That's a great decision. My son is over 2 and we have never posted a photo online of him. I don't agree with it. They can't tell you if they want to be exploited or not. @mdmcgee. Lovely comment as you are one of the 20% in America who has a family that isn't dysfunctional. A true fact: 80% of American families are dysfunctional. Want proof? Just read the comments on channels like this one! Sad but true.
@kaiju_k5042 little ones are so pure and genuine and NEW. I found that I needed to grow and change in the early years more than I needed to try to train or force my littles to fit into some sort of prescribed mold that would somehow magically make it all "easier." It simply is really hard for a while. You lose a lot of ease and comfort. But it does all come back with time and all the tremendous joys Paola talks about looking forward to makes it absolutely worth it. Its good to remember kids eventually burp on their own, go potty on their own, feed themselves, sleep through the night, etc. when you're exhausted and overwhelmed with these things in the moment. It's temporary. I've found some of the hardest things in life are absolutely the most worthwhile. ❤️
"you did the best you could at the time" There is tremendous healing to ourselves when we 'absorb' this truth, the one time it is beneficial, even if we have to hear it from another person. Those words healed me of unbearable guilt that I could not have lived with many years ago.
I completely respect your reasoning to keep your new baby off of the internet. I don't even share pictures of my child on social media anymore. You're absolutely correct, it can be damaging to have them on the internet for the world to see. We are all flies on the wall of your beautiful story. I will be happy with what you choose to share. Much love from the Oregon coast. ❤ ❤❤❤
I think you are so wise to keep your baby private. I started watching vlogs many years ago when daily vlogging first started. Three families featured their children. I watched those kids turn from normal children to performers for the camera. They became self conscious and were always thinking about how they should act. It really is not a healthy situation. I applaud you!
I believe "observe, don't absorb" will become my new mantra. Such wisdom from such a young person! I feel blessed to see these videos from an old soul. Each video presents something new for me to contemplate. Love the "icing on top" that your kitty, bunny, and puppy provide! 💜💜💜
That has become a mantra of sorts for me as well. I wasn't surprised to hear Paola use that expression in the same breath as she praised the effect of meditation on her life. One of the most common forms of meditation encourages us to be aware of the thoughts that intrude on our consciousness when we're trying to focus our awareness on something else. We can learn so much by examining the sort of thoughts that our minds pester us with, without judging ourselves over having produced those thoughts. That sort of observation is invaluable for understanding how our minds work, subconsciously, and how often our repetitive thoughts represent emotions that are not "honest": they too often represent feelings and judgements that are not based solidly in reality. Observing those thoughts teaches us that we should not absorb them. Many of our thoughts simply don't serve us well, and we are happier in the end if we recognize this unhelpful tendency of our our minds. I too appreciate Paola's wisdom. I wish that someone had taught me these lessons when I was her age.
One of the greatest treasures of raising my sons, and homeschooling them, was recapturing the wonder of life. It is so easy to lose that wonder, as adults. The way that the children repeatedly marvel at the new, and especially beautiful, things that they encounter, is truly infectious!
Mavi! What a ham 🥰 Ive spent the last 3 yrs of my life rewiring my brain. Doing yoga, meditating and learning as I age (im about 20ish yrs older than you 😉) that i need to get rid of negative thoughts and energy in my life. Life is short and when you look back and think of the time you spent thinking negatively or beating yourself up over stuff in your brain it truly is wasted time. Time you will never get back. You are letting those negative thoughts win and they dont deserve that prize! Absolutely not! Enjoy the lives we have been gifted and dont waste time on negativity, its never prosperous. 💕
I love and respect your choice not to show your baby on your channel. It's important to protect your children. :) Really enjoyed hearing you answer questions while working away on your sampler. It was like drinking tea and chatting with a friend. 💕
I was just so pleased but not surprised about your decision not to put your baby on your channel. “Observe and don’t absorb” is such great advice. It really helped me deal with my current unstable emotional ride. Thank you and stay wonderful and beautiful.
It makes me so happy that you will not be exploiting your baby on this outlet. So many influencers do. A child 16 and under cannot consent or have the ability to consent to dangerous predators and AI. I hope that the laws that are about to go into place will help all these children to be safe from such predators. Have a blessed day.
