How would you make music to evoke a particular feeling from the viewer based on the world that the characters live in? Or how to make sounds that fit the fictional world building
Nope they showed you exactly what they were doing in the very first few moments of the video. It’s just that, but a bunch. Until it sounds like it sounded here. He’s not gonna teach you production and music theory here lmfao you’re missing the point
I would pay so much money to see you make a whole playlist just about music production and sound design. Your style of editing has so much flair and personality to it.
Same technique was use in tracks from Todd Edwards, Daft Punk on thier Discovery album. Sampling is still so powerfull and creative. I'm using thing called Audiomodern Loopmix to automatize some of things wich you showed in this video. For example pitch control and proper harmony can transform something really wierd to amazing, dancable groove.
Amazing video! I love the beat at 0:17 and want to create something similar but I'm not able to create such good rhythmic crowd noise. I tried splicing noises from a crowd together but it didn't end up having that twitchy feel that yours does. Do you have any tips? Maybe you could let me know what video you found the crowd noise from in the first place? Thanks!
Nice, it's more about the technique than the sound source. Try tremolating (or automating the volume up and down). The crowd needs a bit of rhythmic "shape" to it for it to feel percussive. Let me know if that works!

@@Amogus-xu3nd ah I like that. If I can find a way to visualize/sonify that, it could be an interesting topic. Thanks!
@@Amogus-xu3nd I second this

how would you learn sound design if you could do it all again?
This has the same energy as "draw the rest of the owl", lmao.
ha love that analogy
I encountered that, but mine was draw the rest of the horse lol
If you've done electronic music production, it's trivial. Slicing, re-arranging, pitching up/down, adding some reverb/delay is table stakes
@@foljs5858 yep, it's veeeery basic beginner stuff. Idk what's up with the comments.

Your style is like adventure time music and I love it.
One tip I have is reversing your melodies, usually can get some very beautiful stuff.
Love reversing. Reversing printed down reverb gets cool too

Bro just learned about sampling
I usually make a beautiful melody with my voice, and to fade the harmonies I simply put the first melody in reverse and re-record it JSJSJSJ
i hadn't thought about splicing like this but be prepared for the musical abominations that will ensue!
Really great video
Will there be more videos like this? Just made me wanna try this out

this is really cool stuff! i was wondering, are there any legal issues around slicing like this? is this method practical for commercial work?
For commercial work, it's best to slice royalty-free sounds. For personal experimentation, slice anything :)
