    I did the SAS myself with mostly ORD parts. It has 52" springs and a 32" perch width diff. The dmax is simply awesome in this truck and was not a hard swap either

    Thanks! I just happened to stumble across this one on a local classifieds super cheap.... There is a little bit of work done to make it flex a bit...

    I want a 2 door so badly, but with a Duramax swap because that'd be awesome

    My older brother wants to do it to his 4 door tahoe, for the ZF6/NP241 how much work and effort and cost was it?

    • @80K25
      @80K25  9 років тому

      jaket2k9 Sorry for the late reply. The ZF6 / NP241 swap is pretty easy. You'll need a 1" body lift to clear the transmission with the body. The stock NV3500 or NV4500 clutch masters that come in these trucks will actuate the ZF6 slave no problem. You'll need a clutch disc that matches the ZF6 and a SBC flywheel. The NP241 will need a 29 spline input shaft from an NP261 and then it bolts right up.

    What tires are you running with the ORD SAS?

    • @80K25
      @80K25  3 роки тому +1

      I was running 37x12.5r17 Goodyear Kevlar MT/R tires at the time.

      @@80K25 did the ORD SAS, with the 37s, have good road manners

    • @80K25
      @80K25  3 роки тому +1

      I did not. I had very minor rubbing when fully articulated, but not enough to cause any trouble.

    • @80K25

      This truck had poor road manners. The 52" springs had a lot of lateral movement that translated into very sloppy steering. It drove straight enough, but crossing the crown of the road resulted in a full half turn of the steering wheel to re center it. The ride was good. A track bar up front would have solved the steering issues but resulted in binding while articulating. A set of 47" leaf springs from the front of a 73-87(91) square body would have driven far better at the cost of articulation.
      I later removed the leaf springs and paid a shop to install a 3 link front suspension, but that was a whole other disaster that ultimately wound up with me dismantling this truck and building a new one to get the road manners and articulation I was after with a properly built 3 link.

    WHERE DID YOU GET THE REAR BUMPER

    • @80K25
      @80K25  5 років тому

      Blue Lake Offroad is what they are operating as now, I think. Was Tactical Armor Group when I bought it. Expect extremely long lead times and very poor customer service from Kyle. He makes a decent product, but it took 6 months to get it after I paid him.
