Really appreciate your honest and well rounded reviews. In particular, I value how you evaluate bikes based on different rider types and their unique styles/interests. I also value comfort and ease of operating over having the fastest or hardest charging bike.
I've had my Orbea Wild M11 for a couple of months now and have put over 700 kms on it. It's an amazing bike and floats over all the chunky stuff like butter, turns on a dime, and soars over the jumps like they weren't there. It's THE BEST bike I've ever owned.
I was lucky enough to purchase a 2023 Wild H10(For my first emtb!) I tried a few others before this but as soon as I rode it I knew. I am not an aggressive rider as I am nearing 63 so I take it pretty easy and this bike is perfect for my trails in southern Utah. I just started e mountain biking this year and this bike has brought me places I never would have gone so it's been a lot of fun!
In all the videos about this bike from your channel, you guys mention that you wouldn't necessarily recommend it for casual riders. Could you give me a few recommendations for a bike that might be more forgiving and better for the casual ride? Thank you
Absolutely love mine, I went with the H10 version as I didn’t see a need for a carbon frame. Couple gripes, I’m on my 3rd motor cover as the one spec’d by Orbea is horribly brittle and cheap. My second gripe is that I can’t seem to get the headset to remain quiet. In a dry/dusty setting I’m lucky to get two rides in before the creaks set back in. Oh last one, check your bolts often and frequently, I’ve had more things come loose on this bike than any of my previous bikes combined. It’s truly an amazing machine that rewards you for riding it like you stole it!
I've got the h10 Completely agree. Motor cover is rubbish, bout an Amygo's guard, bomb proof. Same with checking bolts, my rear axle works loose every couple of rides. Other than that, what a bike
Love the channel, this has really gotten me into the world of emtb. I’m a little concerned this year with picking the parts, feel like there will be some bias with this one, confirmation bias. Bike looks unbelievable! I appreciate el Jeffe says that the pure technical nature and raw performance of the bike may not be for everyone, I think for my aging bones >40 that sounds like me. I want the performance with a bias towards compliance.
Thanks for sharing. Whether it be food, bike frames or anything else, we try to remain open and mindful that people have different tastes. We believe that this bike is an incredible bike, but not without some downsides, which we thought we mentioned pretty thoroughly. It sounds like you picked up exactly on what those were and why. Stick around for the round table and hopefully you’ll see where it’s all going.
Also, on a side note, put your hands together for the guys testing out some awesome rain wear that will most likely return in a soon to be released review vid! 😅
Those Wilds ride awesome! A couple of gripes I had with Orbea was the paint. My 2022 flaked off way too easily ( no clear coat ). Orbea doesn’t offer touch up paint. The headset cable routing is an absolute fail for mechanics and maintenance. I’ve heard, not my experience, that Orbea is not good with warranties ( take that as hear say though ).. They are fast as hell though!
Cant wait to get mine and be a speed racer with arm pump! We'll see about the customer service. Working in customer service for over 10 years, it became apparent that there are ALOT of unreasonable humans on this earth. Every brand will have horror stories which makes it difficult to determine the overall quality of their customer service. Its more often the people with poor experiences that speak up and not those that had a good or decent experience. I guess I will find out (hopefully I never have to contact them). If your shock breaks and damages your frame, try going after Fox.. why would Orbea cover that under warranty.. makes no sense - it had nothing to do with their craftmanship. Fox should cover any damages caused by their defective product. Especially if you choose to use a shock that was not factory installed on the bike. (referring to a comment)
I have gen 4 Trek rail that has Bosch CX line smart integrated system. No you dont. With downhill helmet you barely hear it on trail. Without helmet you hear it more, but barely. The motor gets noisier when you have lower gear and pedal extremely fast, once you change the gear up and pedaling gets harder it makes less sound. Kinda like a car when in a certain gear you reach the speed limit and motor is working its ass of, but once you up the gear sound goes down. Overall no. Had the bike for like a month and the motor has 0 problems. Noise is never a thing, you barely hear it and its gone of your mind after few rides. Your mind gets used to it and you pretty much forget about it. Also those gopros enhance the sound on videos. Its nowhere as noisy as on videos. I expected more noise before the bike was delivered and was pretty shocked how quiet it was on the first ride. The performance is though god like. I have trek slash 9.8 which is a top of the line bike, but that bosch motor on my rail 9.8 is just powerhouse. I never had so much fun on a bike than now. It cost alot of money, but honestly once you get that bosch motor bike going. You never go back again and the buying remorse is gone. For me buying remorse went away after 10 minutes on my bike. Once i experienced that power. Its something else. I always laughed at ebikes, but now im a believer. Ebikes went really far.
