- The Trinity River Restoration Program is a cooperative partnership that works to restore form and function to the Trinity River to promote the recovery of natural-origin anadromous salmon and steelhead. For more information, check out www.trrp.net.
thank you for restoring the river!!
This biggest river restoration project is awesome. Hope more similar projects can take place and more people can pay more attention to and pay back to the nature.
Dams and healthy salmon populations are not compatible. Getting rid of the dams does not guarantee recovered salmon populations, but leaving the dams will guarantee that they will never rebound to historical levels. Sooner or later, on all rivers, you have to choose: dams or salmon.
Obviously the Trinity and Lewiston dams will never be removed. The 80 percent of Trinity river water is highly depended upon by millions of Californians via the central valley project. However, there is no more hydraulic gold mining going on which severely impacted the river years ago. It's good to see the upgrading and improved spawning beds and side channels. Will it ever restore the historic populations? Unlikely, but any increase in the fish populations is a good thing.
Restore, adapt, and improve, hopefully this snowballs to the rest of the nation, and eventually the world!
what a sight to see water flowing over the spillway of lewiston dam. I could only wish to see this happen again in 2022 the lake is a big farm pond now.
Yes fish before people

Just demolish the dams, and all this fish-assistance rigmarole will be unnecessary.
Best restoration option? Remove the god damned dams! Hello?
Yep and stop developing human populations in deserts? Hello
San Joaquin River needs help and also the Tuolumne River in California both are in nasty shape...
Trinity river fishing is unbelievably poor.
I'm not going to get into a big discussion, but I've fished so many rivers from Washington, Oregon and California. The Trinity is messed up bad.
This is like an illusion beyond comprehension.....so sad.
The silly music adds only noise pollution to this video.
The only way to restore the river is to remove the dam !
