Grey hair looks so nice on you! I’m glad women are starting to allow their hair to transition. I’m thinking about also allowing my hair to grey instead of dying it all the time.
Thank you! I had no idea how I would feel... ditching the dye has been a really neat experience so far!
Your grow out looks lovely on you. Really pretty.
Thank you!!
I love your silver hair. ❤Keep the length.
Hiii! Thank you for your comment. I think I will keep it long, lol I think!
I also think it’s awesome that so many women are letting their hair grow out. When I see another woman it gives me strength to go on. I do kind of feel bad ass. It takes a lot of guts I never ever knew I had to do this cold Turkey.
Yeaaaah baby! Total Badass! I love it tooooo!! 🎉🩶🎉😄🙌🏼
You look so beautiful with that hair color! 😍it gives me courage. Also, I have the sprouts coming out..
Looking awesome!!
I’m right behind you at 9 months! Although I recently started experimenting with using overtone (so far purple, espresso, extreme silver, black and blue in various combos) It makes the demarcation much less noticeable and temporarily colors my greys purplish that fades to lavender and pink and eventually back to silver. Not recommending this to anyone though bc it’s a risk of staining the greys. I had really long hair I cut to a short bob right before my grow out so I only have about 5 “ of old henndigo color left, though I desperately miss my long flowing locks and look forward to growing my hair long again over next few years. Thank you for all the content and sticking with it!! Your hair is absolutely gorgeous! And you are so blessed with a supportive partner! Keep on shining sister!💕
HI! thank you so much, I really appreciate you being here!! Gosh, your grow out sounds like it looks really beautiful!!!
I'm 15 months on the journey. When I go out, I put my hair up in the back. Thanks for tips about hair products that help with breakage. Yes, I've been having some. You have a beautiful head of hair.
Simply AMAZING ! ! ! Silver is the New Gold . . .
Yessss!!!!
Thank you Irene! You are a beautiful person! Inside and out clearly! Those suggestions were very helpful! I will look into these ❤❤❤❤
I just shaved all my color off bald and I’m starting that way I’m a bit scared, I have people telling me “your going to color it again there’s no way your gonna leave it like that” I don’t want to go back to color but that means allowing myself to actually radically accept myself this way. I’m nervous 😬 I wish I could just confidently walk into this journey but it’s such a hard thing to do for others to accept what my decisions are with my own hair. I’m done with box dye and coloring all the grey. I’m excited to see how I will look and I wish that my close friends would support me but they don’t. Because they don’t want to accept their grey either.
Hey Rachel, I just want to say that I think shaving your head bald to let your gray hair shine through is such a bold and beautiful move. Embracing your natural self shows incredible confidence and self-assurance. Going gray is not for everyone, and not everyone is going to like it. But wow… once you step into this journey you will realize how empowering and liberating it truly is!!!
Gray hair carries its own unique beauty and signifies wisdom and experiences. It's such a wonderful way to embrace the aging process gracefully. Remember, everyone's opinions are subjective, but what truly matters is how you feel about yourself. By choosing to embrace your gray and showing the world your true self, you'll inspire others to do the same. You're setting an empowering example for embracing authenticity, and that's something to be truly proud of. 🤗
If you ever need support or someone to talk to about this journey, know that I'm here for you every step of the way. And you’ve already taken a HUGE first step! You're amazing just the way you are, and I believe in you. Rock your gray, my friend!
I'm about to start mine😊, I really love the way yours has turned out 🤩
Ooooh thank you and congratulations on your decision!!! 🩶🙌🏼😄🖤
Keep it long and just get trims is what I recommend. I'm doing that too. 6 months since my last dye. I have quite curly dark hair. I'm loving the dramatic effect of the light silvers against the dark. If you love long hair then there's no rushing the process. It's been amazing seeing how much quicker my hair has grown now it's alot healthier. I've had alot of food allergies too which includes coconut. It's very hard to find hair products that don't contain coconut or my other allergens. I only use 2 products besides shampoo and conditioner and my hair is better than ever.
I enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing.
Congratulations on your 6 months!! Love it! When your curls get longer and weave in and out, the color combination gets even more exciting to see!
@@ireneclaire thanks. So much more exciting than just brown!!
Your so pretty 😍 thank for this video I’m enjoying connecting with you thru video super nice in growing my grey hair but going to salon to add more white cause my hair doesn’t look like this it’s more like just random grey strands on top doesn’t look good
Hello!!! Thank you so much. 🤍🩶 I hope you love your new highlights and they come out exactly how you want them to. 🤗
You are beautiful and so is your hair! I just started growing my grays out. I’m in about 3-4 months now and I’m actually loving it. 🤩
I'm 8 months late but yes to the bob :) The light hair at the temples is great 😊 Putting your hair up leaving those light strands out would look so cute.
