Join us on this epic adventure over 2 years in the making as we embark on our long awaited journey to Canada and Alaska.
We head along one of the most beautiful drives on earth to one of my old home towns, Banff in the Canadian Rockies. We swim in pristine turquoise lakes, explore rocky canyons and hike epic mountains in the final episode of our series Campervanning in Western Canada!

The Icefield Parkway 1:38
Know as one of the most beautiful drives on earth, between Jasper and Banff. Our first stop is the thunderous Athabasca Falls, followed by the Athabasca Glacier, the most accessible Glacoer on the Columbia Icefield. After we hike to Wilcox pass for some stunning views of the Icefield before crossing into Banff National Park for some excellent lookouts at Peyto Lake, Bow Lake and Crowfoot Glacier. We finish the day at the Tunnel Mountain Campground in Banff.
Banff Town 10:31
We begin our journey into the Banff township hiking via the Hoodoos, the Bow River and the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel. We explore the famous mountain town I used to call home.
Banff Lake day 17:12
We start our beautiful sunny lake day at Cascade Ponds with its adorable ground Squirrels. Our next stop Two Jack Lake followed by a dip at the largest lake in the region Minnewanka. Before sunset we visit the ultimate lookout of the area on the way to the Norquay Ski field where we encounter a baby mountain goat. Our final stop for the day the stunning Vermillion lakes.
Johnston Canyon & Lake Louise 22:25
Before leaving the town of Banff we take a small riverside walk and head to one of the most famous tourist sights in the area, Johnston Canyon. We hike to the lower and upper falls in this beautiful slot canyon before making our way to Lake Louise. Along the way we run into some car troubles and meet a black bear whilst waiting at Bakers Creek. We finally get back into the road and head to Lake Louise just in time for sunset.
Moraine Lake & Eiffel Peak Hike 31:47
We get up early for a shuttle to the most beautiful lake in the National Park, Moraine Lake. Before leaving we spot 2 adult Grizzlies and one Cub at Lake Louise ski field. Arriving to Moraine Lake at the perfect time with no visitors and perfect reflections. We hike up to the famous Larch Valley and continue our climbing to the towering Eiffel Peak for unforgettable views on the most epic hike of our trip. Up there we also spot a mountain marmot who shows us how easy climbing can be.
Yoho National Park 42:30
We cross from Alberta back into BC via Yoho National Park. Our first stop is one of Canada’s highest waterfalls, Takakkaw Falls. We view the natural bridge and swim in the turquoise waters of Emerald Lake. We continue on to Revelstoke overnight.
Vancouver Bound 46:14
From Revelstoke we head west to Vancouver, here we meet up with friends and witness the most spectacular fireworks display we have ever seen at the festival of lights. A fitting end to our journey through western Canada.
Join us on our next series as we cruise north to Alaska via the inside passage with Holland America. From there we spend several weeks exploring the largest and northernmost state of the USA.
