Great video detailing a total breakdown of the Z982. A few things, I noticed that your phone seems to have already been worked on, as you don't have issues with adhesives and can pull component apart with ease. The original breakdown of the phone will include a sheet of plastic covering the wires for the USB port. Also the motherboard has adhesive securing it to the screen under the area where the SD/sim card tray goes. You have to be careful with bending the motherboard, so patience is really needed here. Anyway, thanks for the great video!
The only constructive criticism that I would offer would be to ask for you to make the removal of the "very thin cord" a bit more visible. I had to watch it several times before realizing what was going on. This is a very well done video. I have never taken ANY cell phone apart. I really had no trouble with you walking me thru the process. Thank you!
Wow. I'm even a bigger fan oF my ZTE after this. It worked. I almost ripped the power Volume cable. It's very fragile. Replaced the LCD as described in the video. Was astonished I now have what appears to be a new phone. Going to buy more memory for it now. Great phone, great video. I finally have found a decent product in the marketplace. Thanks guys!

Are you, the uploader of this video, in the U.S.? I just damaged my ZTE Blade Max screen and I'm asking because I can't find an Android repair shop near me. I'm not as tech savvy to do this so I was gonna offer to pay you instead. :( I miss my phone screen already.
You should have also mentioned about how fragile the black plastic snap clip is on the main board . I accidentally snapped it off when I pulled the tape off so I had to re align the wire ribbon perfectly and then taped it in place. But otherwise the video was great help.
No shit....how do you fix that I tried taping it but had no luck I had 2 of these phones. 1 busted screen the other just locked up and would not go off the start screen. Swapped motherboards but cant get phone to turn on due to that damn little black clip. cannot get it in place. blasted sausage fingers....lol.

Thaaaaaaaaank you for this. My phone jammed while at the hospital and I couldn't get it to power off or do anything with the touch screen. Locked out of my phone bcuz I couldn't key in the pin and the only option was a perpetual hold and restart. I didn't even damage my screen and it just stopped working after about 6 months. These are worthless phones now that I know everything is saved to the phone and not a sim. Happily we had a family plan with a couple of other extra phones we weren't using so I just harvested the screen from one and switched out the mother boards. You are a God-send! Even though I absolutely hate these phones, (found out they are banned in all military installations and some federal gov't buildings so I'm just happy I restored it to the point I can transfer all the data out whenever I can find a phone that isn't on a watch list. LOL I now have all my contacts, texts and photos restored and in the process of updating. I noticed my gps (Waze) was uninstalled (that was the last app I was using when everything froze up on me this morning), but hopefully it will work after another install and update. I was riding a bike and it fell out of my pocket. I didn't have a case on it but the speed I was going. It wouldn't have matter anyway. I was going about 35 MPH.
mine lased about a year but i work at a car wash and i was cleaning a large truck and i was leaning on it to get to the windshield and the half of my body that was up against the truck happened to have my phone in it

If you're going to be a good instructor, please don't do warp speed EVEN when putting the phone back together. We don't have the same experience doing this that you have. And we don't want to start from the beginning to comprehend the process of putting it back together.

you can get the same phone on Ebay for like $100 now. The assembly kit and the screen replacement is like 70 bucks. 30 more you can get a new phone

A little bit of hot glue on the corner and hold it until its cooled does the trick. Thats how we fix most lifts at my job
