- With a power to weight ratio of 1.34 horsepower per kilogram of curb weight, what is it like to drive the most powerful internal combustion hypercar in the world? We interviewed 24 Hours of Le Mans and Rolex 24 Hour of Daytona winning driver David Donohue, who for the last year has collaborated with the Hennessey Special Vehicles team to assist with the Venom F5's development program and to introduce the car to our clients.
The Venom F5 Revolution Coupe is an apex predator on a racing circuit. Based on the Hennessey Venom F5 Coupe, the track-focused Revolution variant is distinguished from its sibling by its comprehensively reworked aerodynamics, suspension, engine cooling, and digital telemetry.

At circuit of the Americas I must admit it looked slow through corners but its raw power on straights and less tight corners gets the top time! I mean it would do well under 7 mins at the ring but it would not get close to the Merc one or gordan murrys t50 niki lauder! Thats the car I want to see do laps is gordans t50 niki lauder! that car under 900kg and 750hp fan derived WEAPON will destroy any car ever! When he put this fan on f1 car it DESTROYED everyone so a modern version look out! The f5 I really like it but don't think it's a true circuit built car! But it handles very well so it's a great car! Just my humble opinion!!

lol its a british chassis and the rest is bolted together in their shop.....its certainly not a revolution....Delta Motorsport designed and builds it for them.
@@Slapbladder Don't overlook craftsmanship and engineering put into "bolting" this car together. Very few cars in the world can approach the performance specs of the F5 on pump gas and do it without blowing up or flying off the road so I definitely believe it is a revolution.

In that price range, most cars have a higher specific output, better brakes, airbag and TC that this kit car is deprived of. Almost all cars selling for the same price are better in every way than this piece of crap. Porsches, Paganis, Bugatti, Lambos all come with airbag and are crash tested. Keep coping

The fact you are trashing another man's dream and the car he was able to make with a company he started already tells me a lot about you. The cars you mentioned are amazing cars and all have been in the business much longer that Hennessey. For Hennessey to accomplish what he accomplished in the time he did it is amazing. Just sad you don't see that. There is a bigger war against cars like this and if we can't stand together and support these accomplishments, these cars will be gone.

I remember back ancient times now reading car and driver magazine back when the Hennessy was probably just starting out and there was also another one called Dontov. That was modifying Corvette too.
Looks and sounds Sick... Not sure it will live with the t50s on a proper track or road with corners..

It’s great to see the F5 being more than just a straight line hypercar! That test at COTA really proves it’s capabilities. It’s a F1 GP circuit after all. Of course everybody wants to see it at the Nordschleife or Spa to compare the lap times with other Super/hypercars. But I think it would be enough to take to COTA another great sport car like a 992 GT3RS or a McLaren 720S and show their performances at the same day with the same driver!
Just for a purist at heart that engine alone seriously I'm building everything around that and extracting everything you can I get it and everybody keeps harping on the Nuremberg track when you get there I hope everything works out for you this is one awesome expectation that I am waiting on and thank you for putting the time in to possibly taking it to a negative side awesome content unbelievable car peace

This car is stunning!! The only problem, maybe , is too much power at rear wheels will make the car burn those tires and lose time, same as the 😢 he had to lift the pedal so the car couldn't spin those rear tire.

Not AWD cause in the video at Cota most curves he couldn't push the pedal down, like he was cautious of spinning at the rear maybe at high speed curves he would be a beast but a tight curve it needs to be slower cannot accelerate due he can spin those rears tires a lot and with more than 1800hp!, imagine.

What I mean is that this car can go faster, do better time at Cota than the one he broke.

I moved to Texas a few years ago and hope to make it down to see Hennessey before our gov does something stupid. Such a big state it's still a 4+ hour drive.
looks like its tuned for street tires. it needs to be tuned on slick to help stabilize the whole package. Also the front end needs to be lowered by 1 inch

Not unless they detune it. The amount of horsepower this thing has means it won't be reliable enough for an endurance race. I'd be really surprised if the maintenance schedule doesn't include a full rebuild at 100 hours or less of run time.

How much of the f5 is actually made in the US ? I read somewhere that the carbon tub was made in Europe...
Could be, but a lot of carbon tubs of european supercars are made in canada.
I’m pretty sure the monocoque is produced in England which makes sense since most carbon is made there.
It is still an American car because Hennessey is an American company. My FK8 Honda Civic Type R was built in England with an engine made here in the US but the Honda Civic Type R is a Japanese car because Honda is a Japanese company. I have no problems with Hennessey working with the best in the industry to make the F5 the best it can be.

Would you rank this hypothetical car on the same level as a car that was, let's say, outsourced to a foreign country, yet proudly wearing American flag?
I have a feeling these differences would suddenly gain prominence.
Hennessey is a small company compared to other hypercar manufacturers, and even if they weren't, most hypercars are built with help from a variety of countries around the world.

It sounds like a louder version of the Mclaren P1 from the outside.
And from the inside, the Venom lacks that turbo sound that the P1 is known for.
it does all kinds of turbo sounds when you sit inside ... it is quite insane. Haven't driven the P1, but have driven Senna many times and the F5 is MUCH more raw. After one of my many the drives in the F5, I once jumped into a Senna to get back home and it was like jumping from a sports car to a Merc S-class! And anyone who had driven Senna once will tell you, Senna is anything but a comfy car! But the F5 is on another level.

The way I wrote the comment gives the impression as if I wanted to say that Venom is lacking in sound.
I didn't mean to say that something was wrong with Venom. I just wanted to make a comparison with the P1. Comparison based on experience gained through online videos that cannot be compared to reality.
I really appreciate the effort and the end result that Hennessey did. And I believe your words that it is in a class above Senna (including P1) in therms of everything.
I can't wait to see the upcoming records of Venom in future.

Yes, it does have 1800. The newer version may have a little more.
It’s usually detuned when taken to tracks, I believe it’s around 1200 Hp here
It has only 0.5bar of boost in track mode, so probably around 1200-1300hp.

The question is.. knowing the rivals (Jesko being one of them ), does the hennessey f5 follow the same homolgation rules specifically on the emissions department? I'm asking this because, as a spectator, i look forward to future comparisons, but I would like to know who had it easier since that will change the way I appreciate the efforts done to reach such a high level of performance. Nevertheless, congrats to hennessey. I can't wait to see it on the ring or spa with proper supporting data/video logging.
They do not, they are working under exemptions under the Low Volume Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Act of 2015.

@@Sebastian-xl7vd higher is better cuz lateral acceleration is equal to max cornering grip wich is measured with gravity unit, wich means full weight + force of gravity ratio. For example, 1.0 G indicates the weight × 2. Most sport cars can handle 0.70 to 1.2 Gs of grip. A brand new Porsche 911 GT3 RS wich is arguably one of the best handling cars in production now can handle 1.4 Gs of grip. Racecars have much higher grip due to tires, so they can withstand in 4.0 Gs or more. F1 cars are above 5.0 Gs wich means 6 × weight, wich is why their drivers need special training. Koenigsegg's "least track focused" vehicle can handle 1.70 Gs of grip, so Jesko is a different kind of monster in that aspect. For a car to sustain triple it's weight in grip on a street tire alone is insane.
