His fight against the army was part of the mission aswell but this time he wasn't allowed to survive. In order to save Cloud and Aerith he had to die. ShinRa had to believe the "cause" of all the previous events had been eradicated. He died of free will, not because he wasn't strong enough. And that's what makes him a hero.

Originally he did die for Cloud. Also sometimes the best stories are the one shot ones. Him dying gave way to a successor. It's symbolic since Zack was the successor to Angeal. It's a beautiful thing they portrayed in the game. Besides any other game Zack's death is probably the most beautiful tragedy I have ever cried for to this day.
Remember when Cloud Killed Sephiroth(Sephiroth is Not Dead in this version of FFVII)?. Aftef that Hojo Tooked Zack and Cloud to his experimentation. then Zack and Cloud escaped from his experiment. AND THEN. The Shinra was chasing after those two
and Square hasn't re-released or ported this on PS4 or Vita why? it doesn't need to be a full remake. just give it better graphics, like what happened with Gravity Rush, Toikiden, and God Eater when they got ported to PS4.

It kind of upsets me that to play through the whole story, you need to play Final Fantasy VII with the bad graphics. They should remake Final Fantasy VII with graphics as good as these!
nope. genesis makes an appearance in the secret ending of dirge of cerberus, after advent children. he's only refered to as "G" there but he doesnt look anything like kadaj in it so...

Kadaj spoke much more informally than Genesis,didn`t have Genesis`s accent and was "born" along with Loz and Yazoo at the end of FFVII when Cloud and Sephiroth fell into The Lifestream,mixing with JENOVA`s remains and Negative Spirit Energy concentrated at the Northern Crater.Also,Genesis was Sephiroth`s failed prototype,Kadaj was his remnant and avatar. All JENOVA-spawn save Cloud,Zack,Sephiroth and the Geostigma-infected kids refer to themselves as "Brothers and sisters" in reference to their Reunion Instincts and SOLDIER training.
