Thank you for this session! Yes I did enjoy this "Imagine" very much! Keep in touch by showing all beginners your easy method of learning...you teach in a "manner of patience" that's appreciated by numerous beginners indeed! Thank you!
I’m absolutely thrilled by this! I knew the song should be quite easy to learn as it’s just alternative triads, but you break it down really nice and make it visual with your way of doing videos. Thanks a lot!
Thank you very much for the wonderful tutorial. Not only you helped me nail down the song Imagine, but also you helped understand the game of the triads, the 7th, and the variations. All I want is to get to the level of improvisation. But I am aware it is a result of rigorous and assiduous practice. Thank you again for the content you provide.
Thanks for bringing one of my favorite songs within reach of my abilities. When I master this song and play it in public as a new addition to my portfolio I will be a very happy man. Along with McCarthy's Yesterday I will have mastered the 2 best Beatles songs.
Wow, it's been 20 years for me on not listening to songs like this, but when I decided to play this song, it made me cry, because of the memories of listening to those songs since when I was 17 years old, now I listen to songs like this, Who loves this song 👇
Honestly only just started but by far this is the best channel for clear instructions, others are very good but I find myself back to you each time, thank you
One of the few who actually slow the lesson down . Thank you Jordan!!! I Have followed Lisa for some time, but you are also a force to your trade!!!!!!!
Great video. It really made this song seem doable - since I had the sheet music at home - and tried to play it myself before and got frustrated - this video really made the song seem "not as difficult as I thought"
Excellent lesson! I love how you show the music notation *and* the keys that are being played (fingering) on the piano. You explain it slowly and so well that even an old man like myself who has only been fooling with piano for three years can understand it. Absolutely, hands down, the best piano lesson I have seen on "Imagine" on UA-cam. THANK-YOU! Do you have a lesson on "Ruby Tuesday" by the Rolling Stones?
This is a great tutorial and I’m going to give it a go. However, anyone else notice that in the bridge/pre chorus he was playing F when the music said E? I’ll try both
Agreed that the sheet music is not an exact match to the played notes. I was stuck there too. Nevertheless, pianote is still a great source for tutorials!
Wow, thank you so much, the piano is such a great instrument. This will be my first song for it. It's good that I know it from the guitar. Liked & Subscribed.
Thank you for this easy to follow tuition ihaving learned the notes/chord positions this is to be my first song practiced when my digital piano arrives soon.
1:02 Just a correction - in the original recording, in the main (opening) pattern John Lennon plays a pinky D when playing the C (inversion) triad that follows the A-Bb-B runup. That wasn't included in this video. So the first chord played in the 3rd measure of the right hand would be a 3 note triad consisting of E-G-D. It's a simple addition and makes the song if you add it. John Lennon plays the D each cycle.
Hey thanks so much for all you do for us. Do you think you could give a beginner lesson on how to add blues tones to our playing.... something like what you did in your Hey Jude lesson? Keep 'em coming!
If you listen closely to the original recording by Lennon there is a D (played with the right hand 5th finger/pinky) at the beginning of each bar in the verse added as a top note above the G. If it is played without the D nobody notices anyway so it could be left without.
Many thanks for the excellent tuition! I see you are using different fingers each time you play the chromatic climb in the 2nd and 4th bars etc? Please can you tell me which fingers are best in order to quickly return to the C triad?
Guys this is close, but not exactly how it is played on the recording. You are missing the D in the C2 chord played after the chromatic riff on beat 1 only. Also he doesn't rock his right hand to his thumb at all. Those C's are played in the LH with an alternating Octave LH pattern.
You are probably right but I think Jordan is going for playability and ease rather than accuracy to the recording. The audience is probably more for beginners and new players so he tailored the lesson for that. But I'm sure he doesn't mind either way as long as you play the song!
Thank you for an outstanding tutorial of this wonderful song! I have never played an instrument before and am learning to play keyboard. The slow pace of the song, combined with relatively simple patterns, is enabling this rookie to play something very satisfying in a very short period of time. I agree with Ricardo that having the keyboard displayed above makes it much simpler to follow along.
Great lesson. This is what I have been looking for a lesson that I sing to and doesn't have the other lead notes. I hope your other lessons for other songs are like this too so I can sing to them. Many lesson on the net for this song put in the notes for every note and thats not what I want so glad you have this type of lesson.
Thanks a lot for this, it's an amazing tutorial. Just one thing confuses me: at 5:14 we go then back up to F, but the notes displayed show, that we would go back to E. So is there a mistake in the notes or has it something to do with that Am/E and F/C that is displayed above the notes? Obviously I still have no clue, what those mean :D Cheers and thanks a lot again!
Great tutorial. I downloaded the sheet music from the website. I might be wrong but the pre-chorus doesn't match up to the sheet music. Am I reading that wrong?
I have the same problem with chorus and couple other parts of the song and i think its a mistake caused by format of the paper or smh like that, but if you figure it out, it would be great if you let me know 😁
Excellente! But the video you said on how you played the whole song, or the link went to a page that the video was unavailable...anyway thanks for your tutorial.
There are a few times where the sheet music doesn't match what is played. At 5:32, on the third beat of the second measure of the pre-chorus, the music says to rock between A & C then E for two beats. Instead, the teacher plays an F instead of an E. My ear says the teacher has it correct.

