Your video was a greaaaat help for me! Finally after months of thinking how to fix my ipad and searching for LCD repairs I bumped into your video and followed all your steps and they worked!
Very happy to hear the good news. Mine is still working, several months onward. What model ipad/phone are you using? Hope this info can help others too.
Same issue with my IPAD and i gave it to technician yesterday and today they told me the repair cost for a new display is 30K rupee, meanwhile i searched video related to ipad burn display, and your video comes in the suggestion, now it is very tough to wait for 1 or 2 hour me to wait for my IPAD, when it will be delivered by technician and i shall apply your method.
I’m Having this issue for several days for now. Rapidly changing the brightness till it gets fixed works for me for now. Also I belive warming it up with a blow dryer helps a bit.
Thank u so much, this happened to me when I dropped my iPad into water and it went into my usb c, Apple told me to wait but I was to impatient and decided to use a hair dryer😂
Now I understand. I was confused that what I thought was my screen breaking down, was actually a burn like my old plasma television. I could not figure out how suddenly after a while it was OK. Now I will always stand by after use rather than leave a still lit screen. I think I'm correct with my analogy. Reducing the brightness certainly helped recovery. Thanks very much.
@@ganeshsubramanya21 It seems the Apple store has a flat-rate repair charge, regardless of exactly what the problem is. Loose battery cable? Pay for the battery replacement! Bad SSD? Pay for motherboard replacement too. Look on youtube at Louis Rossmann's videos for plenty of examples of this. Me personally, if I can avoid going to Apple and I have a free stopgap fix which does what I need, I will stick with the free fix until it really breaks.
I have a question for you. I have a small Apple Mini IPad iii and it seems like it’s been operating fine so far. However, during the last few weeks, I took a series of pictures with it under a semi obscure light, inside of my house. As soon as I started looking at my pictures in my gallery I noticed different kinds of interesting crazy paranormal phenomenons appearing inside the pixels, which actually looked a lot like unknown people or faces. I was just wondering if all the iPads do that, or if it’s not just a figment of my imagination? I need to know your opinion on that please. Thank you for this magnificent presentation. Johnny, Montréal, Canada 🇨🇦
Mine has been okay since I posted the video, but I don't expect this to last forever. Any extra day of use is 1 extra day I don't have to pay to fix it. If it acts up again, please let us all know.
If tried the method in this video already, and it did not work, or if you do not want to use this setting change method of masking the problem, your next step is going to be a physical screen replacement. I suggest ifixit.com , they have complete kits and very detailed videos. I do not receive any sponsorship from them. They just do a really good job.
Dunno if it will help anyone.. but after my Air 2 flashed white and became blurry and oversaturated i did the exact same thing and reducing the white point all the way down 25% and turning the icon off/on and keep the ipad turned off for a while it might be the LCD’s
You can adjust the 'reduce white point' percentage to see if this makes any difference in your situation. Note that the changes take some time to 'settle in', it seems like some pixels that are 'over excited/over bright' take time to 'calm down/dim down to normal'. Using quotes here because I really don't know what the technical words are.
That would require physical screen replacement. You can search "ifixit screen replacement" + the model of your device, and they got very high quality instructions on how to replace the display.
Mine is like REALLY burnt… It’s like all over, and it appears ALL THE TIME. When I turn it off, you see like white instead of black when it fades. It’s THAT bad… Update : We found it, this definitely helped!
Could you post what model device you have? This way we can figure out if there is any pattern. Also, if it stops working, let us know too. Mine is still working, but I don't expect it to last forever. Fingers crossed for all of us!
dear lord every screen i go onto burns int my ipad now, i had this issue like a few months back, reducing white point helped alot, but now.. dear lord.. its the worst burn in problem ive seen
HEADS UP EVERYONE!! I did the same thing 6 months ago and thought it would fix it. Stumbled upon this video trying to find solutions. So im just here to tell you that this just fixes the visual field of the device and not the actual LCD. Last week my iPad turned into a white screen with a black halo around it. This means that my LCD just burnt/fried. If you are looking for a long time/permanent fix, i suggest to get your LCD changed or just get a new one. I'm actually kinda broke so i have no money to fix mine, just finding tricks in the internet. Goodluck everyone and have a nice day.
Thanks for sharing! You are totally correct -- this 'reduce white point' only masks/hides the problem. So far, I had to re-do it once, and this is letting me delay the replacement screen. Even if it is only 1 more day ,that's 1 extra day that I don't have to pay!
skin disease like cracked? or washed out? or dimmer? If you are using the 'reduce white point', a more agressive reduction does impact color. I have mine set at 80%. You can consider trying different % to see what a good balance is,this probably varies from device to device.
There are lots of different ways the display controller chip can fail. You could try setting the reduce white point to one extreme percentage or another for an hour of usage. If that doesn't make any difference, then this method won't help I'm afraid you're looking at a physical replacement of the screen next.
i have same problem. if yougi to ID screen apple ID screen and some buttun click, the ipad become normal brightness. i think it is not hardware problem software is.
I found that reducing white point along with increasing contrast improved it and makes it seem more normal without the burning.
Great, thanks for sharing the info! Hope these methods can help more people. I'll try twiddling with the contrast too.
I followed your advice and it works. Thanks, man!
Thx sooo much !!!!!!!
Thanks for wearing your mask. I appreciate not being infected with COVID through UA-cam.

Hello ! I have a question, does the screen still work normally ? People say that this is only a temporary fix.