❤️❤️❤️
I luv your hair! The bob would look good too.
Thank you so much!!! Probably wont cut it... but who knows lol
I love your house, love your hair, love the way it looks on you ❤
Thank you so much!!😊
So inspiring! Suits you! I'm 12 months in and liberated at 41 years old. Chopped to bob which I adore
Fuuuun! Love it! 💖🙌🏼💖
Your gray is SO beautiful!! So striking & it will just keep getting better. I’m 10 months in & no looking back, I love my gray & get so many compliments now, I’m 44
& one thing life has taught me is it’s too short to be a slave to the bottle! I’ve only done 2 trims as well, bout the same length. Im keeping it long.
Hiiiii time twinsie! I love it! Congrats on your 10 months, it is a neat place to be... I will be 44 in March. :D
Ugh...I am going into week 6 and I even think I look bad😢. Everyone's eyes focus on the "runway". I am determined, but not liking where I am at the moment, other than so glad I don't have to worry about hair color appointments!! 🎉🎉
Oh and seeing lots of new growth in my part line and around my face. I chuckle because I have Christmas silver strands like tinsel!❤
Hats, wraps and headbands baby!! The beginning is the hardest part!! Give it at least 10 months to see what your pattern does. You got this!!!!!! 💋💋💋💋💋
Wow look at you I remember watching your first videos it looks fab! I'm nearly finished growing out my silvers I don't regret in one bit , we'll done you x
What a journey!! Thank you and congrats on your grow out!!!!! 🥳🎉🙌🏼💥
@ireneclaire thank you hun :))) I just wish I had done it years ago and been braver to do so feel so much freedom not having to colour my hair anymore it's great keep going on your journey your doing fab ❤️
You are beautiful with your gray hair! I am 31 soon and going gray as well. I am also Caucasian and Hispanic if you're curious of how my complexion may match my turning gray hair as a male since my early 20s.
Watching you and other ladies has helped me with my transition. My hair is salt and pepper and I love it! I did cut my hair short which I don’t mind because hair grows back; I’m just speeding up the process in seeing all my hair with no die :)
Hi there!!!! Thank you for being here with me. 😄 Doesn’t it feel so good to shed the old color!!?? 🙌🏼🩷
I think you look stunning with your hair like that I would let it grow. I wouldn’t cut it into a Bob because it’s too pretty just keep trimming it specially if you like long hair, I just started my journey a month ago and I’m 63 but I’m like you I have a Lotta dark hair. But I’m excited and I am definitely ready to embrace my grays.❤
OOOOH yay for your journey! How exciting!! :) Yeah, I am going to keep it long... lol I think!
I think September may have been my last hair color. This is my 3rd time trying to go grey I’m getting more compliments which is giving me the courage to go on. Some days I do want to color but I’m trying to hang in there! 😊
I stopped dying my hair three years ago and I love it. I’ve got a white sort of fringe and a few sparkly bits towards the back. I’m 55 and really love the changes in my hair. I will say though, if you don’t want to leave your hair to go grey, that’s great too ❤
Agreed! That's the beauty of choice. :) So happy you are loving it, I am loving this journey as well. It is not for everyone and that's ok.
I love how your hair looks!
It’s really pretty with your half black half silver. Preferable to half brassy half silver
Thank you so much Angie!! 🤍🖤🩶
I started going grey 5 years ago. Took my dark hair to a pixie and bleached it. Funny enough I was more concerned about growing the pixie out than the grey. I love my hair now. I still have brown hair in the back and underneath , I think I'm about 80% now. . It is low maintenance and freeing. Your grow out is lovely. Can't wait to see the rest of your journey.
Hey Amanda! Great to hear from you and thank you for being here. You were bold to cut it into a pixie! RAWK!!!
We always think about what other people...that's why we cover the grey anyway
Thanks my dear for your inspirational video ❤️❤️❤️ you look great ❤️❤️
I'm myself in the process of growing out grey hair ♥️♥️♥️
Congratulations on your grow out!!! 🤗
Looks amazing! You have been my
Motivation and I am on month 7 and sticking with it
Hiiii Wendy! How exciting. Thank you for being on this journey with me!!🤗
Watch the Olaplex. Revised formula removed the citrus acid and benzate sodium which combined is carcinogenic. After the voluntary recall, resalers have continued selling. Amazon did and returned.
I am enjoying my transition but stopped colouring decades ago.
Heat protection typically comes in two types. Blow dry or flat/curly iron formula. A stylist recommended knowing difference to avoid burning.
You look beautiful.
Thank you! I appreciate hearing from you. 🤗
I went silver/ gray a couple of years ago and I made the best decision. My complexion is olive and my hair color contrasts well .
