In the spring of 2007 my wife and I took a 48 day vacation from here in Georgia to the western US.
Of all the trains we rode while out there we enjoyed the Cumbres & Toltec Narrow Gauge Scenic RR the most. It was well worth the expense of the trip.
This video brought back some wonderful memories and make we wish we could go back.

My late wife and I took this journey with engine #484 in the Fall of 2010 (I believe that was the correct year, a trip we never forgot. The Aspens were in full Fall glory and the weather was

I'm going to comment about this steam engine hauled sights and scene train journey on a different way
    Well first of all
let me tell you who am ? A pkistani citizen age 75. Born in India and migrated with parents on partition of British India because my father had been employed by Indian railway 🚂. After the retirement I had been employed as goods train guard and worked for,5 years ,I still appreciate those steam engines and their drivers and firemen. You won't imagine the tea served by firemen properly brewed in the mug on top of injecter.
Lately here in Pakistan we have been watching train running at 110 miles per hour whereas Indian railway are much better 190 or more per hour
I have enjoyed your video fully
Thank you for showing me beautiful steam engine and scenic views

I went on it before the Durango & Silverton. I went from Antonito to Chama. The train was pulled by K-27 # 463, then at Osier. 463 had switched trains with K-36 # 487. And then we stopped at the Osier dinning hall to eat. Then 487 pulled the train to Chama. While 463 pulled the train that 487 was pulling, to Antonito. At Chama I saw some of the old equipment at Chama that the C&TS has restored. Along with 483 and 484. The two K-36 locomotives. 483 is outside at the yard in Chama. And 484 was in the roundhouse. Then the train had stopped at the Station and there you go the ride had ended. The Cumbres & Toltec is great train ride.

Me Still Thank you for the compliments. The gear I use is as follows:
      Camera - Canon EOS 80D
Microphone - RODE VideoMic Pro Plus
      Tripod - Magnus VT - 350
I used iMovie to edit the video, but my newer videos now utilize Premiere Pro. Thanks again.

When 489 and 484 were running Where is Cumbres and Toltec steam trains 487 and 488 in the video

Riley Sanesh 487 was getting new tires, so it will take awhile to hit the rails again. 488 was in beginning of the video just idling. It ran the day before. It sadly wasn’t running either day I filmed the railroad.

Great video, the only thing about US railroading that I cannot stand are those bloody awful bells, they drive me nuts and have mute the audio.

This constant dinging of the bell is quite annoying it takes away the majestic & power of the steam noise. In my opinion the bell is unnecessary the steam locomotive noise is more than enough

My wife and I rode the C & T about a decade ago. One of the best steam rides in the U.S. We took the trip in the early Fall and the Aspen were in full color. Incredible. Also loved the lunch stop at the lodge halfway through. This is a must do for rail lovers!