Completely agree not showing the bubba. I had a blog for years- my boys were only ever shown from the back and I didn’t use their names either or share things like school etc
I always wonder what your next video will be about. What a wonderful chat with the Cottage Fairy! Thank you Paola. Well wishes to you and Luke on your journey to parenthood. Congratulations on 1.5M subscribers!
Every time I watch these videos, I get so emotional for some reason. I think it’s because the world we live in, is so fast and chaotic that seeing someone else thrive at a pace that is more natural and grounding is so humbling. We were not meant to work ourselves into the ground. Thank you so much for sharing your story. My bf and I are really struggling with communicating right now about what we each need/want. The codependent part of me, wants to just agree without setting boundaries, bc that always feels safer.
Glad you learned all these important lessons about abuse when you are young. Your platform is very important to hopefully spare many from abuse and hopefully the individual is able to feel worthy of love and attract a gentle soul…!
I love how you view little children as magical developing little humans discovering the world. Your child is going to have lovely parents ! This was a such a cosy video. Thank you ! 🙏💕🌷
Dear Paola, you are such a Cottage Fairy gem and Luke is your perfect gem partner. Your relationship advice is so wonderful too. I love that you need to protect the privacy of your soon to be baby. Your videos have helped so many of your subscribers too. Thank you so much for all of your sharing.
Your comments about working with children sparked some thoughts for me. As a retired elementary teacher, I've had the joy of knowing many of my kids as children and as adults. This has been the greatest reward I could have ever asked for. Regarding your baby, you've made the best choice possible. Even though people would love to 'be involved', no one has the right to do that without your permission. Thank you for another wonderful video. I wish you good health and lots of rest!
My heart changed from being so afraid to become a mom & thinking I didn’t want to be a mom to desiring 4 babies and they are the JOY of my LIFE!! @@denisebell3435 Actually Denise I haven't visited this and many other sites for a while because I got sick of the depressing' whoa is me attitude' on many of them. I have more than once suggested to Paola that she should enjoy the life she has and to stop looking back on all of her past misery (a lot of folk have baggage but they don't bring it up at every opportunity). Told her to stop dwelling on the negatives. There are enough young people out there these days who seem to thrive on this negativity. They need to toughen up!! Seems to me Paola has an awesome family, fantastic husband and extended family, lives in a beautiful part of the world in a lovely home built for her by her hubby and FIL she should have nothing to be miserable about...and she is expecting a baby. She works in a book shop not a sweat shop life is pretty cushy I imagine. That said, yes she puts herself out there on the net but she also deserves the privacy to not talk about some things if she chooses. As a 70 something grandma... I have always felt fascinated by little humans. I grew up with all girls in my home. Dad was mostly working so it was me, my Mom, a little sister and an older sister. We were close as there was only 2 years between each of us. But since I was surrounded by girls... I found boys the most interesting, I envied people with brothers. I thought that must be so wonderful. So I had a son , who is now 51, and he gave me 3 grandsons!!!! They are now 29, 19 and 3 years old!!!! I got all my boys and found their growing from babies to young men, to fathers the most fascinating journey ever! My favorite artist is also Beatrix Potter and I loved Tasha Tudor. I love the textiles on your chair and lap blanket. The colors and patterns are soft and beautiful.
I love how open you are about mental health. I feel like you are such a "real" youtuber. One whom we can actually relate to! Keep it up! I know it takes vulnerability to be open about such things. But I feel like we need more awareness on this subject. Love that you mentioned brain rewiring! I'm currently do a course myself to help with my anxiety! I appreciate the creators who don't run ads during their videos as it allows me to be whisked away into a creative place. In turn, I commit to watching the ads before and after the video. I watch way more ads this way than those interrupting the video. Thank you! ps also, I totally understand and respect your decision to not show your baby. :).
