- My IXS trigger FF was finally delivered. In this video I go over my first impressions and give a quick review. Hopefully this shines a little light on why I am trying out this light weight full face helmet.
This was great man, I had questions about sizing, but you answered them - thank you.
Thanks for checking out the video. I'm glad you found what you were looking for! 👍
Your review finalized my decision to get this helmet. Got the mips model. Thanks for your review. 👍
Glad it helped!
I think you will be very happy with the purchase and hopefully never have to test it on the trail! 😊
@@HeretoWherever yes very happy and is not a chore to wear. We live here in the middle east where ambient temperature and humidity can really mess you up inside a full face helmet. The trigger is so light and well ventilated that it really helped in that aspect. Had the helmet since January and I also made a similar unboxing and review but in my native Filipino tongue.
I just got one WITH mips for $250 shipped. I’m just getting into mtb but I had braces as a kid so I I feel the $250 is justified when my braces were 13 grand. Pro tip: sign up for retailers email lists so you get a discount code. I took $60 off the IXS trigger with MIPS on competitive cycling, most other shops excluded helmets.
I just got one of these in the camo colour for €200, usually €270, and it the MIPS version also!! Haven't used it yet but first impression are very good!! Nice review 👍👍
Thanks! My wife actually just got a Kali Invader 2.0 and we did a quick head to head. It's a nice helmet too but the IXS has a good track record and it hard to beat!
P.S. I am jealous of that camo pattern 😫
Just watched this Review. Weil done sir! everything on Point! Thank you
I'm glad you found it useful. Thanks for the support! 😀
Until the people who make MIPS or other systems (like Endura's straw-thingy) provide proof that they actually have a (positive) effect on safety, I will stand by my believe that it is just a marketing gimmick. Chin bar is definitely a welcome feature though, not just to protect your jaw from serious injury, but it is also a fantastic mounting location for a GoPro with their hypersmooth image stabilization since the Hero7 Black upwards.
I'm going to have to give the go pro mount a shot! I'd like to see some head to head (no pun intended) tests showing when mips helps and where it may lead to further issues.
@@HeretoWherever As far as I can tell, none of those companies release their testing data and methods. So all we have is their word for it.
MIPS has been around for 10+ years and helmets are tested regarding how they handle rotational impact. To carry the MIPS label the helmet has to be 10% better with than without but some helmets test 60% better. So when it comes to my brain, am I going to choose to save $30, which on a $259 helmet to $289 is only a mere 11.5% while I'm riding a bike I paid thousands of dollars for? Really? No I'm going to break the bank, get a loan, take out a second mortgage, and spend the extra $30. But MIPS isn't the only rotational impact protection technology either and I'm not saying MIPS is better or worse than any of those others. I'm opting for one of them in every helmet.
Can I use the MIPS liner from my IXS Trigger AM on the Trigger FF non-mips?
This helmet is really comfortable and lightweight for the pedaling for long long distances and climbing long time ?...thanks
You should have weighed the “light” chicken soup!! Scam!
But seriously great video
Thanks friend! You are so right though total missed opportunity on my part!! :D
Looks like now they have the MIP version of Trigger FF for $30 more
Oh cool! I wonder how that one is going to fit. Biggest complaint with it so far for me is that it's a little creaky sounding sometimes. Granted I may just never notice that with other helmets that don't cover my ears.
Ok I also hate that drinking from a water bottle is harder but that's a full face helmet issue in general.
Good to have more options out there regardless!
Is this a "graphite" colour?
Yes, they refer to the gray color as graphite.
That looks exactly like the online pic
Maybe I'm color blind and haven't known until now? Either way love the helmet!
