters !!!!
I know this videos a few months old, just want to say thank you mike. Really appreciate the knowledge that you transfer to us. I look forward to seeing the progression of your homestead. Which has inspired me to be more self-sufficient.
Can’t put into words the inspiration Mike brings to the table, all I can say is thank you for giving me the right mindset to move forward with precision. God bless his creation
I agree 100%. Thanks for the inspired words. As an ICU nurse working with pretty much only Covid patients over the past few years, I’ve just about given up on people, too. Gotta keep your mindset strong and hold your values close.
A very good video, Mike, covering several topics. Welcome to the homestead lifestyle. As you have experienced in other areas of your life, there will be successes and failures in raising livestock. Blessings to you and your children.
Mike, just stop naming the podcast man Lol after the 2nd and 3rd podcast it’s obvious your just gonna ramble haha 😂 which is fine!! I enjoy it 👍🏼 Mike I’d love to see the interviews with Tim clarifying those things? I’ve looked Lol if they’re out there I can’t find em 🤷♂️ I think highly of Tim Kennedy and it broke my heart hearing him say certain things. Any help in the right direction would be appreciated Mike 👍🏼 thanks man!!
Please keep us posted on the homestead. I am learning and this year got chickens (Brahma chickens). I am loving it and the grandkids are having a blast helping care for the chickens and collect the eggs. It teaches them as well as myself. I am trying to talk the hubs into beekeeping and I am currently reading about it ( mostly Pinterest) but would love to hear how it goes for you. Goats will be next if this goes fine.
Good stuff. We've had a small garden in pots before, but this year I went full bore. Build raised garden beds. Had to fence it all in to protect it from all the deer in our area, but that is ok, they are tasty too.
14:30 Man + Woman both equally “responsible” for creation of the child, but “right to life” belongs to the child itself. No one owns the right to another’s life.
Wife and I just began City-farming chickens, they’re only 5 weeks so still indoors. Finishing up their coop outdoors so they can move out soon and I can get my garage back. Can’t wait to get Clint’s new book!
Thanks boss, I appreciate all of your content, hopefully you and Tom SouthWest and Stephanie will have some good times this weekend at the show. I enjoyed last weekend, we need to do that again, Michael Lott Southeast
Hey Mike love the show big fan, I grew up on a farm and like you said does it suck to kill an animal that you raised and cared for yes it does but like you said I give that animal a way better life than any commercial farm/ranch would. alot of guys I work with are big sport hunters (because they think it makes them "men") and they try to get me to go hunting with them all the time and I try to explain to them that unless I need to take that life to sustain my own life I'm not going to do it. Now there are cases like predator control and things of that nature where it is necessary. I'm big on self reliance and buying things local we also trade with other local farms like I don't have chickens so help out one of neighbors in exchange for eggs and things like that, can't wait to see your bee keeping, my wife and I want to start so I would love any pointers. Keep up the great work, we need more men like you in the world
You're a legend man, always on point. Great podcast, such a humble dude! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and opinions, helps me more than you know man !
Hi Mike, been listening to you for a while now. I & many women I know have been told "NO" on having a tubal ligation based on the idea that we might want children later. I had to fight my Doctor at 29yrs old because he thought I was wrong & that I might want more children or just take birth control (with all the side effects.) Which that was laugh for me, as it caused blood clots earlier in my life. My question for you is... What are your thoughts about the fact that most Doctors will not allow women to get their tubes tide before they are 32 or have 2 children? I bring this up as most men don't know that women have to deal with this.
Thanks for the inspiration man and great content. I just bought one of your signature series hat from Eagles and angels. Proud to say I have your autograph ! ..Former army 12C here.
It is so important for children to understand where their food comes from. I was raised that way. Whenever my dad went hunting he would bring home an animal I would pet its head and thank the animal for giving his life for me. Twisted maybe but I understood that was where food came from.
Thanks Mike. I've had Vivint for years, I do not share your joys with the company. I too have cameras, IR/Thermal sensors around the house, they work and trigger, but when I open the app, takes forever to get the images. Thats actually the first positive thing I've heard anyone say about Tim Kenedy in a long time. Pissed me off having people compare him to Dakota Meyer. And don't even pull my cord on all this trash going on with gender identity issues and radicalized media outlets. I've given up watching TV. It just ticks me off.