I agree with your choice for your child. I have found it rather sad when a new baby or child is constantly exposed to a camera in their personal space. I am of the opinion this is really unhealthy. There is nothing wrong with taking pictures or filming family with moderation. But these days it seems a camera, iPhone, TV is what so many parents put in front of their little ones to pacify. ❤
I made the same decision with my baby and online! I dont share pictures of her online, at least not on an open channel. But I also rather not share her too much on my personal Facebook, because you never know what happens with your data. Anyway, everybody makes a choice of his/her own and hopefully people will respect your choice. I follow you because of you so I think seeing just a hint of a baby in your videos in the future, is also just fine. Whatever makes you feel comfortable! Love your videos, always. Xoxo from The Netherlands
There's a lot I love about so many of your videos, but I especially appreciate your emphasis on positivity and self-belief, even in the face of life's challenges. Broadly speaking, as a culture we've become much more open talking about anxiety, depression and other such mental struggles (as well as the larger systems that can help or hinder each of us in life's journey), and overall I think that's very needed and important. But one downside I've observed is that, without being balanced with a belief in one's own agency and resilience, these insights can actually encourage a sense of defeat and stuck-ness that is counterproductive. I've fallen into this trap myself at times, and seen many dear friends fall into it as well.... there's a lot of negative in the world that can be overwhelming and I don't blame anyone for feeling beaten down from time to time. But to believe you have the power to change your circumstances for the better in spite of life's challenges, however unfair those challenges are, is essential to human flourishing. The more we can help each other hold onto that, I think, the better off we'll all be. 🙏🏼
Marriage is a convenant between man and woman. It's a blessing from God when we wait for the one He has for us. It's great that you chose to keep your child off the camera. God gave you a beautiful baby boy. We are to lead our children in the way they should go.

Absolutely! Love and patience are the most important things in parenting... Unconditional love❤
Your personal choice not to share your precious baby is to me totally fine. Loved your video today ❤
"you did the best you could at the time"
There is tremendous healing to ourselves when we 'absorb' this truth, the one time it is beneficial, even if we have to hear it from another person.
I totally agree with your decision to not show your little one here online. Your cat is so cute 😊
I'm supportive as well. I would do the exact same thing if I was in her position.
One of the greatest treasures of raising my sons, and homeschooling them, was recapturing the wonder of life. It is so easy to lose that wonder, as adults. The way that the children repeatedly marvel at the new, and especially beautiful, things that they encounter, is truly infectious!
Mavi! What a ham 🥰
Ive spent the last 3 yrs of my life rewiring my brain.
I adore these little sit-downs, it feels like having a conversation with a friend. ❤
Like you said, a hand or foot but not their little face, etc. You are totally entitled to your privacy despite being on YT. I really admire your choice to protect your childs privacy too. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings. Such a beautiful video 💛🧡🤎
Amen to you for giving respect to your little one. I would expect no less from the Wonderful Cottage Fairy. Rest, refresh and relax. You are growing the miracle of life. x's, lj
Glad your fur babies are in your videos. Understand about your baby. Glad you are well!
Becoming a mother has been the best thing I’ve ever done. Wishing your little family well.
The silent You-Luke part. The way he is self contained is everything for us empaths ❤
I agree with no showing babies or children on the internet. Love your videos 💜🙏🏻🕊️💜
I have a UA-cam Channel as well. When I have kids of my own one day, I don’t plan on showing them on the internet either. I respect and support Paola’s decision. 🧚🏽💙
@@WoodlandFaerieCrochet I just subscribed to your UA-cam. 😊
@@donnaj.1634 Really?! You didn’t have to do that. Thank you!
@@WoodlandFaerieCrochet I t looks like a beautiful channel 😊
I think it’s really healthy to keep your baby offline, you just never know! Also just wanted to say your videos are shot so beautifully I love watching them
“Observe and don’t absorb” is such great advice.
You are radiating confidence and assertiveness, Paola! Loved this video ❄️
Thank you! Took several years to get there 😅 I’m trying and I appreciate your kind words
Thank you ! 🙏💕🌷
God bless you and your husband
Totally agree with your decision to keep your child off the internet. Your videos are always an inspiration to me.
Congratulations on your baby! Such a blessing and a beautiful journey ! ❤❤❤
My heart changed from being so afraid to become a mom & thinking I didn’t want to be a mom to desiring 4 babies and they are the JOY of my LIFE!! I had absolutely no idea what it would be like to love and be loved as their mommy and it truly does make life more magical, rewarding and meaningful! 🩷🩷🩵🩵
I would love to see your baby! His privacy and the privacy of your family is most important and I am glad you are protecting that privacy.