But I did this to except my aging a natural process and I simply to not want to fight a losing battle .
Love that you are loving it!! 😁🙌🏼
Here's an idea, you can just put highlights on the bottom, right where the gray ends and then you won't have to wait or even think about chopping it off if you really don't want to. I wouldn't do it if you have any reservations whatsoever of it was me, cause even though hair seems to grow fast, it really doesn't when you're trying to grow back a lot of length. It takes years, my hair was in a pixie in 2008 and now finally all the way down my back and I've only had a few trims, maybe 1/2 inch or so. So I hope you're happy with whatever your decision happens to be and you're looking great 👍😃 good seeing you, I was wondering how your gray hair journey was going.
Hiiii! Great to hear from you and thank you for your comment. 🤗
Your hair grow out looks beautiful!! I’m 59 brunette on week 4 so just started! I’m happy to have found your channel for tips and tricks. I was at my 4 week appointment with stylist yesterday and informed her my decision. The owner of salon came over and said “another one bites the dust” that didn’t feel good. I’m still really excited but nervous about this taking year’s transition as I have about your length hair.
Hi Laurie, thank you so much for being here!!! Congratulations on your journey, I’m so excited for you!! 🤗
Ewe to the owner! She has no idea what an incredible journey you have just begun. If you haven’t already… start taking biotin. It will help with growth. 😘
Thanks!! I have not if you can recommend a biotin product that would be great! I had planned dying until retirement (one year away) but just feel so good and excited about my decision. Taking photos to document this journey. Love your videos!
The salon owner is just upset about the loss of money. Power on Silver Sister.
Beautiful thick hair. Grey suits you.
Thank uuuuu 🤗
You look so gorgeous. I love how your hair looks, my last color(home root touch up) was in March. I’ve been following you on your journey and we have a similar pattern except you have those two fun dark pieces in the front with the silver. You have been an inspiration on my journey. I have some brassiness in my ends and the purple or blue shampoo didn’t work I would like to use something to tone it darker any suggestions ? I just want to put it on the dyed hair. Maybe a type of color conditioner?
Hellooooo and thank you for your comment. 🤗
Hmmm… If it were my hair, I go to a salon and have them put a toner on just the ends. They will be able to see everything better and have more control on staying AWAY from your new beautiful silvers. 😘
I’m very similar to you! I’m at the year mark (I should film another update) I cut my hair recently and I’m so glad I did, but I’m with you, I like long hair, so even though I chopped off A LOT it is layered and still looks long ish. You can see my last grey hair video “the big chop” if you want to see.
Yours looks soooooo awesome! 👏🏼 🥰🎉Congrats on your journey… you are rockin it!
I am one month behind you so it’s neat to see what I have to look forward to!🤍🤍✨
Such a neat journey! Congrats baby! MUAH!
Your hair looks beautiful, I'm in the process of letting my grey grow in. Love videos that encourage Women to embrace their grey hair❤❤ Hugs from Washington State.
Thank you so much! Hugs back from Georgia!
@@ireneclaire :)
Hello from Sweden, how long did you practice the dye strip method? Does it work with curly hair? Love your content.
@irene. Love your channel and enjoy watching your journey. My hairdresser suggested I use 3in1 molecular cbd treatment. Have you used this on your grays? I am so hesitant to risk yellowing my silvers.
Hellooooo! I have never heard of it… definitely do some research if you decide to try it.
Absolutely they are natural highlights!
Yeaaaah! 💥🙌🏼💥
I’m think you would look gorgeous with a bob. That’s what I just did and I started the grow out around the same month as you
Your hair is gorgeous, you would definitely suit a bob but I would keep it long as it's really beautiful. Do you use straighteners and if so how often? I'm 6 months in and would love to be able to straighten my hair on occasions (say twice a month).
Hi! thank you so much! Yes I use a flat iron but keep the temp on low. I would say that I use mine about 2 to 3 times a month. I also wash less frequently when my waves are straightened out... I'd say about 6 days.
I went shoulder length because my hubby like my long hair. It helps it but I had it brown for a while so it help turn faster.
Thank you for this video
Thank you for watching! 🥰
Hi my gorgeous sis. You are fabulous 🥰♥️
Helloooooo gorgeous sis!!! Happy to see you here! 💋💋💋💋💋
You look so good with the gray
Thank you!
Hi Irene Claire, we talked many month ago..! Wow, so beautiful shades! Girl what in the world do you do to grow your hair soooo fast?? You're way ahead of me and i just compleat my 14th month!! Must be the age..🤣
Also i learned that toners leave always pigments on silver hair, so my hair became brassy yellow and brownish in some spots. Now i know! Actually no need for that! Just clarifieing shampoo, i also use Olaplex and sometimes purple shampoo and conditionner. By the way conditionner on dry hair lifts much more..
