interesting concept. Looks pretty easy to do and creates a full meal instead of just seitan! Next time I am making some up I will probably give this a try.
I just made this recipe. its good, you should make this. if yo dont have a burger press, fill a sauce pan that is slightly smaller than your pan with water, just make sure the underside is clean, give it a bit of oil. worked perfectly Im going to save this and make it again, great base to work off. never had seitan that was this easy, barely had to knead and didnt have to take out the food processor. on first reflection I would still like pasta more than beans, nothing wrong with the beans but pasta is hard to beat, a protein pasta like lentils, would be perfect imho.
I tried making a pizzza out of seitan the other day by rolling it flat in the pan and using it as a crust but it didn't quite work out lol. This looks really good though, and I'm gonna have to try it
@PlantBasedBistro I had managed to make it very flat once and figured with the right toppings it would be good that way lol. And it was... But nothing stuck to it and it wasn't firm enough. Ended up sloppy but tasty. Usually just have it in nugget or tender form lol
Dericka and Brian, please forgive my curiosity, but given everything you do would be easier if you were up higher than seated at a chest-height table, do you do that because one or both of you cannot stand? If this is an offensive question, I apologize and will understand if you prefer not to answer and delete my question. I love everything you offer, and often find myself wishing I could be your sous chef and chop & mix things for you.
@@PlantBasedBistro Thanks for answering - I get that. I've been encouraged to start my own channel based on a book I wrote, but the amount of space I could dedicate to it would be a small percentage of my home's floorspace. Take care, stay healthy and please, PLEASE keep making such good food and showing us how to do it! Hugs to you both!
I’m for sure going to make this !
Cool! Enjoy!
I like the one pot meal ideal, will try soon. Thanks :)
Awesome video. Had my mouth watering the whole time. Gotta love butter beans, really good superfood. An excellent source of protein and fibre.

The press replacement of a even simpler, just use a pan slightly smaller than the main cooking pan the seitan is in 👍

Yeah, it's not bread, it's more like meat, so it won't work as a pizza very well.

It's because of the small space we have to shoot in.
