To do that, he studied Israeli documentation which had become declassified. It is clear, Jewish irregular forces did commit atrocities, and in the Battle of the Roads, which constituted the essence if the war of 1948-1949, Palestinian villagers contiguous to the country's highways were forced to leave. Atrocities were commited byArab irregulars, and the Arab Legion of Trans Jordan on Jewish populations as well. It was war, this conflict is not notable for such things.
I guess I may attract someone's attempt at refutation, contending Israel is a colonial settler state. That's a nice formulation. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict may be summarised in one sentence: For the Israelis, 1948 still needs to be completed, and for the Palestinians, 1948 still needs to be reversed. What's your point? Palestine is a Roman name for the land of the Jews. There was never a Palestinian arab identity. Arabic doesn't have the PA sound... This "entity" was created by the Egyptians in 1964 in Cairo.