Feeling safe and respected, well put. I’m going through something with a family member and this hit close to home. Thank you 🧡🧡🧡
Keeping your life as private as possible, especially when it comes to children, it is a great decision. ❤
Your setting is so calming and soothing
That's one of my favorite parts of Paola's channel! Happily, it runs in her blood: her brother's channel is equally soothing!
It even extends to her fans. I can't think of another channel where reading the comments is as uplifting as the videos! 🙂
Everyone of us must do what feels right to them so as to have no worries or regrets. I am sure your baby will be beautiful and I look forward to your stories of motherhood and all the fun moments that brings.
I miss these days sometimes, especially with my oldest child. That girl is now 34 years old...and the time went by so FAST!!! It can seem hard at times but in the end the time just flies by.
I had to rewatch the video about three times and probably will watch it again. You look fabulously beautiful and the music, gorgeous back light and the view is pleasant to see. The cat stole my heart so playful in it’s little world.
I am delighted to hear about your life story and experiences the happy and sad moments and that’s life for all of us.
I adore your work and wish you always the best in life. 🌸 🌼🌻🍄🪺
"I learned to practice observing my emotions not absorbing my emotions" 💛Thank you, Paola.
Paola, your video was delightful……as always! Sending love from the Midwest. You are such a beautiful inspiration. ❤️🌸
The intro of the video, those objeçts are one of a kind... ❤ Beautiful!
So glad to hear you've decided to keep your little one offline. Very wise decision. Wishing you all the best. ❤
What a sweet vignette you make, sitting in that lovely corner…reminds me of an old Masters painting.
You are so wise beyond your years.
While I would love to see pictures of your baby, I believe that your decision is most prudent.
I so enjoy your videos. ♥️
Dear Paola, I really like your company. Your words reflect wisdom and a positive outlook on the world that have really impacted how I see things for the better. I cannot thank you enough ❤️
I'm so glad you won't be showing your little one on the internet.
I knew you'd have the maturity and wisdom to guard your child's privacy.
Wishing you and your family good health.
The question " why did you decide to become a mother"? ....what a very private and personal question to ask a stranger, to ask anyone in fact... all the best to you and Luke Paola for the safe arrival of your first child Im sure he/she will grow up much loved in your wonderful family❤
Same goes for "Why won't you become a mother?".
They are indeed private questions.
jenny c of course this girl is on the internet exposing her inner thoughts and life why not ask her that question .. she is always complaining about being tired, sick this and that normal that she does not sound healthy. so why not ask her. kids are not bunnies or cats or dogs they are human
None of us would like our private personal lives out there for all to see, just because they use FB, Twitter and god knows what else...I hate social media!! Have a great day and cheers from Western Australia
@@mmecharlotte yes i agree wholeheartly .. now a days one wants children for benefits only not really knowing that you come last and your children come first. so i respect girls that think twice before bringing in chiidren to this world because i just want a child ... . they grow nuts after birth and take it out on the child or partner.
15:56 I think your decision no t to show you= child's faces a very reasonable, and very protective idea, I respect your thoughtfulness and sensitivity to your child''s safety.❤
I love that you plan to keep your child out of the videos.
Both my daughters ask family members to not post their children pictures on FB. Many didn’t realize they were serious. Relationships had rough spots as a result. I am frequently ask why I don’t post grandchildren pictures. Many people have difficulty understanding any post goes all over the world.
Same as videos …
A point well taken that you mentioned that one needs their own space.
Although I’m sure we’d all love to “meet” your little son, it’s absolutely the right decision to protect his and your privacy and to keep that special relationship just between the three of you private. It’s just lovely to listen to you speak your thoughts, Paola, you have such wisdom and such a kind and gentle nature.