Back to you, if i where you i would get just the same cut that you have, witch is perfect, but everything like 5 inches shorter!
Would look great and brings you a giant step further to completition 🤗😘
let me know! Big hug from Switzerland.
HIIIIIII! So great to hear from you again!! I take biotin daily and really think it is helping with the growth. Do you take it?
I haven't started trimming yet, my hair is your length. Like you think, I'll start having a trim as I like the feel of my long hair. 🩶
Yes,,, and I love that healthy feeling. When my ends start feeling dry I better get to the salon QUICK or else I’m cutting it at home! 🤣🙌🏼
I got my hair cut into a Pixie. I’m getting the blonde cut off as I go.
@@debbieleonard4127 love it!!! Congrats!!🎉
@@ireneclaire thank u. I think my natural color is going to be a dark gray
It looks great long! I'm doing it! 😊
YEAAAAH BABY! Congrats on your decision!!
Gorgeous hair colour love it
Thank you so much!!
Looking beautiful 😍
Thank you gorgeous!! So happy to have you here! 🤗🩶🖤💀
I am in 10 month in too 🎉… you look great 😊
Thank you and congrats on 10 months!! That is awesome!!!
Unfortunately not all of us get nice salt and pepper gray. Remember that you might not get the cool pretty colors you see on many videos, even with purple shampoo. I did a few yrs of grow out and the bangs and some areas around my head were a pretty silver. The rest of my hair was a strange brown color which after about 2 yrs I am ready for change. I dont want to add dye and chase the gray again BUT I do want a nicer tone than I have. I decided to bleach and tone to a lovely silver color. This way I can grow out gray and it will blend without using dye. My hair is healthy so the process went well.
That’s awesome! Glad it went well and your hair is healthy. ☺️💗
Love your sliver hair 😍
Thank you so much!!!
Sooo pretty!
Thank uuuuu 💜💜💜
Hi, your gray and colored hair compliment your beautiful face. Don't cut it, for now, let it grow out. I am 4'11" tall and my hair is taller than I am. I cut several inches off every few months, my hair is white around the temples just like yours. But more so on the left side, I don't know how to style my hair without having to take too long doing it. Plus it gets in the way of work, etc. How did you transition from leaving your hair down long? This is my first time watching your video. 🌺❤️🙂
Don’t cut it! You’re beautiful!!
Just trims here and there! 😁🙌🏼 Thank you!
I would cut it into a bob to get rid of the old dyed hair. You look very beautiful with your new natural hair! ❤
She's very pretty..
Thank you!
❤❤❤❤
❤️❤️❤️
I'm going gray myself I stop coloring my hair one month ago I too have black hair color I'm a white woman 66 do u have any ideas what makeup colors works fir for me
Hello!! If we have a similar skin and hair color… I think soft pinks and mauves are a good look.
I let my hair go grey as I have intolerant to any dye product. 🤪
💥🙌🏼💥
You look very beautiful n charming. I like it.😊😊😊😊😊.
Did you always have black hair?
8/10/3024..I made the decision
Yaaaay!!! Congratulations!! 🎊🎉 Thays awesome. Enjoy the process.
beautiful
Thank you! 😊
Bravoooo bravoooo. Bravissimma❤🇬🇪🇬🇪👍👍👍👍🙏🇬🇪
yaaaaaay!! hahhaaaa :)
It happens the same to me when I watch old photos no matter what colour I had. For some reason, it doesn't look right.
In my case I managed to disguise the demarcation line by cutting layers. I have a shag. It helped a lot. I'm on my 14th month mark.
About the care, I'm curly/wavy so I'm used to wear hair masks, leave-in, curl cream and what not. I just added a purple shampoo in the mix.
Those old pics!! hahahaa geeez. A shag is a WONDERFUL idea. Still have length AND cutting more off. Love it!
❤❤🙏
Its genetics i have grey hair it started to grey in my mid 20
Totally. I started early 20s.
@@ireneclaireyou are beautiful woman grey looks good on you
@@ireneclaireI used to have black hair a while ago 😂
Does anyone else have those strands that cant decide if they want to be black or grey? 😂
So they are both lol
🤣🙌🏼
I would cut at least 3 inches of the length.
🤗❤️
I would say to recomment getting your dark hair lightened by a profesional not darken more! Im using GO GRAY sets....
Let it be long trim a little
Yeah… that’s what I decided on. 🤗 Thank you Kim!
Why is your hair sticking up on top🤔the strands sticking up like antennas.
@@janetleight8788 it’s called new hair growth.
