I like it when you guys show the knives in use. So many of us just buy them because we like them but don't actually have many tasks to do with them, so it's always nice to get some ideas.
Kinda a dumb comment leave your campsite cleaner than you found it! Unless you are frequenting dirty campsites which well I guess here in Utah is more common than not! Haha
That was a beautiful fire, a tasty-looking stew and I think pretty much everyone would love to be there with you guys. And may I add that I believe Kurt and Dallas are possibly the best couple of hosts that Knife Banter has had
Took my boys out to teach them some basic bushcrafting while back. Strongarm is in my opinion one of the best all around for the $ they loved it. Great stuff guys.
The end with Kurt’s face after the first bite with the spoon had me dyin’ 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Dallas: “I should have thought this through…”🤣🤣. Just 2 guys having fun doing what they love and putting it out there for others to watch. Always entertaining. Thanks guys.
I enjoyed this vid MORE than anything lately! Please create more of this type content where ya'll actually take stuff to the field, and put it to the test! Good times. GOOD! TIMES! And we all learn so much more than from the dry productions in the studio...
Tons of bushcrafters swear by the Mora Garberg. But at the end of the day it all comes down to the individual. No best knife for every task. Thanks for the video guys, good stuff! 👍
Like archery and sidearms, if it don’t fit your hand, there will be problems. I have several Buck knives, and almost bought the Compadre, then decided on Survival Lillie’s APO1S. Bigger and heavier, but that handle fits my hand like a glove, and the balance feels perfect. Just bought the Mora Garberg Bushcraft as a lighter duty/get home bag fixed blade. It think it will work out fine. This was a good video. Keep it up.
lol. Somebody inside the truck (probably me) hit the wrong button on the gopro inside and we didn't record anything. Or Kurts truck sounds like Kurt? lol Thank you for the laugh. -Dallas
@@kejadventures241Obviously you are not a hog hunter. I process my own and don't feel like screwing around with re-sharpening when cleaning multiple hogs after a long day.
@@BOOMER-rs5qn Then why not get a knife designed for that with better steel? You obviously don't know what a carving knife is because if you did you wouldn't be bringing 3 of them with you to cut hogs. Lmao
Not if you have decent sized hands. If you have short, stubby sausage fingers like the dudes int he video, I get it. But my ESEE 4 just sits in a drawer because the handle is so awful.
Great stuff! 😃 I had put in this request once before, putting it in again: Could y’all showcase slip joint knives doing typical EDC tasks? I feel like your average “super steel, AXIS/Integral Titanium Frame Lock” knife enthusiast is missing out on that whole family of knives because of the idea that they’re too flimsy to use safely.
I EDC a slip joint every day as part of my “load out.” I carry different kinds of knives for different kinds of tasks. As I’m typing this, I’m carrying an antique Scout Knife from the 59’s that a friend recently gifted me. Seventy years old, no locking mechanism of any kind, and it cuts, screws and unscrews, pries and scrapes just fine.
Well, all you guys need to do at this point is add a scoring system from 1-10 on each knife, add some snazzy alternative music and “mirror polish” all your blades and you’ll be influencing the knife world in no time!
I will add it to my list for the next video. I do like the RAT. I do own a couple (R2D2, RAT 1, and have used the crud out of an ESEE 3). Thank you for watching. -Dallas
I used to think these guys were beyond cool. But this out in the wild really humbled me to their game. Hahaha and the worst part is when that guy kept saying Falk knifen hahaha
Nice video lol except the cutting animal flesh part .. thx for info very educative.. ya i thought essee as well. . Tho s1 pro for carving is better?.. i need a carving knif
Sweet you bought some fire 🔥 wood at the gas station ⛽️ oh did you forget your ax ? I did notice the sun changed angle ( 3 hours) before you got the fire started, just saying 😂oh I did like the slow motion cutting of the food though. Why did you wait until the next day to put up. Shelter?? Oh well at least you had fun and nobody got hurt. Right ??
lol. Thanks for watching. We enjoy making these videos. It takes a bit of time to get the lighting right, that's for sure. Thank you for watching. We will try and do more of these types of videos. -Dallas
Thank you. Kurt and I have a lot of fun filming these videos. Compadre and Garberg are excellent knives and come in at a great price point. Have a great weekend. -Dallas
What is better a500 dollar top of the line made for the arctic or a over priced pice of metal with a vedge, compared the esee to the a1 not even the pro or the x see what happens. Or this heart’s you’re American pride

Great words Dallas.
Always clean up your campsites guys. It should be cleaner than when you found it.
I hate a dirty site. I'm always picking bits up from prior campers😠 Having a dog concerns me what crap he might pick up
Leave no trace!
Kinda a dumb comment leave your campsite cleaner than you found it! Unless you are frequenting dirty campsites which well I guess here in Utah is more common than not! Haha
Dallas saying, “this’n” made me smile. I miss country/rural living.
A TOPS KNIFE would've been a good addition to this field test.
I would agree. I had quite a few options. We are planning future videos to include other brands for a field test.

I don’t think you were going for a fishing spear Kurt. I think you just made a fork to go with your gigantic spoon.👍🏻👍🏻😂
you guys were great together. enjoyed the video.
So glad to see Kurt learned to use fire steel outside the office... Please don't burn down BHQ, man.
You all gave me an idea for a day trip... THANKS!!!
I’ve got an original red coated Buck compadre when they went on sale. Lower price compared to the new ones
The new Compadre is more expensive but even so it's half the price of the ESEE (in my area for the least)
Interesting intro, was the truck doing the talking?😂

I'll stick with my Cold Steel Laredo Bowie. It will handle 99% of my outdoor needs. For small/detail work, I keep a couple Mora Companions in my pack.

Dammit brain, I can't take you anywhere.
Why not use a hatchet to split wood? Proper tool for the job?
Excellent job gentlemen. Good video and thanks for making the point about cleaning up after ourselves. Well done!
Really beautifully recorded/edited video footage. Very peaceful to watch too!
I never understood how fallknivens have so thick blade stock but cut so well. Their geomentry is amazing.

I need to try and make a spoonainer with a big heavy knife. Maybe the BK2, that's a chunk of metal...
I use a WINKLER belt knife, and I tried to carve a spoon out of a piece of wood and i ended up getting 6 stitches in my thumb! Haha fun times!!
All that hard boys..you guys looked like you were withering away😂 More stew!!! Great video.
I thought this was a GREAT format for this sort of video!