Nice little chat and love the cat and needlework atmosphere! Glad you are well resting quietly today.🐈⬛🧵🪡♥
Whatever you choose, everyone should respect, although it is exciting and lovely to admire and watch kiddos grow! I know he'll be intrigued and raised loving nature as his mommy! 🦋🌻🌾🌿🍀🍃🍂🍁
You are such a sweet beautiful person❤ you are also articulate and wise beyond your years..loved your book also. I love the calm simple beauty of these videos and seeing your artistic talent. I really enjoy watching these even though my style of decorating, creating, living is different in some ways( I'm more of an old world renaissance style..rustic,italian elegance) but still this all resonates with me because you are authentic, creative, passionate, and wholehearted and share how YOU are doing that! So thank you and God bless you and your family❤
One of my favorite vloggers is Fairyland Cottage in Ireland. They had a baby and were very good about not showing her. The vlogs are very well done just like yours. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to anything you wish to share.
Your compassion, empathy, openness and curiosity will undoubtedly guide you in being a wonderful mother! Wishing you peace, health and love!
Hi from Brazil!!!🇧🇷 I just wanna say that i loooveeee your work, I watch all your videos, since quarantine they have been like therapy for me. Thank you for sharing magic, hope and humanity through your inspiring videos, I love you so much and I wish you the best❤
I think you are making the right decision with not showing your child on line, we can just imagine the cuteness which will no doubt exist! Love your videos, and love to see how you are growing more peaceful, accepting, and happy with yourself. I'm a big fan of your happiness, and I'm giving you a hug from afar!
You are going to be a great mom. Enjoy your moments and the rest will fall into place.
It is wonderful that you have made the plan not to put your baby boy on the internet. Cherish this special time with your sweet baby boy❤❤❤
Truly amazing how our body can heal itself if our nervous system is regulated!
I am watching your video while doing embroidery to make a gift for my mother...It is amazing to see 'chosen one' ' life is almost similar..
Querida Paola, I loved spending time listening to you in such a warm and intimate space you create! Sending you, Luke ,and baby much love and blessings! For me parenting has been the most amazing spiritual journey!
You are soooo soothing! Love your videos, thank you!
Dear Paola, I haven't watched you videos in a long time. You are such an inspiring and intelligent woman. This is one of the best talks I've ever heard. Thank you so much for your work, your wisdom and for sharing your thoughts and insights. It is such a delight to be back.
I was so hoping we wouldn't see your baby, as much as I love looking at adorable little bubs, I just don't think it's healthy in so many different ways. Great choice 🩷
As I sit here waiting for one of my little humans to come out of school, I am watching your video. I started to feel like a beautiful artwork had come to life...the setting, your outfit, and the rhythm of the embroidery thread was so serene. Thank you for the chat today. ☺
You are amazing. You are so wise for someone so young. Pursuing peace and happiness has definitely made my soul happy. I hope it brings the same for you. God bless you and your family ❤❤
I couldn’t agree more with everyone who has affirmed your choice to protect your child with regard to the internet. God bless you and your lovely family!
What a beautiful way to protect your child from the world. Keeping him/ her privately precious - kudos to you and your lil growing family ❤ God Bless
Wow, you have gifted us with the keys to a harmonious, loving, rewarding and elegant life. Thank you for your gentle wisdom. Namaste
Congratulations on your new arrival! A true blessing! Share what you want, keep the rest and live well!
That lamp and the embroidery! I want! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love that lamp!!
Marriage is a convenant between man and woman. It's a blessing from God when we wait for the one He has for us. It's great that you chose to keep your child off the camera. God gave you a beautiful baby boy. We are to lead our children in the way they should go.
We love the kitty …don’t edit out …🐈⬛❤️🥰
Thank you so much for sharing. I also feel like you. Learning to observe and not absorve. I´ve been watching you for a whole year ( and maybe more) and I can see how you have changed throughout your videos and not only that I recognize changes in myself. That thought made me happy. Looking back you were the perfect company for the process I´ve been living. Thank God and you of course for being brave and keep opening up your heart. I would love to learn that from you and find new ways of being courageous and offer what I was given. Sending my love, Có from Argentina.
Paola thanking you for taking time and energy to share your incredible encouraging words of introspection and wisdom. I truly needed this so much at this time in my life. BTW I just turned 61 in enero. Blessings and lots of warmth and love right back at you. ❤
Listening to you talk is truly the most grounding and comforting experience of my (and probably a lot of other peoples’) day 😌😊
