- Heres my review on the new sunny isles Jamaican black castor pure butter. Jamaican black castor has become one of my hair care staples, it helped me grow back stubborn edges years ago and it keeps my hair soft and manageable. If you love jbco, you will love this. Can we say holy grail?? Lol

You guys I have a mix combo hair my dad Dominican and my mother Cuban so I have a mix type of hair from good to really dry brittle I don’t have it natural but it’s a mix lol sorry to explain it the best way possible my hair has been falling since it’s soo dry it’s constantly shedding I went purchased this product last week and I put it on with my hair dry only on the scalp so for the week the oil can go down till it’s time to wash and its amazingggggg best moisturizer I’ve ever had since I was young I blow dry on low heat and my hair is super shiny and soft ❤️

Since my last comment, I have tried it and I’m in love!!! I am so glad I decided to try it and my hair loves it lol . I bought the lavender one and it seals in my hair as well as makes my scalp tingle . My hair is always super soft and moisturized for so many days after 1 application. Definitely a staple !

kharis cadogan I use alone as a moisturizer after adding water to my hair and then I will style my hair as usual. My hair is moisturized the entire week but by the 5th day or so , my hair is less defined (Which I don’t mind some frizz) I don’t really use any gels in my hair as of yet but a small amount might not hurt if you want some hold .
I love it and use it every day. Can't do without it and the smell is NOT overpowering.

I purchased it at Marshall's and TJ Maxx. I also checkout Karen's Body Beautiful has a similar consistency and the first ingredient is castor oil.
PURCHASED THIS AT THE NATURAL HAIR SHOP AND IN ATLANTA. THEY HAD JUST COME OUT WITH! IT! IT WAS $5 THERE SO I PURCHASED 2 JARS.THIS IS A BOMB SEALANT! ESPECIALLY IF YOU PUT IT ON DAMP HAIR. Yes use this to seal the new growth. Moisturize first. This have my new growth like butter and I didn't even have to blow dry this past wash day.

I have short fine hair and after washing it I add to scalp then comb through w my fingers and twist it. I used it in my protective styles and it gave my hair life and strengthen my edges.
I just bought a jar from Marshall’s on Saturday for 7.99. Found a jar of black castor oil in the Maxx but after using the butter I am returning the oil which I never opened. I like this butter....it’s light in texture and for me easier to use than the oil. I particularly like it for detangling and sealing my ends.
I still use the oil in my deep conditioner
I like the sunny isles also. They care about the health of the hair.

Thank you so so much for this video, I purchased the oil and it’s really messy when I use it and I always feel the need to wash my hair like after a couple of days because I don’t want grease on my pillows. I have a question like for stretch marks, I have some on the back of my knees if I use it and also on my hair, the back of my knees won’t grow hair will it? 😅

I use the lavender scented one. Best product ever for my hair!!! It just stays soft and moisturized. I had purchased 3 and gave 2 to friends. Now I can't find the product anywhere. I'm mad 😆

@@Tyiece Thank you. Unfortunately I live in France. Once we get out of confinement I will try to find it in a physical store. My hair used to dry really fast, nothing sealed-in the moisture (shea butter, castor oil itself, olive oil, etc.). This is the only product that does it for me. It is quite heavy when applying it, but my hair loves it! On a side note, and concerning covid: please increase your vitamin D levels. I bought n tried it, but didn’t like it…. It was too heavy n greasy, I felt I couldn’t leave it in my hair for up to two days, I needed to wash off… I felt like it blocked my scalp pores n it will retain dirt…. My view, on this, or mayb it’s just me….

Would you recommend this for type 2b hispanic hair? I have been struggling with a horrible itchy and flaky scalp.
Sure you can try it. It's very heavy so avoid it touching your hair or else it will become very weighed down and greasy looking
Otherwise make your own oil with neem and tulsi powder from Indian stores. Put the powders in a mason jar and pour olive oil in it and stir. Let it sit for a couple of days but stir it daily. Then strain it with stockings and pour in an applicator bottle for scalp oil massage. Also shampoo with Sulfur8 shampoo or and shoulders.

What's the difference between a butter and grease?
A butter has natural ingredients with nutrients for the hair. A grease uses petroleum that doesn’t contain any nutrients for the hair

The jar I purchased is like a hard paste. It does not have the consistency of what you see in this video. I actually melted it down to be able to apply a smooth silky layer. It worked well until cooling down went right back to a hard paste. There is no customer service number to contact except here on this page. I paid $8.99 + tax and I am very disappointed. There is a manufacturer address on jar in very small print. I advice you all to open the jar first before purchasing. Inside my jar the butter was a brownish color. It look nothing like this video. I love the oil, but this jar of butter is not good.
I had the same problem, mine was hard and kind of grainey and when I put it on my hair, parts of it were clumpy and looked like dandruff and would not melt, it kind of looked like I put a body scrub on my hair, and basically, you need to melt it until its completely liquid, then put it in a freezer for 30 minutes, if that still doesn't work then maybe you got a product that's been tampered with!