I'm trying to play Imagine by John Lennon step by step key by key
Thank you for this session! Yes I did enjoy this "Imagine" very much! Keep in touch by showing all beginners your easy method of learning...you teach in a "manner of patience" that's appreciated by numerous beginners indeed! Thank you!
I’m pretty new and this is a game changer
A band I was in back in high school tried to do this. Terribly. Now, over 20 years later, I'm gonna make it up to the spirit of John Lennon.
I’m absolutely thrilled by this! I knew the song should be quite easy to learn as it’s just alternative triads, but you break it down really nice and make it visual with your way of doing videos. Thanks a lot!
Excellent! As a guitar guy, I would say this is the best piano tutorial I've ever seen. Thank you!
As a guitarist/musician I'd agree whole heartedly!!!!
yah
I whole heartedly Agree!!!! Thank you Jason!!!🙏🙏🙏
Finally a more simplified version of imagine. Thanks so much for this piano tutorial

Perfect beginner song!
You've done an excellent job here, very clearly explained & super easy to follow. Thanks a lot.

John Joubert Imagine was a Lennon solo piece. I know what you mean tho. ✌️
Great Teacher You are ...
This is awesome. I’m determined to finally learn a piano song all the way through thank u so much
I'm a total newbie, so I appreciate the detailed and slow approach. It's going to take a lot of work, but in a few weeks, I might have it
YOU ARE THE BEST! I FINALLY LEARNED A WHOLE SONG, I'M SOOOO ECXITED! ☺︎
now I'm trying to sing and play at the same time
this was the first whole song i learned too because it is in C major

Wow, it's been 20 years for me on not listening to songs like this, but when I decided to play this song, it made me cry, because of the memories of listening to those songs since when I was 17 years old, now I listen to songs like this,

This is the best tutorial I’ve ever seen! As a non piano player I could play the song very well! Thank you!
So now you are kind of a player yeah?
@@Jeremyparker well, depending on who’s listening hahaha
absolutely the best tutorial of this song...here in 2019! thoroughly enjoying your style of teaching, clear and patient. Thankyou !!
Thank you for this simple explanation of this awesome song
wow¡¡¡¡¡ Amazing talent!
Thanks so much. There's so many scores on the internets without the full chords and they really don't do the song justice.
This is a great tutorial and I’m going to give it a go. However, anyone else notice that in the bridge/pre chorus he was playing F when the music said E? I’ll try both
I just noticed this. The sheet music provided doesn’t match the video
@@LadyCameoASMR i was stuck at that part for a little bit, but i think F should be the correct one there
Agreed that the sheet music is not an exact match to the played notes. I was stuck there too. Nevertheless, pianote is still a great source for tutorials!
its great that you include jOHN in this instruction. thanks
Thank you for the showing of the song Imagine, it motivates me to start playing... lovely song. Thanks
Perfect explanation. Thank you
Great tutorial. Would be nice if the Sheet music was update to correct the errors in the Pre-Chorus. Thanks
John Lennon would ❤️ you for this.. TIMELESS song! 🎶👍🇳🇿
Wow, thank you so much, the piano is such a great instrument. This will be my first song for it. It's good that I know it from the guitar. Liked & Subscribed.

YAY I CAN PLAY IMAGINE 🥺🤩😍💗
Thanx for this video. Greetings from Tuscany, Italy
Thanks for watching! I hope you and your family are safe :)

After you learn the song play it your way , not someone else's, improvise. Just saying
I agree with you
Misses theD

Great tutorial thank you. Do you use the pedals? Would like to see instruction for that. Thanks
Just put your foot on it 👍
In the pre chorus in the second part of the second bar you go back to F chord while playing, but the notation shows a triad of E A C, not F A C
Exactly! Hard to tell what's right. Does anyone have an idea?
I'm wondering the same thing says E A C not F A C....I play this a totally different way and this is confusing the crap out of me
Exactly!! F sounds better than E here in my opinion. It's closer to Imagination, I mean.
thank you so much~!

Excelente tutorial. Muchas gracias. Tu nueva seguidora y un saludo a todos los poetas que aman el piano.
As a complete beginner, thank you so much.
Very good teaching .Thank you.
I like the way you explained it. Could you explain "ballade pour adelina" the same way? please
I loved this one. Could you do a tutorial on Moonglow? Thanks in advance
