It truly is amazing how much D&RGW equipment survived. Between the C&TSRR and the Durango & Silverton, we have several working examples of D&RGW narrow-gauge steam as well as preserved examples on static display and scores of rolling stock, not to mention several miles of track to ride.
Truly superb camera work including getting into rarely seen off the beaten track locations. Excellent variety and thoughtful camera angles capture the equipment and great scenery beautifully. Is there anything more beautiful than a K-36 whistle? Knowing the terrain and "roads", hard to believe you got into so many challenging locations chasing the same train! Look forward to the rest of the series. Jeff Otto
Great video, one of the best on youtube! I would recommend dropping your frame rate to to 24fps and your shutter speed to 1/50s to get a more natural motion
One of the finest train videos I've watched. Great railroad. Thanks for sharing.
Nothing on this planet like a steam loco whistle. Beautiful.

Great to see these guys have so much working rolling stock. Nothing sadder than going somewhere and seeing broken bits of trains lying around.
Awesome video of #488. Best RR in the United States. A must ride train 👍🙏
Love that hooter whistle on the 463 !
An excellent high quality video.
Thanks!

Ahhh 463 The Little Engine that could! :)
Absolutely stunning video Dan. Your edits are clean, you used a tripod and you prepared the shots well. 10 out of 10.

24fps is nice, but it's just not for me. Even 30 looks a bit garbage with this particular video camera. Thanks for the compliment!
Excellent footage! I can almost smell the coal smoke!
👍👍👍
8:19 the whistle scared those ladies lol, welcome to the old steam era 🤷♂️
🤣
