      Wa alaykum as Salam depends on where you want to work long term - ACCA is internationally recognised. I’d do more research into the country you want to work but I’d say outside of US ACCA will stand out more

    Hello Fehzan, I am currently on the first year of a level aiming to get AAA* ,what route would you recommend to become a chartered accountant , my understanding is either University or AAT and then ACCA , but I am not too sure. Thanks for your time and a great video.

      Do an apprenticeship mate get qualified in 5 years - your grades are good enough for big 4 they all have schemes with the ACA that you can join

    Hello Fehzan, very informative video. I have one question.I am about to finish my degree in business administration. But I have only take 3 accounting courses in the degree program. Do I have to start from AAT level 1 to become an accountant? Because I am not feeling that my degree has prepared me enough for accounting roles. I look forward to hear your answer.

    • @FehzanMehdi
      @FehzanMehdi  2 роки тому

      No you don't need to have a finance/accounting degree to start a chartered qualification such as the ACA. You can apply for a grad scheme so long as you meet their entry requirements.

    Hey, great video! Someone in banking/finance would reach a salary of £100k(almost guaranteed if in London). How long would it take for an accountant to reach £100k and what would be the fastest route to get there? Keep up the good work 👍

      Thanks mate appreciate the kind words honestly can take 12-15 years which is much longer but equally the career span of an accountant is much longer than a bankers so you may earn £100k but with the sort of hours they make you do it’d be an achievement if you last more than 5 years in the industry

    Assalamu alaikum brother, love your content. I am on ACA Trainee with regional firm and would like to move to Big 4 what are some steps I can take to get there. I would appreciate if you can advise on application process and benefits etc it would mean a lot to me brother.

      Wa alaykum as Salam so if you’re looking to move as part qualified I wouldn’t recommend it as the big 4 rarely recruit at the part qualified level what would be better is if you go into a semi senior (part qualified) role at a top 10 firm that would be much better and then move once you’re qualified. Either way best to try get into the big 4 once you’re qualified as you’ve already started your training

    As salamu Alaikum.
    I am a parent and my son wants to study overseas for icaew qualification as there is no tuition provider for school leavers in our country. What will be a good option- ACCA in home or ACA in UK from an income perspective? Some people say local CA qualifications give a high pay than ACCA.
    Please consider my question so that I can guide my son.
    Thank you. Hope that your career and channel both grows at a very rapid speed.

      @@FehzanMehdi Thanks for answering to my comment.
      I am actually from Bangladesh. He is interested in doing ICAEW or ACCA due to their more global affiliation compared to that of ICAB i.e. the local CA.
      Will it be a good option to go overseas for ICAEW rather than studying ACCA/ICAB in home country? Will a global qualification be more helpful for a dynamic career than a local one?
      Some website say there will be little to no difference but in some website they glorify ACCA/ICAEW. I am a bit confused.
      Sorry for an XL enquiry comment😊

      To gain the ACA / ACCA you need to have 3 years work experience as well which you will need a visa for. Will he be able to get this? You can’t become ACA by just passing exams need experience too so he needs to be able to work abroad as well.

    As salamu alaikum brother.I am from Bangladesh. My question is how important is it to have a bachelor's degree in my CV even after I am a qualified ACA/ACCA?
    Moreover, Can I do an MBA on the basis of ACA/ACCA even if I don’t have any University degree?

    • @FehzanMehdi

      Wa alaykum as Salam in the U.K. not very important and yes you can do a MBA after aca without a degree. But different countries may require a degree as that’s the norm there.

    Hi Fehzan,
    Thank you so much for your videos, they’re always great and cut straight to the point!
    I’m a first year audit trainee in practice but I already know that I will want to go into industry when I qualify, it’s very apparent to me that the work life balance in public becomes far worse at manager/director level.
    Is there anything I can do to make myself more attractive to industry while still training? I can do a 3-6 month placement in another department and provide ‘preferred’ client types after about a year.

    • @FehzanMehdi
      @FehzanMehdi  2 роки тому +1

      If Industry is your target, I'd look to get good experience with clients in different industries. Potentially look to avoid financial services, as a number of industries such as FMCG, Retail etc. avoid candidates with just FS experience. The short placement, I'd definitely recommend, as that can help you stand apart from other candidates with just audit experience. Make sure you also focus on personal development including soft skills, network at your current firm make good relationships and technical i.e. power bi. All of these will benefit your CV / help you in a future interview.

      @@FehzanMehdi thank you so much for your reply, I will definitely take up the placement in something other than audit. Is there any area you think is particularly good for CV’s? Happy to work in anything other than corporate tax, one tax comp was enough for me 😂

    • @FehzanMehdi
      @FehzanMehdi  2 роки тому +1

      Yh tax isn’t needed unless you want to go into tax - it’s tough right because commercial finance would be excellent but practice firms don’t really provide that - don’t worry too much about what area focus on something you think you’ll enjoy whether that’s consulting, deals etc up to you!