Echoing your statement, its unbelievable that we have to have some of these conversations. We're living in bizarro-land. I think if people would put their electronics down and have productive and civil dialogue with real people, a lot of this wouldn't be happening. I always appreciate you using your platform to disseminate some common sense.
Mike, Thank you for such a common sense discussion on these topics. I like to stay informed about what is going on in the world but I get very frustrated when watching the national news. The agenda is so obvious I turn it off. What sources do you use for news? Thanks again for the great podcasts!
Mike, thanks so much for all the great content. I noticed the picture of the Endurance behind you. If you’re a fan of Shackleton, Alfred Lansings “Endurance” is a very solid book and one I have gifted people who are battling hard times (sickness, personal injury, etc.). Keep up the great work and thank you again!!
Thanks for the constant encouragement to keep us moving toward self dependence and personal responsibility. As an aside, if you’re looking for a cheap boat ride in SE Alaska I know a guy who would “host” you…. Me!
Mike - check out Vline security boxes. They have cypher-type manual push button locks. Very good, secure, and fast access that will not fail due to power (is mechanical). Check out their in-wall AR-15 safe.
Mike, I had to stop the podcast say this. I think it's awesome that you and your ex get along good enough that you can co-parent together. I wish my ex-wife felt the same way, and a lot of stuff would have went even better for our kids. And on another note, I think it's awesome that you spoke about being a man of god. I've had several friends who served in the military in combat rules, a few of them actually being in special operations. All of them were raised in the church, and now they have all turned away from it. They say they have seen too much stuff to believe in a higher power that would let stuff like that go on. Personally I think it's kind of sad, I would think seeing some stuff like that would bring you closer in your faith. So I just wanted to throw that out there thanks mike!
Mike I appreciate your honesty in dealing with a difficult subject. Thanks for your bravery. I mostly agree with your analysis with one exception that may be food for thought. When we arbitrarily try decide when it is okay to end a child’s life in difficult situations (like rape) people often try to use an estimate of viability of the fetus (Latin for child) to discern a limit for timing as to when it would be permissible for abortion. Viability (when the baby can potentially survive outside of mom) is generally in week 23 or 24 which is in the “second trimester”. I find this distinction inadequate from the perspective that even babies born full term can not sustain life on their own without lots of help from caregivers. Therefore the distinction used as a cut off for abortion doesn’t seem to make any logical sense. At least from my humble perspective. What do you think? God bless you! Jason
Hard to navigate especially with kids these days…. Religion or not right is right and wrong is wrong. Thank you for adding non emotionally driven, level headed prospective in these times.
Mike, real talk - I'd love to talk with you about different structural design considerations for homesteads. Being able to produce veggies, fruits, and meat only goes so far if your house is going to rot out in 10-20 years.
how do you have time for all of these responsibilities? running the company, homesteading, kids, etc. I work full time, exercise, take care of garden, and only have about 2 hours a day left. can you go over your schedule?
Hey Mike, hope all is well. I know this is an old episode but in reference to the way you watch the news what’s your thoughts on the S2 Underground channel? Been listening to him for a while because quite honestly I’m too lazy to dig through all the different news stations and try to piece together possibly truths not their narratives.
I saw you guys are doing classes in Pennsylvania and some are basically in my back yard in NEPA I can't make it to any of the 2022 ones really hope you come back in 2023 and it would be awesome if you guys did a reasonable citizen at the newfoundland location
Just throwing it out there as an ADT rep, our Burglar Alarm systems communicate through LTE so no power and no internet and you're still good to go. :-)
Thanks for being a strong moderate voice. I have also become much more aligned with the Right to Life point of view, AND I still think, considering the mess of the foster 'care' system and other failures of society, making abortion illegal is a stop-gap. The more important issue is that moral behavior is losing the 'culture war' and we meed to figure out how to turn that tide.
Always a great discussion. As a farmer, I want to put a plug in for getting to know the local small farms in your area. That's such an important resource to network, and to learn. 👍 Stand up or stand down; simple but profoundly difficult for most to live by.
I really enjoyed this podcast. You covered some very controversial issues and did it like the pro you are.

Very valid point as well. Ultimately no one has the right to someone else’s life. Each own’s their own life, and naturally wants to live.
Super stoked to read Tim's book, that excerpt was great. When are you writing a book bro?

Hell yeah! Well spoken as always
