Man I always watch these videos. I own a 40 foot pj, has air suspension and hydraulic jacks, 12k axles 17.5 rims it's a nice trailer but diamond c has the best and nicest in the industry hands down. I got mine for a great deal but my next trailer will 100 percent be a diamond c no doubt. Great job on the videos keep them coming!!!
7:45 Unless I'm misunderstanding how these jacks are used.. Isn't that side plate in the way of cracking the jack stand lever? Does it detach and re-attach through the hole on the side?
How can the deck on the neck be more accessible at ground. Level with out having to buy step deck trailer and would it be possible to make shorter step deck trailer
Personally, if im running a step deck im going with a king pin so it could be towed behind a semi. If you break down, who has another yruck to tow it? The company i tow for couldn't pull a ball coupler but can a king pin
We love ours. I'd order another today, but the prices went up $14,000.00 between the time we ordered and the time we received the trailer. $40k is steep for a hot shot trailer.
Here's a good question. I know you guys use Lippert Axels. If I wanted to pull a SDX312 or SDX216 behind a single axel Semi is there anyway it could be setup to use air brakes? Also could the Ridewell suspension be setup to use tractor air supply instead of the onboard compressor system? I know Dexter axel offers 10k, 12k and 15k air brake axel setups...
@@diamondctrailers approximately, what is tare "empty" weight of the SDX216/SDX312. I realize opions and exact specs will cause this number to vary, but just so I have a ballpark idea.
Great questions Bryan! We like the 216 combo a touch better being that it has a better power to weight ratio compared to the 312. However if I was hauling real heavy consistently I would lean toward the 312 having those extra tires on the ground and extra axle worth of brakes when needed. We only use the Blackwood Classic. We have had better luck with it holding up. 👍
One of these are definitely on my Christmas wish list. My only question is (while I know you can't speak for every pickup truck that could tow one of these, but) I believe the shortest length you offer is the 48'... In your experience, GENERALLY SPEAKING does that keep one under the 65' over all length limit if they have A dually with an 8' bed and crew cab? A C&C with a 9' bed and crew cab? Under 65' where they could still keep their bed?
With a 48' you would 100% be under the 65' rule.....but no serious hotshot keeps his bed and I say this with a decade of experience. DOT inspects you a lot less if you don't have a bed because you aren't a "weekend trucker" if you removed your bed. Good luck 💪👊
Not necessarily, a low loader is ment to carry machines, step frame trailers are more like flatbeds and doesn't have any sort of ramp, quite often used to carry stacks of cheap pallets or hay, also double decker trailers usually use step frame chassis
Anyway we can get it custom where the slide out ramps, once pulled out and in place. Can they be some how locked in place top and bottom? Also do you guys offer a winch roller?
Great questions! Right now they hook on only. What would be your advantage to them locking on when slid out? We can do a winch roller on custom basis - no problem. 👍
I don't really have a use for a trailer like this, but in my mind, a mini 18wheeler trailer behind my rig would look AWESOME!!! Are you required (in Texas) to have a CDL to tow one of these around? 🤔
Anything with a cgvwr over 26k is cdl required with a few exceptions so if you have a say 2007 Chevy 3500 with a gvwr of 11400 you can put a 15600 gvwr trailer behind it and be good anything more you’d need a cdl
@@patrickmcnair1965 might wanna check your math, cause those numbers will get you shut down all day long if you're not registered CDL. 26,001 lbs or 13ton is the absolute max you can be registered for without cdl. No exceptions lol.
About to order a couple maxed out trailers: FMAX216 35 x 102 - 40k and Workforce Dump 20 x 96 - 30k Since you’re on the custom order topic, have you guys thought about engineering a workforce dump trailer that has a hydraulic dove? Slide out ramps are a huge pain with the skid steer
Good afternoon, the SDX216 53ft weighs roughly about 12,420lbs with air ride suspension. It will be around 1,000lbs lighter if you opt out for the heavy duty hutch suspension.
Decked out like 60-70k. Kind of a joke if you think about it. For that money, get a 50k truck and a 20-30k trailer and that setup will make you more any day of the week.
They have some nice ass trailers but there Hella expensive for a 40ft dual tandem trailer that can hold up to 20-22k ibs is almost $30k dollars that's just to much for a damn trailer

That trailer is badass. And your website is awesome on specking one out!
Trailer nerd checking in. I asked about the step deck, and here is the video. Thanks!
🤓 🤝
I'd been waiting for a video like this from Diamond C. Thanks, this is great info!
These trailers would be awesome for a tiny home. I was looking for one, but semi tractor only with air.
Now that's an idea!
Great presentation! Very thoural informative
Man those are nice trailers. I almost want to be a hotshot just to buy one.
Right. I second this
Waste of money
I already see one thing that would make this the ultimate trailer and thats it having a hydraulic dovetail! Damn got me at the end of the video!
😎
I was thinking the exact same thing!
Nice video. Good salesmen, very knowledgeable. You an tell he likes trailers.
Will y'all offer a step deck trailer that goes over a regular pickup bed similar to how a fifth wheel camper fits over the bedsides?
7:45 Unless I'm misunderstanding how these jacks are used.. Isn't that side plate in the way of cracking the jack stand lever? Does it detach and re-attach through the hole on the side?
Bingo! Simply unpin - remove handle and re-pin in crank rod and get to work! 👍👊💪
Diamond C yes sir
curious if you could design a winch track into the trailer that is flush with the deck, this would be an excellent replacement to a shipshee

If it was set up for say a Ram 5500 with a king pin wouldn't there be an issue with the air brakes of the semi being incompatible?

What’s the cost of the custom trailer in the video if placed today
Muito bom, assistindo aqui do Brasil 🇧🇷
Can you please tell me how much that trailer is
If it was covered in the video I missed it what's the empty weight
Let’s say if I was to order 30 trailers how long will it take to build?
Might take a minute but totally doable! 😁

Hello, do you guys know if we can use the GH-7095 Spartan (Torsion-Flex) Gooseneck Couplers on this one?
Great question!
Those type couplers won’t work on the step deck.
container pins ?
looks like the jack handle is tough to work. How does that work?
Great question! It is pinned and stowed in place. Simply unpin, remove handle and re-pin through the diamond shaped hole and get to turning! 😁
How about designing a detachable lowboy for Hotshot.
Somebody has, you'll have to look it up but it's DI trailers I believe.
Why? It wouldn’t be heavy enough to haul anything that would require a lowboy.
Where are you located?
Now, how about an enclosed step deck? Ya know, for the mother in law...
Will this work properly with a 60" cab to axle truck?
Most definitely.
You’ll want to be careful with any extended range fuel tanks, tool boxes etc mounted behind the cab.
